What Bootcamp is

Bootcamp.com is an online exam-prep platform for health science students, built as a family of question banks and video courses that each target one exam. Its tagline is "Study Smarter, Score Higher." For nursing, the product is NCLEX Bootcamp, which prepares graduates for the NCLEX-RN. In dentistry it runs DAT Bootcamp for the Dental Admission Test and INBDE Bootcamp for the dental board exam; in medicine, MCAT Bootcamp and Med School Bootcamp for USMLE Step 1 and coursework; plus OAT Bootcamp for optometry and Anatomy and Chemistry Bootcamps for natural sciences courses. All of them share the same approach: realistic practice questions, short teaching videos, and explanations that show why each answer is right or wrong.

NCLEX Bootcamp says over 200,000 nursing students have trusted it to pass the NCLEX. Its creator, Dr. Emily Wilson, introduces it on the NCLEX page, and the FAQ says it is made by "a small team of passionate nurse educators," all master's or doctorally prepared nurses from different clinical specialties and teaching backgrounds.

NCLEX Bootcamp, piece by piece

The FAQ lists what a membership includes:

  • 2,600+ NCLEX questions, described as "vague like the real exam," in an exam-like testing interface, with weekly updates based on student feedback. Each rationale ends in Key Takeaways with illustrations, and many questions carry video breakdowns.
  • 50 NCLEX cases with video explanations. The case walkthroughs "teach you how to think like an RN" and cover the most common scenarios the NCLEX asks, which matters because the Next Generation NCLEX leans on clinical judgment.
  • Crash course videos on the most tested concepts, each followed by a bite-sized quiz, taught by NCLEX experts.
  • 4 readiness exams that predict the chance of passing based on Bootcamp's data and let students compare their performance with past students.
  • 140+ printable cheat sheets, organized by subject, with related cheat sheets shown for every topic.
  • A study schedule creator that builds a personalized plan in seconds, tracks progress, shows what to study next and adjusts when life gets in the way.
  • A Pass Targets Tracker. The page states that "99% of our students who meet all targets pass."
  • A Next Gen NCLEX strategy course, which the FAQ says teaches students to think like a nurse and to prioritize.
  • Ask Bootcamp AI, for instant answers to content questions when a student is stuck on a concept.
  • A mobile app for iOS and Android, rated 4.9 stars with 15K reviews according to the page.
  • An NCLEX pass guarantee.

A tagging system lets students target the questions and concepts that need review, and custom tests can be built from the bank. The page says the product is updated for the 2026 NCLEX-RN Test Plan, and the FAQ claims NCLEX Bootcamp is "the only nursing resource created specifically for the Next Gen NCLEX." Videos can be sped up or slowed down from the player's settings.

What students say about it

The NCLEX page is dense with student reviews, and they return to the same points: how close the questions feel to the real exam, the video rationales, the cheat sheets and the schedule. One reviewer writes "I printed the study calendar and did that for 30 days. To me, the NCLEX felt like I was working the Bootcamp case studies." Another says "Bootcamp tells you why wrong answers are wrong in addition to the rationale for the correct answer," adding that "The images and charts were great for making complex topics easier to access and organize in my brain." Several reviewers mention passing at 85 questions, and some describe passing after failing a first attempt elsewhere. The FAQ also says NCLEX-PN candidates can use it, since the PN exam tests highly similar content with only minor differences, though the question bank is designed for the NCLEX-RN.

The pass guarantee

The 2-month and 3-month NCLEX Bootcamp options come with a pass guarantee: a student who fails the NCLEX after meeting all three Pass Targets gets their entire payment refunded. The conditions are specific. The 2-month or 3-month membership must be bought at least 30 days before the exam date, all three Pass Targets on the Performance page must be met before the exam, and the student must give the name of their accredited nursing program in the US or Canada along with the result notifying them of the failed attempt.

Free resources, membership and support

Students can start studying for free before upgrading; one reviewer describes starting on the free trial and committing to the 3-month membership. Outside the paid product, Bootcamp publishes a free NCLEX study guide, a study schedule tool, cheat sheets, a Question of the Day, a guide to preparing for the Next Gen NCLEX, an "After the NCLEX" page and an NCLEX Bootcamp Study Group on Facebook. For those who prefer paper, the FAQ links printed 1-month, 2-month and 3-month study schedules, and the blog adds a 12-week schedule.

Membership terms are flexible. Payment can be split through Klarna or Afterpay into 4 interest-free payments. A student can buy now and ask support to pause the account until they are ready to start, and active upgraded memberships can be extended from the account page before they expire. The NCLEX page links to a separate Pricing page for membership prices. Support runs through a chat button on every page and email, and the FAQ says the team of NCLEX experts will answer any question. Nursing schools can buy institutional access: Bootcamp says it has helped dozens of nursing schools improve their NCLEX pass rates and offers educators a quick demo.

The rest of the platform

The other Bootcamps follow the same model with their own numbers. DAT Bootcamp says it is trusted by over 90% of pre-dental students and mimics the real DAT in style, content and test interface. INBDE Bootcamp offers 3,000+ practice questions and is described as the only resource made in partnership with Mental Dental. Med School Bootcamp has 2,500+ Step 1 questions, short videos and 500+ real cadaveric images in its anatomy bank. MCAT Bootcamp teaches through 150 AAMC-style passages with step-by-step video explanations, and one student credits it with moving them from a 499 practice exam to a 515 on test day. Anatomy Bootcamp adds 707+ bite-sized lesson videos. The home page says over 90% of pre-dental and dental students studied with Bootcamp last year.

Who it suits

NCLEX Bootcamp suits nursing graduates preparing for the Next Generation NCLEX-RN who want a question bank that feels like the real test, plus enough teaching (video walkthroughs, cheat sheets, a strategy course) to fix weak areas rather than just drill them. The Pass Targets give a concrete finish line, and the guarantee rewards students who buy early and reach those targets. Repeat test takers get structure, working nurses get a schedule that bends around shifts, and the app makes short study blocks practical. NCLEX-PN candidates can use it too, with the caveat that it is built for the RN exam. For dental, medical and optometry students, the same platform covers the DAT, INBDE, MCAT, Step 1 and OAT.

The guarantee has firm conditions, and it applies only to the 2-month and 3-month options bought at least 30 days ahead, so students on a tight timeline should plan for that.
