What Lecturio is
Lecturio is an online study platform for medical and nursing students, combining video lessons, a question bank, written concept pages and structured study schedules in one subscription. The home page describes it as "The Smart Study Tool to Master Concepts in Medicine" and as "Award-Winning. AI-Augmented. All-in-One." It is aimed at several groups at once: MD and DO students, premedical students, physician associate students, LPN/LVN and RN nursing students, nurse practitioner students on FNP and AGNP tracks, and healthcare professionals taking accredited courses. The site is run by Lecturio GmbH and is available in English and Spanish.
The Lecturio brand also has a German-language site, lecturio.de, a broader video learning platform for exam prep in law and medicine and for professional training, which links back to lecturio.com for medical education in English.
The building blocks
Every exam track is assembled from four parts, shown side by side on the home page: "Qbank with AI Tutor", "Video Lessons", "Learning Paths" and "Concept Pages". The USMLE Step 1 page gives the numbers for each.
The Qbank. It holds 2,200+ USMLE Step 1 questions with in-depth video and text rationales, high-quality illustrations, First Aid references and performance tracking with adaptive review. The new AI Tutor sits inside it; the page says "An AI-tutor will be at your side, assisting you in reaching the correct answer," and recommends working its real-time reasoning support into the daily study routine.
Video lessons. The library holds 3,900+ comprehensive video lessons with integrated recall questions, downloadable slides, detailed illustrations and 3D models, and summaries. The Step 1 page names the educators behind them, including Stephen Holt, MD, MS (internal medicine, Yale School of Medicine), Helen Farrell, MD (psychiatry, Harvard Medical School), James Pickering, PhD (anatomy, University of Leeds), Thad Wilson, PhD (physiology), Sean Elliot, MD (microbiology), Pravin Shukle, MD (pharmacology), Richard Mitchell, MD (pathology) and Kevin Ahern, PhD (biochemistry).
Concept pages. There are 1,450+ in-depth concept pages, each linked to video lessons and Qbank tests, with images, charts and tables. The site says they are built and peer-reviewed by US-trained physicians and are kept high-yield and up to date.
Learning paths. For Step 1, students can follow a 40-Day USMLE Step 1 Schedule, a 60-Day USMLE Step 1 Schedule or a 21-Day Intensive USMLE Qbank Training, plus practice exams and a self-assessment. The page says the paths are designed by top USMLE coaches and tell students "what, when, and how to study." A separate Qbank walkthrough course coaches students on exam strategy, and the resources menu also lists Step 2 study schedules.
Exams and courses covered
The medical side covers the MCAT, USMLE Step 1, USMLE Step 2 CK, NBME subject exams, COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2 and the PANCE for physician associates. A long list of international exams follows: AMC CAT, ENARM, FMGE, IFOM, MCCQE Part 1, MIR, NEET-UG, NEET-PG, PLAB, PLE, PNA, UKMLA and UKMPPD. Course libraries run by subject, from anatomy, biochemistry and physiology through pathology, pharmacology and microbiology to clinical subjects such as cardiology, emergency medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, psychiatry and radiology, and the premed area is organized by basic science subject, by system and by clinical science. Lecturio MCAT has its own product page.
For nursing, the exam focus is the NCLEX-RN, with separate tracks for RN, LPN and NP students. Nursing courses include anatomy and physiology for nurses, clinical skills, critical care, dosage calculation, fundamentals of nursing, gerontology, hemodynamic monitoring, leadership, maternity nursing, med-surg and pathophysiology, mental health, pediatric nursing, physical assessment, public health and study skills, along with cheat sheets. The resources menu adds NCLEX practice questions alongside the USMLE and MCAT ones.
The Certificates area holds the accredited courses: "Academic Diplomas and Certificates of Advanced Studies and single courses to earn formal ECTS credits," according to the plan section. There are also non-accredited courses such as a Crisis Support Worker Course, and pre-nursing courses.
What Lecturio says it achieves
The home and Step 1 pages report a 20 point increase in NBME CBSSA scores using supplemental study routines from Lecturio, and a 37% increase in correct answers on first-attempt Qbank questions. They also say students increased their exam confidence, preferred the flexibility, and would recommend Lecturio to a friend. These are the company's own figures. Student reviews are attributed by first name and school. Mark, a Wayne State University student, calls it "Short, succinct and straight to the point. The high yield stuff. The need to know." Steven, at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, says it helped with Step 1 and Step 2 and "continues to prove useful for residency board preparation."
Plans, trial and guarantee
The Step 1 page sets out the plans. Medical Basic gives full library access to videos and concept pages, without the Qbank and smart exam prep features. Medical Premium adds the Qbank with the AI tutor and performance tracking, structured study plans, expert-built exam and board prep, and an AI Assistant. Billing can run every 3 months, every year or every 2 years, with the 24-month option labeled "SAVE up to 50%." Accredited Courses start at $299.
The first 7 days are free: "Pay after 7 days, cancel anytime." The FAQ adds a 10-day money-back guarantee on the 12-month and 24-month plans. Students can also create a free account, and the page invites them to try the Qbank, the video library and the concept pages for free, under the banner "Start for free. Upgrade anytime." The site works on computers and smartphones, and the footer links to pages for canceling or withdrawing from a contract.
For schools and hospitals
Lecturio sells to medical schools, nursing schools, hospitals and other organizations, with the pitch to "Drive precision medical education at your university, hospital, business or health system." The home page presents two institutional tools alongside it: Healer, a clinical reasoning curriculum "now enhanced by Lecturio," and SimTutor, which offers 2D and 3D simulations for medical, nursing and allied health students and can run standalone or integrated with Lecturio's video lectures, question banks and AI tutoring. The institution menu also lists a Learning Hub and a Development Initiative.
Who it suits
Lecturio suits US medical students preparing for Step 1 who want a Qbank, a full video library and a day-by-day schedule in one place, with the 40-day, 60-day and 21-day paths matching different amounts of lead time. Students who learn from lectures can start on Basic and add the Qbank later. The international exam list makes it relevant to students preparing for PLAB, UKMLA, NEET-PG, MCCQE and similar exams, and nursing students get an NCLEX-RN track with a broad course library. Healthcare professionals who need formal credit can look at the ECTS-accredited courses.
It is a self-study platform built on company-produced content rather than live classes, so students who need a personal tutor will rely on the AI tutor and their own discipline.
