What NetCE is
NetCE is a continuing education provider for licensed healthcare professionals in the United States and its territories. Its site title spells out the three things it sells, "CME / CEU / CE", and its main pitch is practical: "Meet your state CE requirements, strengthen your expertise with practical, high-quality courses." The dentist page says that for over three decades, millions of healthcare professionals across the nation have relied on NetCE to meet their state license renewal mandates, and elsewhere it cites "30+ years of proven CE expertise."
What sets the site apart from a general course marketplace is how it is organized. You do not start from a subject; you start from your license. The continuing education menu lists a long run of professions: nurse, advanced practice nurse, physician, physician assistant, pharmacist, pharmacy technician, social worker, counselor or therapist, psychologist, certified case manager, certified diabetes educator, nursing assistant, certified surgical assistant, CST/CSFA, dental assistant, dental hygienist, dentist, nursing home administrator, medical assistant, and a catch-all track labeled Other/IACET. Under each profession you pick a jurisdiction, and the list is long too: every state from Alabama to Wyoming, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Palau and the Bahamas, plus a "Non-US" option and a "US Nationally-Certified" option for credentials that are not tied to one state board.
Certification programs
Alongside license renewal, NetCE runs a separate certifications menu aimed at physician assistants, advanced practice nurses and nurse practitioners. Four programs appear there: HRT Certification, Functional Medicine Certification, Women's Health and Hormone Certification, and a Dermatology Certificate. They sit in their own menu next to the license-based CE catalog, which keeps a focused clinical program separate from routine renewal hours.
The dental catalog in detail
The dentist page is the most detailed part of the site and shows how the whole catalog works. NetCE says it has "one of the largest CE libraries online" with over 90 continuing education courses for dental professionals, and it advertises over 450 hours of dental CE. Individual courses "range from 2 CE hours to 15 CE hours to fit your state requirements", so a dentist can fill a small gap with a short course or cover most of a renewal cycle with a few long ones. Topics named on the page run from dental ethics to infection control, and the resource links include "Unlimited CE for Dentists", a "National CE Package" and "Infection Control for Dental Professionals."
On how the material is written, the page says dentists, dental hygienists and dental assistants "bring together their expertise while using a rigorous peer-review process to craft accurate and relevant dental CEUs." It also describes the courses as evidence-based and presented in a clear online format.
For dental credit, the key statement is that "NetCE is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider." The page adds the standard caveat in full: ADA CERP "does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry." It also explains that ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to help dental professionals identify quality providers of continuing dental education. In plain terms, the recognition applies to NetCE as a provider, and each state board still decides what counts toward renewal. The page notes that, depending on where a dental professional is licensed, individual state boards may require mandatory courses and state-specific CEU hours, and it offers a "Choose Your State" selector with separate sections for national and state requirements.
Online, print and the booklet
NetCE still sells print. The dentist page says: "Whether you prefer online or print courses, NetCE offers dental continuing education in the format that works for you." The home page is built around a mailed special offer booklet. If you already have one, the back of the booklet carries a Quick Code and Customer ID that you enter on the site to get started. If you do not, a "Request a Booklet" form asks NetCE to mail one.
The page describes the online courses as "available online, 24/7" and says you can start "whenever, wherever." All Access subscribers can "learn at your own pace from a wide range of healthcare topics."
Certificates and reporting to boards
The feature that saves the most time is reporting. NetCE says you "receive your certification of completion instantly" because it "electronically submits successful course completions hourly to CE Broker and other participating licensing boards." For a professional whose board takes reports through CE Broker, the completion is sent on without a manual upload.
Buying CE: courses, Design a Deal and All Access
There are three ways to pay. The simplest is to browse the library, pick courses and "check out via NetCE Checkout or PayPal."
The second is Design a Deal. The page describes it as a way to "create your own special offer": you pick from the entire course library, customize the bundle, and "your price is determined by the number of courses you choose." Ready-made state mandate offers sit next to it under "Affordable State Mandate Special Offers", built to match a profession and state license requirements.
The third is All Access, a subscription with "unlimited CE from our full library of courses." You choose between a one-year and a multi-year subscription. The dentist page puts a price on it: access to NetCE's entire CE library, "including over +450 hours, for only $175" with All Access. It also notes that the overall cost of a renewal period depends on how many hours each state requires. The page does not split that $175 between the one-year and multi-year terms.
For organizations, the site has a "Group Purchases" link and a section for "NetCE Group Administrators", for buying CE in groups rather than one clinician at a time.
Support and contact
The footer carries a "Contact Us" link, a fax number and a mailing address at a PO box in Sacramento, California. Help, FAQs, an accreditations and approvals page, a "Special Assistance" page, a permission-to-reprint page, and a news and resources section are all linked from the same place.
Who it suits
NetCE suits licensed clinicians who renew on a fixed cycle and want the hours, the certificate and the board report handled in one place. The profession and state structure fits nurses, pharmacists, physicians, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists, counselors and every role on a dental team. Heavy users who need many hours can look at All Access; those with a narrow state mandate can use a special offer or build a deal. Practitioners who prefer reading on paper can order print courses. The trade-off is that the catalog is built around self-study for license renewal, so it suits people collecting hours more than people looking for a classroom.
