OSHA Online Center

Tap a star to rate

OSHA Online Center is an online store for workplace safety courses, aimed mainly at individual workers in construction and general industry who need an OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour card, and at employers buying training for crews. Its About page calls it "a leading eLearning platform for workplace safety and health" and says its goal is "to make online safety trainings as easy and effective as possible." The Outreach courses are not its own authorization: every page notes that "OSHA Outreach courses are provided in partnership with UL Solutions PureSafety, an OSHA-authorized online Outreach provider." The About page claims "1200+ Health & Safety Online Courses Available" and says "our online courses start at only $7.99."

The courses

The core of the catalog is OSHA Outreach training in its two levels and two industries. The home page explains the split: "The OSHA 10-hour courses are essential courses created for entry-level workers. The OSHA 30-hour courses are for supervisors and safety managers," and each comes in a construction and a general industry version, with general industry covering "manufacturing, assembly, warehousing, and retail." The 30-hour construction course "trains them in mitigating on-site hazards in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR and creating a culture of safety at worksites."

The site also notes that "residents of New York state have to enroll in separate OSHA outreach courses," and sells New York versions of the 10-hour and 30-hour courses. The New York 10-hour construction course is "specifically for entry-level workers who perform construction and demolition activities within New York borough jurisdictions." The New York 10-hour general industry course is marked as proctored, and the New York 30-hour construction course is described as preparing workers "according to New York State Local Law 196." For New York City construction sites the catalog adds Site Safety Training (SST) card renewals and refreshers, such as an 8-hour SST Worker's Card Refresher and a 16-hour SST Supervisor's Card Refresher, some offered in Chinese and Spanish. The 16-hour supervisor renewal package is pitched as the way for supervisors to "ensure continued adherence with the New York City Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) requirements."

Spanish-speaking workers get a long list of options: Spanish OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour courses for construction and general industry, plus "Spanish Voice Authentication" versions of the 10-hour and 30-hour construction courses and the 10-hour general industry course. Beyond the Outreach core there are shorter courses, such as a 2-hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness course in Spanish, and the course page filters titles by duration in bands of 0-1 hours, 1-6 hours and 6-40 hours.

The site describes its teaching as "engaging training sessions that include case studies, demonstrations, and interactive exercises." On keeping content current, the About page says that "prior to adding online courses to the database, our staff conducts an investigation into current standards and any possible changes," and that each course "is updated on a regular basis."

Prices

Prices are printed on the course cards, which makes comparison easy. The home page frames low pricing as part of the mission: "While we are a for-profit platform, OSHA Online Center believes workers at all levels deserve safety training at a cost-efficient price." From the home and course pages:

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction and OSHA 10-Hour General Industry: $89.00 each, the same for the New York and Spanish versions.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction: $189.00, also for the New York and Spanish construction versions.
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry: $250.00, the same for the New York and Spanish general industry versions.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Construction bundle: $249.00.
  • 8-hour SST worker refresher options: $300.00; 16-hour SST supervisor renewal and refresher options: $500.00.
  • 2-hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness in Spanish: $90.00.

The About page lists "No Hidden Fees" among its selling points and adds a promise: "We guarantee that you won't find a better deal!" A banner across the site advertises an OSHA Training Scholarship ("Few Seats Left") with an application form, and the menu includes a Group Discount page for buyers training several people. The site also links to a refund policy page.

Certificates, cards and access

The About page states that "trainees who complete all of our courses receive an instant certificate of completion. Those who complete OSHA 10 and 30-Hour courses are also delivered a Department of Labor (DOL) card." It lists "Free DOL Card Delivery" as a feature and explains the point of the instant certificate: "After successfully completing the virtual learning program, you may immediately print your certificate." So a worker can hand an employer proof of completion the same day, while the official DOL card follows.

Access is flexible. The platform is mobile-friendly, and the About page says "you will have six months to finish our distance learning program once you begin," a structure it describes as built around "the difficulties inherent in your everyday schedule."

Support and extras

Support runs by phone and email, and the About page makes two specific promises: the support department "is accessible 24 hours a day," and "our customer service staff responds to emails within 15 minutes." The site carries written customer reviews and a video reviews page with clips from named learners of its OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour construction courses.

Two extras sit beside the courses. American Recruits, linked from the main menu, is a job board where workers can "find OSHA 10/30 jobs in your city" on a live map, and employers can post a job to "reach OSHA-trained talent closest to your site." A Partner With Us page invites other businesses to cross-promote with the site. A running blog covers practical safety topics such as scaffold hazards, confined space rescue and OSHA 510 training.

Who it suits

OSHA Online Center suits an individual worker who wants a DOL Outreach card at a clearly posted price, finished on a phone or laptop within six months, with a certificate to print the moment they pass. Its range of Spanish and voice-authenticated courses makes it a practical choice for Spanish-speaking crews, and the New York versions and SST refreshers cover workers in that state and on New York City sites. The job board is a useful bonus for someone who just earned a card and is looking for work.

For employers, the group discount page and posted prices make budgeting simple, though the site says more about individual purchases than about tools for managing a team's training. For a company that needs a few workers carded quickly, the process is direct.
