What Online CE Credits is
Online CE Credits is a continuing education provider for mental health clinicians. Its About page describes it as "a customer-centered mental health continuing education company" offering CE courses and case consultation "for counselors, social workers, therapists, and psychologists." The site's own tagline is short: "Therapist-owned and managed. Nationally-approved CE trainings for mental health professionals." The About page names the people behind that claim. The company was started by Dr. Jennifer Sweeton, a psychologist who serves as Director of Continuing Education, and Tim Cassidy, a Licensed Professional Counselor who is CEO, and both are listed as co-founders and co-owners of Mind Works Professional Education, Inc., the parent company of Online CE Credits.
The reader here is the licensed clinician who has to collect CE hours for a renewal. The site sorts its library by profession, with sections for Licensed Professional Counselors, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists and licensed psychologists, and the About page says the platform is now home to "over 40,000+ worldwide continuing their professional education online." It also claims "Over 10 Years of Teaching."
The course library and how a course works
The free-course page advertises "250+ on-demand CE courses across core topics." The topic menu runs through addiction, anxiety, ADHD and neurodiversity, autism, ACT, children and teens, couples and relationships, DBT, cognitive therapies, cultural competence, EMDR, IFS, ethics, exposure therapies, neuroscience, somatic therapies, mindfulness-based work, trauma and suicide. The About page adds that the library covers "all CE training categories specified by most state licensure boards for mental health workers", naming diagnosis and treatment, ethics, supervision, and children and adolescents.
The home page lists recent releases with their credit hours and prices. "Understanding Manipulation as Communication" carries 2.75 CEs at $82.50, "When EMDR Doesn’t Work" carries 2.5 CEs at $75.00, and "From Assessment to Action," on measurement-based care, carries 5 CEs at $150.00. Featured courses on the free-course page include an ethics course on countertransference and an Exposure and Response Prevention course for OCD and anxiety disorders.
The site says its courses are "largely skill-based (often with worksheets, scripts, or technique instructions included)" rather than purely theoretical, and that the library is available 24/7. A home-study course ends in a quiz. The FAQ sets the pass mark at 80%, says "unlimited quiz attempts are allowed," and adds that wrong answers are highlighted. After passing the quiz and completing the course evaluation, the learner downloads an instant, signed PDF completion certificate. The social work page answers the deadline question directly: individually enrolled courses "have no time limits or due dates once you're enrolled." Earned credits and certificates are tracked and stored in a personal online dashboard.
Live webinars, consultation and certificate programs
Alongside the recorded library, Online CE Credits runs live events. The upcoming list on the home page included "NDIT Level I: Start-to-Finish Trauma Treatment Interactive Intensive with Live Q&A" at 14 CEs and "EMDR 2.0 Protocols Step by Step," a 3-CE session on working memory taxation, both taught by Dr. Sweeton. The same list shows recurring consultation sessions, such as an EMDR Therapy Lab and "Live Consultation! Resolving Practice Roadblocks in Real Time," which are marked as carrying no CEs. The About page describes this consultation side as "live expert case consultation around deployment of specific treatment modalities and/or presenting client concerns," where clinicians bring a case to the consultant. Its comparison table says a recording of a live webinar is included free afterward.
The menu also lists 16 certificate programs: ACT Therapy Skills, Polyvagal and Somatic Skills, IFS Skills for Trauma, Clinical Trauma Treatment Level 1, DBT Skills and Clinical Applications, Neural Desensitization (NDIT), Anti-Racist Practice, Advanced EMDR Skills, ADHD Assessment and Treatment, Neurocriminology, EMDR Therapy Skills, Anxiety-OCD Diagnosis and Treatment, Neuropsychotherapy, PTSD Treatment, Sex Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. Learner reviews on the home page give a sense of their size: one reviewer completed the 15 CE Certificate in Neuropsychotherapy, and another describes a self-paced Advanced EMDR Skills program as a way "to earn 30+ hours while learning a new tool for my practice".
Prices, the coupon and the membership
Single courses are priced per course, and the FAQ puts the range plainly: "Recorded home-study courses range from about $10 to $30 per CE". The About page's comparison table says completion certificates are included free and that learners pay once, with no annual fee to keep a certificate, and it describes access to paid training content as "Unlimited & Indefinite."
The entry offer is a $100 coupon. A visitor who subscribes to the email list gets a single-use code shown instantly in the confirmation message, good toward one eligible on-demand home-study course; if that course costs more than $100, the learner pays the difference. The FAQ says the coupon "often covers the cost of a full course." It does not apply to live webinars, certificate programs, CE Bundles or a membership.
The membership is the Essentials CE Membership. According to the FAQ, it gives 12 months of access to all live CE webinars, all live consultation events, a library of 200+ on-demand video trainings, and first access to newly released courses. It costs $45 per month or $495 for 12 months, which the site describes as saving one month, with "No obligation to renew after your 12-month term." The menu splits membership into Individual and Institutional options, and the About page says institutional-level discounted plans are available with no application needed. A promotions menu adds a monthly featured promo, current student and new graduate discounts, and partner promos.
Approvals and what the certificate counts for
The FAQ states: "We're NBCC ACEP #6795 and ASWB ACE Provider #1974 (2025-2028)". The About page says the company holds CE sponsorship approval with national professional associations "at the provider level which covers all CE-granting courses." The site is careful about the limit of that: individual state boards decide final acceptance for license renewal, and learners are told to check their state's rules before registering. A Board Approval Search sits in the menu for that purpose.
Community and support
The Peer Forum, titled the Online CE Credits Learning Lounge, is a discussion board where members can start threads about course topics or clinical issues, ask about courses, webinars or certification programs, share resources and connect with peers. A disclaimer states that posts are the views of individual contributors, not of Online CE Credits, and that nothing in the forum is clinical or legal advice.
Support runs by phone and email, and the About page introduces a Customer Care Manager as the main point of contact for course and technical questions. The comparison table promises a "Same-Day Response Guaranteed," describes the refund and exchange policy as "Quality-Guaranteed," and cites a Google rating of 4.9 from 450+ reviews. The community page adds that the team will help verify that a course meets a clinician's specific licensing requirements.
Who it suits
Online CE Credits fits an individual counselor, social worker, MFT or psychologist who wants clinically focused, skills-based CE and likes to work at their own pace. The open-ended access, the 80% pass mark with unlimited retakes and the instant certificates make it easy to fit hours around a caseload. Clinicians who want trauma, EMDR, neuroscience or DBT depth will find the most here, since that is where the live intensives and certificate programs cluster. A practitioner who takes several live webinars a year is the natural candidate for the membership.
The caveat is scope. The approvals named on the site are NBCC and ASWB, so a clinician in another discipline, or one in a state with its own rules, needs to confirm acceptance with their board first, which the site itself advises. Group practices and agencies can look at the institutional plans, though the site publishes no prices for them.
