What Yo!Coach is

Yo!Coach is readymade marketplace software from FATbit Technologies for people who want to run their own tutoring, coaching, consultation or online course business rather than teach on someone else's. The FAQ calls it "a fully customizable and scalable white-label software to build an online tutoring, consultation, mentoring, and coaching marketplace," with live one-to-one or group sessions and pre-recorded video courses in one place. The buyer is an entrepreneur, a school or institute, or an established business adding online sessions: the FAQ names schools, institutes and private offline tutors, plus businesses built around video sessions such as fitness coaching, medical consultation and culinary coaching.

Two things set it apart from a hosted course platform. It is self-hosted, so the software is installed on the buyer's own server, and it is sold for a one-time license fee with no recurring monthly or yearly charges. Teachers and coaches then join the marketplace the buyer runs, and the buyer earns through commissions and the other revenue streams the software supports.

How a marketplace built on it works

A Yo!Coach platform has three interfaces. On a live (synchronous) platform, tutors register, set their availability, take lessons online and earn money; learners register, pick a teacher, pay and book; and the admin manages users, payments, commissions and the site's content. On a course (asynchronous) platform, teachers create and upload courses and earn from sales, learners buy them, and the admin handles users, courses, orders, reports, payments, discounts and commission. The FAQ says the software supports both modes together, and the admin can switch the courses module on or off.

The FAQ lists the business models it supports: one-to-one learning, group learning, one-to-one consultations, niche-specific tutoring and consultation, live courses, course packages, group class packages, pre-recorded courses, and enterprise eLearning. It also names revenue streams that need only minor customization: subscriptions from students and teachers, commission per class, paid promotion for tutors, ads on the site and paid certification. The niches it names range from language learning, music, art, code training and dance to business, legal and medical consultation.

Teachers, learners and courses

Teacher onboarding runs through an application form that the admin approves, with a field for resume details and relevant certificates. Approved teachers fill in a profile (biography, country, time zone, an optional YouTube introduction) and set daily or weekly availability. Teachers can offer trial sessions, short introductory meetings whose settings and duration the admin controls. The admin decides whether prices are set by the admin or by teachers, and can set minimum and maximum hourly rates; lesson slabs such as 1-5 or 6-10 lessons let learners buy in quantity at a discount. Session lengths of 30, 45, 60 and 120 minutes are listed, and lessons display in each user's own time zone.

For courses, a teacher adds a course with images and a preview video, chooses free or paid and sets a price, builds the curriculum from videos, and says whether the course offers a certificate. Each course goes to the admin for review before it is listed. Learners can watch the preview free, track progress, and download a certificate on completion where the course offers one; the FAQ notes certificates are available for purchased courses but not for lessons and classes. A quiz module lets tutors add different question types, set time and attempt limits and choose a marking scheme, and quizzes can be linked to one-on-one sessions, group sessions and courses. Learners rate and review teachers after a session.

Live classroom and community tools

Live sessions use audio and video chat with a virtual whiteboard (highlighter, pen, text, shapes), screen sharing and screen recording. The site lists Lessonspace, Jitsi, AtomChat, Pencil Spaces and Zoom Meeting as pre-integrated meeting tools, and MUX for video streaming. Lessonspace recording can be switched on so sessions are saved to the user's session list, and the FAQ says new clients get 40% and 50% discounts on AtomChat and Lessonspace respectively through Yo!Coach coupon codes. A discussion forum lets users post questions and answer each other, with admin moderation and tags, and an abusive-word filter covers group chat, reviews, forum comments and one-to-one messages. An offline-classes option uses geolocation to suggest tutors within a search radius the admin sets, for in-person lessons booked online.

Admin, payments and integrations

The admin side covers user management, commission settings (separate percentages for one-to-one, group classes and courses, with different rates per teacher possible), reports and analytics, sub-admins with module permissions, a CMS with a drag-and-drop homepage, blog management, email themes and SEO controls including meta tags, URLs, robots.txt and sitemaps. Marketing tools include a subscription module, gift cards and coupons, and multi-level subject categories. The FAQ says there is no limit on the number of teachers and students.

Payment gateways named are PayPal, Stripe, Authorize.Net, Paystack and PayGate, alongside wallet and bank transfer payments, and a local gateway can be added for an extra cost. Other listed integrations include MailChimp, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, the Fixer currency API, Microsoft Translator for content translation, and Vdocipher. The software is multilingual and multi-currency, with USD as the default currency, and the company states that it is GDPR compliant. Mobile access is through a PWA; the pricing page says learner mobile apps can only be bought with a web platform, and their source code is sold separately.

Packages and pricing

All packages are priced on request, and the pricing page says each comes with lifetime validity, zero recurring charges, zero transaction fees, free installation and self-hosting.

The pricing page offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on GoQuick Lite and GoQuick only, refunded after deducting a 4% payment gateway fee and USD 15 per hour for time already spent on the project. The FAQ puts additional customization at USD 25 per hour, and says ready-made installs take a maximum of 5 days.

Support and track record

Support runs by email, phone, live chat and a ticketing system, with dedicated project managers, documentation, video tutorials and a knowledge transfer session after installation. The site claims 1000+ projects in 40+ countries and 15+ niches. Alexander Kolchinsky, founder of Russian Math Tutors, says he chose it because he could install the source code "on my own VM on the cloud," that the platform was running "within just a couple of days," and that it "exceeded my expectation."

Who it suits

Yo!Coach suits an operator who wants to own a tutoring, coaching or course marketplace outright, with its own brand, server and commission model, and who has or will hire someone comfortable running a PHP application on a VPS or cloud server. It is not a tool for an individual coach selling to their own clients, and the self-hosted model means the buyer handles hosting and growth after the support period.
