Topmate

Tap a star to rate

Topmate is a creator storefront for experts who want to sell their time and knowledge from a single link. A mentor, coach or specialist builds a Topmate page and sells 1:1 sessions, priority direct messages, webinars, bundled packages, courses, live cohorts and digital products from it. The home page sums it up as "Your All-in-One Creator Storefront" and promises creators can "Make money from your content. Sell products, host sessions, and grow your business" from one place. It claims "1mn+ professionals" and "100k+ reviews", and the footer gives a San Francisco address.

Topmate serves two readers at once. For the creator, it is a booking and selling tool. For the learner, it is a marketplace where you can browse experts and their offers by topic and book a call, buy a guide or join a cohort.

What a creator can sell

The home page lays out the offer types in five steps:

  • 1:1 sessions. Mentorship sessions, consultations and discovery calls. Topmate's line is "do what you do best", with the platform taking care of everything else.
  • Priority DM. A paid direct-message service that the site says can be set up in seconds, for people who want an answer from an expert without booking a call.
  • Webinars. Live sessions for a group.
  • Bundles. Several services packaged together.
  • Courses and products. Self-paced courses and digital products such as guides, worksheets and ebooks.

Setting up is pitched as quick: "Create your Topmate page in a flash" and "Start earning $$ by the time you finish reading our website". Creators set their own prices, and the marketplace shows everything from free courses to paid packages. A health and wellness listing, for example, sells a basic health package for ₹999 that includes a personalized diet plan, a follow-up session and limited chat support over two weeks, while a mental wellness toolkit sells for ₹399 and a free course on technology and mental health sits beside them.

A newer addition flagged across the top of the home page is Instagram Auto DM, which the site describes as a way to "Automate your Instagram DM's".

Live cohorts on Topmate

Live cohorts are one of the formats Topmate puts front and center. The home page showcases "Live cohorts and 1:1 programs, run by creators who've actually done it", each with its length, format and the creator behind it, so a buyer sees at a glance whether a program is a single call, a few weeks of live sessions or a self-paced playbook. The examples show the range of shapes a program can take:

  • "Building AI Agents That Ship to Production", an 8-week live cohort with 15 live sessions from Joinloop Academy.
  • "AI Product Builder Roadmap 2026", a 12-week live cohort by Shailesh Sharma, listed with "3,800+ mentored".
  • "Building AI Agents in Enterprise", a 6-week live cohort by Ajay Shenoy, listed with "22K+ bookings".
  • "Antern Data Science Sprint", an approximately 8-week sprint by Ayush Singh.
  • "Germany & Europe Career Bootcamp", a 6-week cohort, and a Europe career and relocation cohort.
  • Shorter formats such as "Interview Shortlist in 30 Days" (1:1, 5 sessions), a personalized 1:1 Dubai career roadmap, 1:1 DevOps mentorship and a self-paced Airbnb rental arbitrage playbook.

Those figures belong to the individual creators, not to Topmate, but they show that the platform carries cohorts of serious size alongside one-off calls. According to the company blog, Topmate-hosted cohorts often come with EMI payment plans for buyers: 6 months at 0% interest, 9 months at 3.5% and 12 months at 5.05%, applied for through an interest form.

Communication, bookings and payouts

The company blog lists Topmate's own strengths as instant payouts, automated WhatsApp communication, 1:1 calendar bookings and secure digital product hosting. Customer quotes on the home page point the same way. Aishwarya Srinivasan writes "Love the integrations with Calendar, Zoom and WhatsApp. Makes my life easier!", and a data lead named Jessica says she is a "Big fan of Topmate's WhatsApp integration." Xinran Waibel, founder of Data Engineer Things, calls it "my go-to platform for scheduling 1:1 sessions and hosting webinars!" Another creator pair with a large Instagram following say "All my monetisation now happens in one place". Speaker Lorraine Lee adds that "The team is extremely helpful and cares a lot about feedback. They keep rolling out new features too!"

On money, the home page FAQ covers whether creators can run paid sessions, how much they can charge, how payments work, whether Topmate is really free, and what the transaction charges are. Those answers sit behind the FAQ on the home page and are not printed in the page text, and the site links to a separate Pricing page.

The marketplace

For buyers, Topmate runs a public marketplace with search, an AI search option and expert directories. Topics include product management, software engineering, data science, AI and ML, design, content marketing, startups, finance and investments, study abroad, psychology and mental health, health and wellness, astrology and tarot, cybersecurity, Python, SAP and tax. Offers are filtered by type: digital products, courses, 1:1 calls, priority DMs, packages and webinars. In the health and wellness category, for instance, the marketplace showed 474 1:1 calls and 136 digital products against 8 courses, a fair picture of how the platform leans toward calls and downloadable products over long courses.

The home page groups featured experts by niche as well: career, data and AI, study abroad, software, HR, finance, startup mentoring, astrology, marketing, and product and design. Profiles range from a SQL Server DBA and a PMP ebook author to an ICF-credentialed life coach and Europe relocation mentors.

Who it suits

Topmate suits an individual expert with an audience who wants to start charging for advice quickly: a career coach, a data or AI practitioner, a relocation mentor, a finance or tax professional. The mix of 1:1 calls, priority DMs and digital products lets a creator start small and add webinars or a live cohort as demand grows, without moving to another tool. Creators whose followers live on WhatsApp and Instagram will find the messaging features directly relevant.

For learners, the marketplace is a practical way to get time with a practitioner, from a single call to a multi-week cohort, and the EMI plans on hosted cohorts spread the cost. The trade-off for creators comparing tools is that fee details are not set out in the page text, so it is worth reading the Pricing page before committing a large program to the platform.
