Ireland Safety Training
Tap a star to rate
Ireland Safety Training is an Irish provider of online health and safety courses, sold one course at a time to individuals and in bulk to employers who need staff trained and certified. Ireland Safety Training Ltd. describes itself as a legally registered Irish company, and its pages are built around Irish law: the courses, it says, map to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the General Application Regulations 2007, the rules that set training duties for Irish employers. The site calls itself "Ireland's Leading Health and Safety Training Provider" and "The #1 Choice in Ireland," and claims 749,500+ certified learners, a 4.9 average rating from reviews it points visitors to on Google Maps, and a 98% pass rate. A learner registers, pays by card, studies online, takes a short test and downloads a certificate the moment they pass.
The course catalog
The catalog covers induction, refresher and role-specific workplace safety. Courses listed on the home page include:
- Manual Handling, 45 minutes, labeled theory plus a practical part, and a theory-only version
- Patient Handling Training, Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels and Ladder Safety Training
- Food Safety & HACCP Level 1 & 2 as a bundle, Food Safety and HACCP Level 3, and Food Allergen Awareness
- Fire Safety Training, Fire Warden (Fire Marshal) and Fire Extinguisher
- Emergency First Aid At Work
- Health & Safety Induction for Employees and Health and Safety Training for Managers, the longest course at 8-9 hours
- Sexual Harassment Training for Employees, Risk Assessment, Lone Worker Training and Warehouse Safety Training
- Slips, Trips and Falls; Asbestos Awareness; COSHH Training covering hazardous substances and chemical safety; Infection Prevention & Control; Legionella; Noise Awareness; Electrical Safety; Working in Confined Spaces; Protective Equipment PPE; Office Safety; and Display Screen Equipment
Most courses run 1-2 hours, a few take 2 or 2-3 hours, and Manual Handling takes 45 minutes. The site suggests building role-based sets, for example Working at Heights, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Fire Safety and Emergency First Aid for a construction worker, and Office Health & Safety, Fire Warden and PPE for an office employee, with managerial courses as a next step for future safety officers.
Accreditation and certificates
This is where a buyer should read carefully, because the claims are strong. The home page says every course is "CPD Certified, QQI accredited and RoSPA approved," and the course cards carry badges such as QQI, CPD, HSE, RoSPA and IIRSM, with IATP on Asbestos Awareness. The FAQ adds that the food safety and hospitality courses carry Institute of Hospitality endorsement. The wording is not identical everywhere: the separate LMS page describes the same courses as "CPD certified, QQI aligned and RoSPA approved." The courses are written, the site says, by its own licensed Chartered (CMIOSH) health and safety consultants with NFQ Level 6 and QQI Level 6 qualifications, and are reviewed regularly against Irish and European legislation and HSA guidance.
Certificates are issued the moment a learner passes. The home page puts it this way: "Pass the test and your accredited health and safety certificate is ready that very second." Each certificate carries a unique verification URL and code so an employer, insurer or HSA inspector can check it, and it stays stored in the learner's account to download again later. Most course cards show a certificate validity of 3 years; Emergency First Aid At Work shows 2 years. The site says the certificates are recognized across Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Studying and the test
Everything is online and self-paced, with 24/7 access on a phone, tablet or laptop. Lessons combine short HD videos, illustrations, animations and readable text, with dark mode and zoom options, and progress saves automatically so a learner can switch devices mid-module. The site promises lifetime access that never expires and no deadlines. At the end comes a short online test, marked instantly. The FAQ says assessment questions "cover exactly what you have just studied in each module," and retakes are free and unlimited: "you can retake any health and safety course assessment as many times as you need - completely free, no extra fees, no time pressure." The FAQ also welcomes learners under 18 preparing for a first job or an apprenticeship, and mentions learners on social welfare or Skillnet Ireland funded pathways. A money back guarantee is advertised on every page.
Training a team
For employers, the site offers what it calls a free management suite, the Employer Dashboard. A manager can register staff in bulk, assign courses to groups, follow each employee's progress in real time and download every certificate from one screen, guided by an Employer Manual Guide. The FAQ says the support team will help map the right courses to a workplace's duties, usually in one short conversation, and describes a friendly Irish support team available 24/7. The site says it works with businesses from teams of five to national organizations with hundreds of staff.
Pricing
Prices are published on every course card, with a limited-time offer the site calls "the lowest prices we have ever published." Standard courses are listed at €75 and currently sell for €32. Food Safety and HACCP Level 3 drops from €110 to €49, and Health and Safety Training for Managers from €175 to €95. The FAQ says the price "always includes full course access, unlimited free assessment retakes and your accredited health and safety certificate the moment you pass," with no subscription.
Team discounts are applied automatically in the cart, and the largest one that applies is used:
- 15% off any 3 different courses
- 10% off 10+ courses
- 20% off 50+ courses
- any 5 different courses for €100 flat, or €20 per course, excluding HACCP Level 3 and Health and Safety for Managers
Who it suits
Ireland Safety Training fits a worker in Ireland who needs a recognized certificate for a new job, site or role, quickly and cheaply: a warehouse operative needing manual handling, a kitchen worker needing HACCP, or a tradesperson needing working at heights and abrasive wheels. It also suits a small or mid-sized Irish employer that wants to buy a mix of courses, get the bundle discount, assign them through the dashboard and keep every certificate in one place for inspections, tenders and insurance renewals.
Buyers should treat the current prices as a promotion, since the site says the offer runs only for a short window, and should plan refreshers before the 3-year or 2-year certificate validity runs out. Organizations whose staff need a specific accreditation should check the badge on each course card, because the approving bodies differ from course to course.
