What CoachNow is
CoachNow is an all-in-one coaching app for coaches whose work involves movement, technique and skill: its FAQ names golf, baseball and softball, hockey, tennis, fitness and PT/rehab among the 60+ sports and activities where it is used. It combines video and image analysis, private communication with each athlete, a cloud library and automation, on iOS, Android and the web. The company calls the approach "ConnectedCoaching": the conversation with an athlete continues between sessions instead of ending when the lesson does.
According to the About page, CoachNow, formerly known as Edufii, was founded in 2014 by High Performance Coach Spencer Dennis, who was spending 40+ hours a week sending emails, texts and YouTube links to his athletes, and it is now part of the Golf Genius product suite. The homepage says that over 1 million coaches and athletes across 60+ sports in 140+ countries use it, that it serves thousands of academies, camps and organizations, and that with 20,000+ five-star reviews and a 4.9 average rating it is "the highest rated coaching app in the world". The case studies page features coaches in golf, hockey, equestrian, softball and surfing.
Video and image analysis
Video analysis is the core of the product. Annotation tools let a coach draw angles, shapes, timers and text directly on photos or videos while recording a voice-over. CoachCam adds a live recording from the device camera on top of the clip, so the athlete sees the coach explaining as well as the drawing. Versus Mode puts two videos or images side by side, for the same athlete past and present or against a more advanced player. AI-enabled skeleton tracking detects the athlete's movement and overlays their body structure with real-time angle readings. Slow motion runs up to 240 FPS, and a timer tool superimposes as many timers as you like on a clip.
Live MultiCam records a single movement from several cameras at once, and the features page says you can view and capture content remotely with an Apple Watch. A coach can shoot inside the app, reuse a clip from the personal cloud library or upload from the camera roll, and the page says processing is instant, with no waiting for slow motion or compressing files for voice-over. Videos can carry tags for search and attached spreadsheets, documents, notes and comments.
Communication and automation
Spaces are private one-on-one channels between a coach and an athlete, where posts, video analysis and feedback live together. Groups serve teams, split into channels by topic, for example scheduling, game-day plans and team goals. The homepage FAQ describes the usual pattern for remote and hybrid coaching: capture video during a live session, then keep the conversation going between appointments with new uploads, annotated clips and voice-over feedback, so the athlete is not waiting for the next lesson to hear what to change. The main feed pulls activity from every Space and Group into one view, with search by keyword, tag, media type and month and year, and push notifications set to your preferences.
Automation is where the app saves the most time. A coach can post any file type to several Spaces at once, schedule posts in advance, pre-load onboarding content, and build automated post sequences that release a program at a set pace, which the features page says suits programming, creating online courses or simply getting ahead before a vacation. Lists send one post to thousands of athletes who reply privately in their own Space, and Smart Lists sort athletes automatically by their activity in the app. View tracking and read receipts show who has watched each post and when, and messaging automations can fire when an athlete falls behind.
Scheduling, billing and integrations
The business tools sit at the top of the plan ladder. Scheduling and the facility calendar handle client and facility bookings inside CoachNow, and students get confirmation and cancellation notices by email and text. Coaches can create one-time packages or recurring subscriptions that athletes buy directly from the Coach Profile, view payment data, edit program access and send invoices, with invoicing and billing running through Stripe Connect. Third-party integrations connect CoachNow with existing club systems and calendars, and beyond calendars with launch monitors, on-course stats applications, video analytics and USGA Handicapping, a list that shows how central golf is to the product.
Plans and pricing
The pricing page lists three memberships, each payable annually or monthly:
- Analyze, $59 a year or $9.99 a month: 5 Spaces and Groups, the video and image analysis suite and 250 media items in the library. The page aims it at athletes, parents and new coaches.
- CoachNow PRO, $499 a year or $49.99 a month: unlimited Spaces and Groups, MultiCam, post scheduling, view counts and read receipts, advanced group controls, copying and moving posts, Lists and Smart Lists, templates and the automated template builder, a 300GB cloud library and exclusive coaching courses.
- CoachNow Academy, $899 a year or $89.99 a month: everything in PRO plus integrated session and clinics scheduling, the facility calendar, invoicing and billing through Stripe Connect, and third-party integrations, with flexible multi-coach pricing.
The monthly cards note the saving from paying annually: $59 on Analyze, $100 on PRO and $180 on Academy. Groups of three or more coaches, along with academies, gyms, coaching organizations and schools, can apply for group pricing, and a free custom demo with a head coach can be booked. Every plan has a free 7-day trial, started by downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play and creating a free account.
Who it suits
CoachNow suits a sports or movement coach who teaches technique and wants to give detailed visual feedback, in person and remotely, without juggling texts, email and video links. A golf coach is the most obvious fit, given the launch monitor, on-course stats and USGA Handicapping integrations, but the case studies and FAQ show it in use from hockey and softball to equestrian, surfing and rehab. Analyze is an inexpensive start for an athlete, a parent or a new coach; PRO is the plan for a coach running remote programs and a large athlete roster; Academy is meant for facilities and multi-coach organizations that want scheduling and billing in the same app. The trade-off is that payments, scheduling and integrations all sit on the most expensive plan, so a solo coach who wants to sell packages through the app needs Academy rather than PRO. Coaches whose work is conversation rather than movement, such as business or life coaching, will use only a small part of what it offers.
