What ATI is

ATI, short for Assessment Technologies Institute, is a nursing education company with a student store that covers three stages of a nurse's path: the ATI TEAS entrance exam before nursing school, review and practice during the program, and NCLEX preparation at the end of it. The student site describes its TEAS prep as "Built by the creators of the TEAS" and says it is trusted by more than 800,000 students. That origin is the main reason a pre-nursing student looks at ATI first: the company that writes the entrance exam also sells the prep for it, and the TEAS registration runs through the same site.

The company frames its tools around assessment. In its own words, "Our tools show what students know in their heads and what's needed to help them follow their hearts." The site splits into three doors: one for students preparing for or taking the TEAS, one for nursing students, and a separate site for educators, deans and directors, which is where schools deal with ATI.

TEAS prep and registration

The TEAS menu lists a full ladder of products, so a student can buy as much or as little help as they need:

  • ATI TEAS Comprehensive Package and ATI TEAS Basic Package, each sold with a printed book or with an eBook.
  • ATI TEAS SmartPrep Tutorial.
  • ATI TEAS Online Practice Test Package, in Form A and Form B. The site notes that the two forms offer a different set of questions, so a student can sit two separate practice tests rather than repeating one.
  • ATI TEAS Study Guide, at $24.99 with a printed book or $19.99 with an eBook.
  • ATI TEAS Mobile App, at $16.99 for 30 days or $35.99 for 90 days, with a Free Version also offered, through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  • ATI TEAS Flashcards.

A Compare TEAS Prep page lines the options up side by side. Each product's buy box asks students to review device requirements and access duration details before purchase, which matters for the app and online products that run on a fixed access window.

Registering for the TEAS itself happens on the same site, in one of two ways. In person means sitting the exam on campus at a school or at a testing center such as PSI, with an in-person proctor. Remote online means taking it from home, or another location, with an online remote proctor. Supporting pages cover TEAS exam details, TEAS transcripts and TEAS prep tips, and ATI's podcast has on-demand episodes such as "Five Tips to Improve Your TEAS Score," aimed at students who missed their target school's score the first time.

Nursing school resources

Once in the program, students can draw on a set of topic tutorials and review modules. The nursing school menu covers pharmacology, adult medical surgical, anatomy and physiology, community health, fundamentals, leadership, maternal newborn, mental health, pediatric nursing and nutrition, with a Review Module Package that bundles the modules, plus a Test-Taking Strategies Seminar, Learning Strategies and a product called Achieve.

Two products get featured placement. Pharmacology Made Easy is described as "This interactive, online tutorial was designed to break down and simplify one of the most difficult subjects in nursing school, Pharmacology." It sits beside a Pharmacology Review Module and a Dosage Calculation & Safe Medication Administration product, so the subject ATI calls one of the most difficult in nursing school has three separate resources. An online Anatomy and Physiology practice exam "is designed to test your general knowledge" of that foundation course.

The Learning System, presented in one of ATI's student webinars, gives students NCLEX-style items to quiz themselves with during the program, and lets them create their own items based on what they really need to study.

NCLEX prep

For the licensing exam, ATI groups three products under NCLEX Prep Solutions and says that "For optimal results, use our products together."

Virtual-ATI is online one-to-one coaching. The home page says "A master's-prepared Nurse Educator will serve as your personal tutor to guide you through online NCLEX preparation," starting with an evaluation, after which a personalized study plan is developed for the student. The NCLEX page describes the coach as a nurse educator with experience creating individualized test prep plans.

Live Review is ATI's in-person, nurse educator-led NCLEX review, with locations throughout the United States. The home page makes a strong claim for it: the review "will guarantee you pass the NCLEX," and "Our pass rates are more than 96%." The NCLEX page puts it more modestly, saying students who complete an ATI Live Review have a substantially higher NCLEX pass rate than the national average. Both claims are the company's own.

BoardVitals is the question bank in the set, offering close to 5,000 questions across PN and RN programs to study for the NCLEX, so it covers practical nursing as well as registered nursing candidates. ATI's webinar on the Learning System and BoardVitals pairs the two, with the Learning System for coursework and BoardVitals for the NCLEX experience.

An NCLEX Student Support Center, billed as "Your home base for NCLEX support," gathers the rest.

Webinars, podcasts and community

ATI runs a steady calendar of live webinars for students, most with multiple dates. Recent titles include "Lock In with ATI: NCLEX Prep for Graduating Students," "NCLEX Readiness in 2026 How to Prepare," in which nurse educators share updates about the types of NCLEX questions students will see, and interactive, case-based sessions on clinical skills. "Ask ATI for Students" takes a different topic every month and invites questions about nursing, ATI products and industry trends. ATI's Facebook page posts an NCLEX-style Question of the Week along with live events, and the ATI Nursing Blog carries articles about nursing school, passing the NCLEX and finding the right job.

Prices and access

The student store shows prices for the TEAS Study Guide and the TEAS Mobile App, as above. The site lists no prices for the packages, tutorials, modules or NCLEX products on its overview pages; they are sold through the same store, and each buy box points students to the access duration details for that product. Students log in with their own account, and ATI also runs an affiliate program.

Who it suits

ATI suits a pre-nursing student who wants prep from the people who write the TEAS: the $19.99 eBook study guide and the app are low-cost ways in, the two practice test forms give two separate sets of questions, and the comprehensive package is there for anyone who wants more structure. Registration, prep and transcripts all live on one site. Nursing students get topic review for the hardest courses, with pharmacology and dosage calculation best served. At the end of the program, a graduate can mix a large question bank, one-to-one coaching from a master's-prepared nurse educator and an in-person review course.

The limits are practical. The NCLEX Live Review is in person, so it depends on reaching one of the locations, and the pass-rate and guarantee claims rest on the company's own figures. Prices for most of the larger packages have to be checked in the store before buying.
