What NURSING.com is

NURSING.com is an online study platform for nursing students, best known for NCLEX prep but pitched, in its own page title, as "More Than NCLEX Prep . . . A Complete Nursing School Survival System." It covers five stages: pre-nursing (HESI and TEAS prep), nursing school itself, NCLEX-RN prep, NCLEX-PN prep for LPN and LVN candidates, and certifications ("CCRN & beyond"). The pricing section says every package includes everything "from pre-nursing through your first year as a nurse," with new grad support at the end.

The headline numbers come from the company: a 99.25% NCLEX pass rate across all students, 700,000+ students, and a 4.9 average student rating. The home page's promise is blunt: "Pass the NCLEX. Move on with your life."

SIMCLEX and the practice bank

At the center sits SIMCLEX, which the site calls "The only patented adaptive NCLEX simulator in existence." Every question adjusts to the student's previous answers, as on the real NCLEX, so no two exams are the same. SIMCLEX pinpoints gaps "so you stop wasting time reviewing what you already know," feeds its results into a personalized study plan, and produces a ReadyScore that shows how ready a student is before test day. Anyone can try it first: "15 free questions. No credit card. No catch."

The question bank behind it holds 6,500+ NCLEX-style practice questions according to the plan descriptions (the banner at the top of the page gives 7,500+). They are built for the Next Generation NCLEX, and the site stresses clinical judgment over recall: "The NGN doesn't test what you remember. It tests how you think." Questions come with detailed rationales. A custom quiz builder, which the site calls NPQ, lets students drill any topic, at any difficulty and any length, so a student weak in pharmacology, cardiac or pediatrics can target just that.

Study plans, lessons and NurseJon AI

Every answer, right or wrong, updates the student's study plan, which NURSING.com brands as Adaptive Brain, so it always shows what to tackle next. Alongside it run 2,100+ lesson videos. The FAQ puts them at 10 to 15 minutes each and describes them as visual and chunked, aimed at students who struggle with dense textbooks, including those with ADHD or dyslexia, who can pause, rewind and rewatch at their own pace. Visual cheat sheets back up the videos, and the curriculum follows the order of a nursing school program rather than jumping straight to the NCLEX.

NurseJon AI is a 24/7 tutor that answers students' specific questions. The menu also lists private tutoring, an Academy, books, Flash Notes, survival packages and apps, and free resources include NCLEX Flash Notes, cheatsheets, a podcast and a blog.

The FAQ makes two claims about results during nursing school: members save an average of 4.8 hours per week, and students report an average grade improvement of 11.6% within their first semester. Both are the company's own figures.

Plans and prices

The pricing section says every plan includes the same features and that students "just pick the timeline," with a short quiz that asks when the NCLEX is and recommends a plan. The standard prices are:

  • Monthly: a 3-day free trial, then $59 a month until canceled, with no commitment. This is the plan recommended to students 3 to 6 months from their exam.
  • 3 Months: $149 as a one-time payment for 3 full months of access, no contract, no free trial and instant access. It adds unlimited SIMCLEX attempts, a test-taking strategies course and three free PDF eBooks: 140 Must Know Meds, 63 Must Know Lab Values and Nursing Mnemonics.
  • Lifetime: 9 monthly payments of $55, after which access never expires, with all future updates included and three PDF question books: 301 Cardiac, 301 Fundamentals and 301 GI/GU NCLEX Q&A with rationales. Payments can be canceled at any time.

A limited-time block on the same page cuts these to $49 a month (17% off), $99 for 3 months (35% off) and 9 payments of $39 for Lifetime (30% off), describing it as the full platform "just cheaper for a few days." The plan list covers SIMCLEX, the Adaptive Brain study plans, the question bank, the lesson videos, NurseJon AI, the ReadyScore, nursing cheatsheets, HESI and TEAS pre-nursing prep and new grad support.

The 200% money-back guarantee

The guarantee is the platform's boldest claim. The FAQ states: "If you complete a SIMCLEX simulation and pass, but then fail the actual NCLEX, we'll refund your entire purchase and match that amount." The home page puts it as a full refund plus the same amount matched back, "200% back in your pocket." It applies to students who pass a SIMCLEX simulation and then fail the real exam.

What students say

Student stories fill the page. Myah Eggert, RN, BSN graduate, writes "The SIMCLEX tests are EXACTLY like the real exam and helped me overcome my test anxiety." Elisabet Hernandez describes coming back "After 7 years away from nursing school due to a major accident" and passing on that attempt. Melodie Lee writes "As a working parent, nursing school was overwhelming. NURSING.com's practice tests were incredibly helpful for NCLEX prep. Worth every penny." Amy, a nursing student, used it for LPN and is "now using it again for RN," and an anonymous reviewer passed in 75 questions on a third NCLEX attempt after starting with NURSING.com. Macy Ann, RN, BSN, passed in 85 questions on the first try.

For nurse educators

Schools are a second audience. The site offers enterprise solutions, a free educator account, the Happy Nurse Educator Podcast, lesson plan templates and a free demo, so a nursing program can bring the same lessons and questions into its own teaching.

Who it suits

NURSING.com suits nursing students who want one subscription to carry them from the start of the program to the NCLEX, and NCLEX candidates who want adaptive practice with a clear readiness signal. The monthly plan with its 3-day trial fits students 3 to 6 months out, the 3-Month plan fits a focused final push with unlimited SIMCLEX attempts, and the Lifetime plan fits a student still early in school who wants access that never expires. LPN and LVN candidates get NCLEX-PN prep, pre-nursing students get HESI and TEAS prep, and visual learners and students with learning differences are a stated target of the short video lessons.

The pass rate, time savings and grade figures are the company's own. The guarantee is generous, but it hinges on passing a SIMCLEX simulation first, so students who want its protection should plan to complete one before the real exam.
