What Cursuri Online is
Cursuri Online is a Romanian-language course site for architects, structural and civil engineers, and students of technical universities. It sells and hosts training on the design software those professions use every day, chiefly Allplan, ProtaStructure, ProtaSteel and SCIA Engineer, alongside webinars, quick lessons, conferences and university seminars. It is a learner product: an architect or engineer picks a course, orders it or enrolls in a free one, and works through video tutorials at their own pace. The site's tagline, "Educatie digitala prin platforma cursuri online" (digital education through the online courses platform), sums up the idea, and the footer notes that the site runs on the TopManager platform.
The About page says the company behind it, BIM TEAM DEVELOPMENT SRL, "si-a început activitatea în educatia online din anul 2017" (began its work in online education in 2017) and has worked closely with ALLBIM NET SRL, with educational institutions and with software companies to put online teaching methods in place. Course pages list ALLBIM NET as the producer of the paid crash courses and of the Allplan Prefabricate course, and Allplan Gmbh as the producer of the Allplan Bridge webinar series. The site is written in Romanian, with an English switch in the language menu.
The catalog
The course menu is organized by discipline, and most disciplines carry both courses and webinars: architecture (with news, quick lessons, webinars and conferences), urban planning, interior architecture, structural analysis and modeling, steel and concrete detailing, geotechnics and foundations, infrastructure, building services engineering, BIM management, visualization and energy efficiency. A further section holds books and treatises.
The titles on the home page show how far the catalog runs. Introductory courses include "Allplan - Primii pași în BIM" (Allplan, first steps in BIM), an engineering version of the same course, and a first-steps course on Bimplus, the common data environment. Further along come an advanced Allplan engineering course, advanced parametric modeling in Allplan Bridge, the basics of FEM modeling in SCIA Engineer, a ProtaSteel project designing a steel warehouse, a ProtaStructure course on reinforced concrete frames, Allplan courses on interior architecture and furniture modeling, and an Allplan architecture project built around a house on rocks. Webinar topics include the move from CAD to BIM with Allplan Architecture, Lumion and Bimplus, sun exposure studies in Allplan Urbanism, BIM delivery of architectural models, and ProtaStructure seismic analysis with time history and pushover methods. Each item has a review tab where participants can add an opinion.
How a course works
Two course pages show the format in detail.
Allplan Prefabricate is a basic level course. The page says "Acest curs online se adresează atât studenților, cât și specialiștilor care nu au mai interacționat cu modulul Allplan Precast" (this online course is for students and for specialists who have not yet worked with the Allplan Precast module). It runs through five exercises: a staircase and a slab in the PP editor, then a staircase, a column and a beam built as iParts. The page gives about one hour of video in total ("aproximativ o oră") and says that, depending on experience, the working time for the course varies between 3 and 4 hours. The author is Alexandru Moraru. The page shows an enroll button ("Ma inscriu") rather than a price, and it says the participation diploma "va fi acordată pe baza completării formularului de feedback și a chestionarelor de la finalul fiecărui tutorial video" (will be awarded once the feedback form and the questionnaires at the end of each video tutorial are completed).
Crash Course ProtaStructure is a longer, paid course on reinforced concrete design and advanced seismic analysis, by Adrian Ghencea. Part 1 covers how structural systems are put together, load cases and combinations under the structural Eurocodes, snow and wind actions according to Eurocode, seismic calculation, checking sections and connections under Eurocode 3, and detailing from a 3D model to drawn parts in ProtaSteel. Part 2 moves to modeling reinforced concrete frame and dual systems, coupled and uncoupled concrete walls, traditional seismic analysis with spectra or equivalent static forces, advanced OpenSees analyses (time history and pushover), and generating calculation summaries and quantity reports. The page gives about 10 hours of video ("aproximativ 10 ore"). To enroll, a learner first orders the course.
