Atenea

Tap a star to rate

Atenea is cloud management software for academies and training centers, made by Ender Aplicaciones, a company based on Calle Atocha in Madrid. The homepage FAQ says it is built to adapt to "academias de idiomas, música, refuerzo escolar, formación profesional o centros con múltiples sedes" (language, music and tutoring academies, vocational training, or centers with several sites), and the site also names academies that prepare students for Spain's public-sector exams (oposiciones), municipal training centers and corporate training. The homepage says more than 200 training centers use it.

It is an administration system first: students, courses, timetables and groups, billing, staff, communication and reporting in one place, with an online classroom, a student and parent app, and AI tools added on top. It is sold in Spanish for the Spanish market, and its headline feature is its integration with Verifactu, Spain's electronic invoicing regime.

Running the academy

Atenea organizes courses, timetables and groups, and supports flexible billing models. The site gives examples by type of center. For music schools, municipal or private, it manages timetables by instrument, teacher and individual or group lessons, along with report cards, enrollments and monthly payments. For language academies it organizes levels, groups, enrollments and renewals. For exam-preparation academies it manages groups by exam call, student follow-up and recurring payments.

Student records, billing and staff time all sit in one database. Billing is built around Verifactu, which the site presents as making Atenea ready for current and future electronic invoicing rules for academies. A staff time-tracking module lets teachers and administrative staff clock in from the system itself; with GPS location, the place where a teacher clocked in and out is recorded, which the site says matters when a teacher gives classes outside the center. The site pitches that module as preparation for new legal requirements on recording working hours, with detailed reports for staff planning.

Implementation is guided. The homepage describes four steps: Ender analyzes how the center works, configures the system to fit its processes, migrates its data from Excel or other programs, and trains the team. The FAQ says the system is usually running within 24 to 48 hours depending on the center's complexity, and that it needs no installation, servers or technical maintenance, working from any computer, tablet or phone with internet access.

The online classroom and AI

Atenea Aula Online runs online classes from the teacher and student extranets or the Atenea app: a center sets its usual Atenea classes to online mode, and teachers and students join from a web browser. The page says it is also compatible with Zoom, and it now supports virtual group meetings for tutorials and other sessions, with breakout rooms. The homepage lists integrations with Verifactu, WhatsApp, WordPress, Jitsi, Zoom, Moodle, LearnDash and multiple CRMs, along with virtual classroom platforms and ERP systems. The same list also names "Meet, Teams" between Zoom and Moodle.

The site says AI is built into the teacher tools and business intelligence. A ChatGPT integration lets teachers generate class notes from video or audio transcripts, create homework and personalized exercises automatically, and summarize the teaching planner; for management, it offers simplified financial analysis, evaluation of classroom occupancy and use of space, and timetable optimization. The homepage also describes asking the system questions about enrollment, revenue or anything else in the Atenea database, and AI help with spotting growth opportunities and improving conversion of new students.

The app

Each academy gets its own branded app for Android and iOS, so, as the app page puts it, "tus alumnos instalarán la app de tu academia, no una genérica" (your students will install your academy's app, not a generic one). Students and parents check timetables, and teachers can be given permission to manage their own classes. Teachers take attendance on the spot and parents and students see it in real time. Teachers grade students and add daily comments for individuals or the whole group. Instant messaging carries circulars and news between academy, teachers, parents and students, and teachers can share documents. Optional features let students book classes against a class pack, pay receipts by credit card, and enroll in a course with the initial payment. Posts on the academy's website blog appear automatically in the app's news section.

The app page says the app has a fixed cost and does not limit the number of users, students, parents or teachers: "Sin coste por usuarios o alumnos" (no cost per user or student).

Add-on modules

Atenea can be extended at any time with modules. The modules page lists:

  • Extranets for remote access by different users, each with their own credentials and permissions.
  • Online receipt payment by credit card from the student extranet.
  • Online class booking for private or group classes, deducted from a class pack.
  • Attendance and homework reports, with personalized mailings to parents and guardians.
  • Bulk email and SMS; SMS credit packs are bought separately.
  • Library and material lending, with due dates and a list of items not yet returned.
  • Online enrollment and payment, so students enroll and pay without staff filling in their records.
  • Sales CRM and campaigns, tracking contacts' interests and running campaigns with tasks.
  • Accommodation management for academies sending students abroad or bringing them to Spain.
  • Point of sale for selling materials, with stock control and profit reports.
  • WhatsApp Business integration for automatic notifications, which requires the academy's own WhatsApp Business account.
  • Google Calendar sync, so teachers, students and staff see up-to-date timetables.
  • WP Connect, which shows courses and available timetables on the academy's WordPress site and takes enrollments and product sales there.

Ender also says it can develop custom adjustments for special needs.

Pricing and trial

The homepage says Atenea costs "Desde solo 35€ al mes y SIN NINGÚN LÏMITE de alumnos" (from just 35 euros a month, with no limit on students), and a banner offers up to 50% off annual subscriptions. A separate prices and versions page is linked from the footer. The FAQ confirms a free trial: "Puedes probar Atenea durante un mes sin compromiso" (you can try Atenea for a month with no commitment), and the homepage says the trial comes with initial training and data migration and that payment starts only if the system fits. Support is described as personal and continuous rather than automated tickets.

Who it suits

Atenea suits Spanish academies and training centers that run scheduled classes and bill monthly: language academies, music schools, tutoring centers, exam-preparation academies and multi-site centers. Testimonials on the homepage come from Tandem Madrid, which says Atenea helps it meet FUNDAE requirements, the Idiomarum language academy, St. Georges English Academy, the Los Silos music school in Burjassot and Musikaia Musika Eskola, which notes Ender adapted to its use of Basque as the main language. The price with no student limit, Verifactu invoicing and the branded app make it a practical fit for a small academy. A center outside Spain, or one that needs a full English-language product, will find it less suited.
