PrepLadder

Tap a star to rate

PrepLadder is an Indian exam preparation app for doctors studying for postgraduate medical entrance and licensing exams. Its page title promises help to "Crack NEET-PG/FMGE/INI-CET/NEET-SS with confidence", and the course menu splits the catalog into four goals: Medical PG, FMGE, Super Speciality and Residency. The home page headline calls these "India's Best NEET PG Preparation Courses" and lists video lectures, QBank, notes, rapid revision and test series as the core of the offer. The company behind it is PrepLadder Pvt. Ltd., and the About page gives its head office as Rajiv Gandhi IT Park in Chandigarh.

How PrepLadder started

The About page tells the story in some detail. Deepanshu Goyal, a doctor, had spent 2 years trying and failing to win a PG seat when he and Vitul, friends from school, got together to build PrepLadder in 2015 with an initial investment of INR 40,000 and a residential basement as an office. In 2018 the founders set out to assemble what they call the Dream Team for Medical PG preparation, at a time when top faculty preferred taking classes offline. It took a year, and the page describes the result as "A team of 19 legends, best in their field". A new app, new content and notes followed in 2019, and the company now describes itself as an ecosystem rather than a testing platform, with "the biggest student community and multiple channel partners". The leadership section names Deepanshu Goyal as co-founder and CEO, Vitul Goyal as co-founder and CTO, and Sahil Goyal as co-founder.

What a student gets

PrepLadder is built around a set of modules that the plan cards describe one by one:

  • Video lectures, described as smart video lectures with animations and real patients, available in English and Hinglish, with a toggle between the two.
  • Notes XI, structured notes in the form of tables, flowcharts and mind maps, plus printed summary charts and, in the latest version, printed flashcards for last-minute revision. Hard copy notes are shipped, and the help center has a section on tracking their delivery.
  • QBank, with 18,500+ MCQs including an Audio QBank and an Image Bank, aligned with the latest exam pattern.
  • Test Series, mock tests designed to simulate real exam difficulty and pressure, alongside subject and mini tests.
  • Rapid Revision, a separate set of high-yield videos and a Rapid Revision QBank for the final weeks before the exam.
  • Treasures, 2000+ summary charts for quick revision.
  • SPARK, an in-app recall system that tracks weak areas and personalizes revision, described in the FAQ as a spaced-repetition flashcard system.
  • Custom Modules, which let a student focus on chosen topics.

Video lessons run only on phones and tablets. The FAQ says video content "is currently only accessible on mobile and tablet devices", while QBank, tests and Custom Modules also work on desktop. The plan comparison lists offline access for premium videos, and the home page adds in-depth analytics with performance graphs to show strengths and weak areas.

The current release is Version XI. The FAQ says it adds 280+ hours of new Rapid Revision videos in English and Hinglish, 50+ hours of Integrated Essentials for system-wise learning, 20 hours of real cadaver dissection videos, and a revamped QBank with 5000+ new questions. The main videos changed by 10% from Version X, and the hard copy notes were updated to match. Students can switch between versions and keep their progress and analytics. Version XI is mainly recorded content: live classes, called RESOLVE, come as an add-on through the Super ELITE Plan.

The four goals

Medical PG covers NEET PG and INI-CET, and is the course the plans page describes in full. FMGE offers "expert-driven content and previous year's topics" for the exam. Super Speciality is aimed at doctors who need to "Manage clinical duties & SS prep", and the catalog lists SS Medicine, SS Surgery and SS Pediatrics. Residency offers "concise, high-impact videos, adapted from renowned textbooks" for ENT, Psychiatry, OBS-GYN and Radiology residency. Courses are bought per goal: the FAQ warns that a student who subscribes to Medical PG and later switches to FMGE loses access to the Medical PG content and keeps only the free content.

Plans and prices

The Medical PG plans page publishes starting prices for two named plans and a third custom option:

  • PRO Plan, starting at ₹11,899 (shown against ₹21,000). It includes the QBank with 18,500+ MCQs, Audio QBank and Image Bank, a test series of 21 mock tests, SPARK, the Rapid Revision QBank and Treasures.
  • ELITE Plan, marked "Recommended", starting at ₹13,500 (shown against ₹24,000). It adds the video lectures, Notes XI, a test series of 300+ mock tests including mini and subject tests, 280 hours of PYQ-tagged Rapid Revision videos, 50 hours of Integrated Essentials, 20 hours of cadaveric dissection videos and printed summary charts.
  • Custom, described as "Plans suitable for your Prof preparation", lets a student choose videos, QBank and notes tailored to their own prep.

A Super ELITE plan appears in the comparison table and carries the RESOLVE live classes. The help center lists EMI among its payment topics, and the footer links to a refund policy and a grievance redressal page.

Accounts, devices and support

PrepLadder is strict about account sharing. A student may be logged in on two devices at once, and the FAQ warns that a third device may lead to the account being flagged or permanently blocked. Premium users must complete KYC right after buying a plan, using a document such as a passport or Aadhaar card, and logging in on a third device requires re-verification and logs out the first. Screenshots of the video player and notes are blocked, and an iOS account seen taking them more than 3 times is locked out of content for 15 days.

Support runs by phone, with separate sales and support lines open 10 AM to 7 PM, Monday to Sunday, and a help center grouped by account, modules, technical issues, notes and delivery, and payments.

Results the site shows

The home page names toppers with their results: Dr. Vaibhav Garg (Rank 1), Dr. Anjali (Rank 2), Dr. Saikumar (Rank 3) and Dr. Naisargee (Rank 4) in NEET PG, and Dr. Manoj (Score 256), Dr. Shubham (Score 242) and Dr. Meet (Score 241) in FMGE. Dr. Vaibhav Garg is quoted saying: "During my breaks, I used to attempt MCQs from the QBank 6.0 to utilize my time wisely. And, the Champions Exams were the major building block of my preparation and success."

Who it suits and who it does not

PrepLadder fits Indian MBBS graduates preparing for NEET PG and INI-CET who want one subscription that covers lectures, notes, a large question bank and mock tests, and who are comfortable studying mostly on a phone or tablet. The Hinglish toggle suits students who would rather hear a lecture in Hinglish than in English alone. FMGE candidates, super-speciality aspirants and residents preparing for ENT, psychiatry, OBS-GYN or radiology exams each have their own course.

The PRO Plan suits a student who already has lectures from elsewhere and mainly needs questions, mocks and revision, while the ELITE Plan is the complete package. A few points to weigh: videos do not play on a PC, live teaching costs extra through Super ELITE, and the two-device limit with KYC checks leaves no room for sharing an account.