The About page describes the teaching methods behind all this: "Cursuri video, cursuri format pdf, Streaming live, video la cerere, webinarii" (video courses, PDF courses, live streaming, video on demand, webinars). It says learners study at their own pace, that the course material is there whenever they want to refresh their memory, and that online teaching makes live discussion between teacher and student possible.
Webinars and events
Webinar registration needs a login and a few short questions before signing up. The Allplan Bridge series "Your Challenges - Our Solutions", which its page calls "the new webinar series of 2023", ran in seven sessions of 42 to 60 minutes each: tailored modeling solutions (three approaches to parametric modeling), axis related modeling, BIM and interoperability based on the ISO 19650 information management process, TCL scripting, modeling and analysis of slab girder bridges, construction sequence with creep and shrinkage effects, and interactive bridge design according to EN. The scripting session presents TCL as a language that is easy "for engineers and architects to get started with". All seven sessions are marked on the page as past.
The home page also carries events: The BIM Challenge 2026, described as "școala de vară dedicată educației BIM" (a summer school dedicated to BIM education), an Allplan Student Contest 2025, the GO Digital 2024 live webinars on new software and workflows, and scholarships tied to The BIM Challenge. Around the courses sit scientific articles, an Allplan blog, news on Allplan 2025 features, a jobs section and public profiles.
Prices, free courses and diplomas
The three crash courses on the home page are each listed at 499.00 RON: ProtaStructure, Allplan Engineering (a debugging session and a reinforcement workflow), and SCIA Engineer, GEO5 and Frilo (advanced geotechnical analysis). The price is labeled "Pret fara TVA", so it is shown before VAT. Several other items are marked "Gratuit" (free), among them "Allplan Urbanism - Bază", a SCIA Engineer webinar on modeling a foundation beam on an elastic medium, and an Allplan Architecture course on roof plans and roof surfaces.
What a learner receives at the end is a "Diploma de participare la curs" (course participation diploma), which the Prefabricate page ties to the feedback form and the end of tutorial questionnaires.
Both course pages explain how to get the software. A student downloads an educational license (ProtaSteel in Romanian for the ProtaStructure course, Allplan 2023 in Romanian for Prefabricate), and the pages warn that the license code can take up to 5 working days to arrive. A graduate downloads a trial version instead. Questions go to the site's contact address, and logged in users can open a support ticket ("Deschide un tichet").
Courses for universities
The "Cursuri în universități" section groups course pages for eight universities: Universitatea de Arhitectură și Urbanism Ion Mincu, Universitatea Tehnică de Construcții București (with separate CFDP and FCCIA sections), Universitatea Tehnică din Cluj-Napoca, Universitatea Tehnică Gheorghe Asachi din Iaşi, Universitatea Politehnică Timișoara, Universitatea Transilvania din Brașov, Universitatea Tehnica A Moldovei and Universitatea din Oradea. Items such as a technical drawing and infographics seminar for a named student group show the site also hosts material for university classes. The About page calls online courses "solutia ideala pentru institutiile de invatamant" (the ideal solution for educational institutions).
For employers
The About page makes the case to companies too. Training costs less because "Sunt eliminate cheltuielile pentru transport, cazare, diurne" (transport, accommodation and per diem costs are eliminated), and courses can run inside the company while employees carry on with their work. It adds that many employees cannot keep up their training because classroom schedules clash with their working hours.
Who it suits
- Architects and engineers who already work in Allplan, ProtaStructure, ProtaSteel or SCIA Engineer and want a focused course in Romanian, from first steps in BIM to advanced bridge modeling or seismic analysis.
- Structural engineers who want a long crash course on Eurocode design and OpenSees analyses at a stated price.
- Students at the listed universities, who get course sections for their programs and an educational license route for the software.
- Design and engineering firms on these tools that want staff trained without travel or time away from projects.
The catalog is built around a small set of design programs, so a learner after general management or soft skills training will look elsewhere, and the Allplan Bridge series shown dates from 2023 with every session marked as past. For a Romanian-speaking engineer or architect who wants training on these specific tools, the mix of short free lessons, paid crash courses and university material covers a lot of ground.
