Quipper is a learning management system and digital content service for schools in the Philippines, sold to whole schools rather than to individual teachers. Quipper Philippines, Inc. runs it from an office in Legazpi Village, Makati, and the site says it covers every level from Kinder through grade school, junior and senior high school to college. The company describes itself as "one of the Philippines' most trusted e-learning partners" and says it is part of the Manabie Group, an EdTech company founded in Singapore.

Background

The About page gives the history. Quipper was founded in 2010 in London by the Japanese entrepreneur Masayuki Watanabe as a global e-learning platform, with three co-founders including Takuya Homma, co-founder of Manabie. The timeline places both its entry into the Philippines and the launch of Study Sapuri in Japan in 2014; the company scaled up during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and in 2026 was acquired by Manabie. The page says the group works across the Philippines, Vietnam and Japan. The home page claims 344,000+ engaged students, 7,000+ teachers and 600+ partner schools, and 12 years serving the Philippines. It says those schools span Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao and include both sectarian and non-sectarian schools.

What the school gets

The home page sets out three parts: Quipper LMS, Quipper Content and Quipper Support. The LMS has a portal for teachers and school admins, a students' portal, a parents' portal and a content management app.

For teachers, the LMS page lists managing classes and students in one place, sending assignments and timed exams in a few clicks, individual and class reports, ready-to-use lessons, cheating detection on exams, auto-checked quizzes, assignments and exams, rubric-based essay grading and essay feedback, building assessments with AI, running live classes, publishing their own lessons, real-time progress insights and messaging with students. The FAQ adds ready-to-use teaching guides and presentation slides.

For students, it lists interactive lessons, live classes, discussion forums, scores shown the moment work is submitted, downloadable study guides, messaging with teachers, essay feedback, assignment notifications and self-paced study on any iOS or Android phone.

For administrators, it lists managing class lists and teacher accounts, school-wide announcements, platform usage by class, school-wide and per-class performance analytics, role-based access control and reports exported for board meetings.

For parents, the parents' portal shows when a child last logged in, a 30-day performance overview, whether assignments are being submitted, average scores, what is left to complete and upcoming deadlines. Several children can sit in one parent account.

Content

Quipper Content is the material that comes with the LMS. The home page says thousands of DepEd- and CHED-aligned lessons, videos and assessments are ready to assign on day one, and the FAQ says all content is mapped to the latest DepEd K to 12 standards and CHED requirements for tertiary education and updated regularly. The menu also lists an Assessment Package, and the home page pairs it with NAT review. The Why Quipper page pitches the service as a replacement for printed textbooks, with lessons, videos, interactive activities and instant feedback on the devices students already own.

Mobile app and offline learning

The Quipper Mobile App is built for patchy connections. Students download lessons, learn offline and sync progress automatically when they reconnect, and the app is designed to be light enough for low-end smartphones. The FAQ ties this to a school's Learning Continuity Plan: when typhoons, health concerns or distance interrupt classes, teachers keep assigning lessons and assessments, students work from home, and school leaders follow participation and performance in real-time analytics. The site says Quipper supports face-to-face, online, blended, flipped and hybrid teaching on one platform.

The LMS page publishes system requirements: iOS 15 or Android 8 and up with 4 GB of RAM on phones and tablets, Windows 10, the latest ChromeOS or macOS 13 and up with 8 GB of RAM on laptops and desktops, at least 5 Mbps of bandwidth, and Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

AI features

The site marks its AI Tutor as "coming soon", powered by Manabie AI and built on Quipper's DepEd-aligned content inside the LMS. The LMS page describes photo-to-solution (a student snaps a problem and gets a worked solution), step-by-step explanations, follow-up questions, hints that adapt to the student's level, round-the-clock availability and unlimited practice questions generated until the student reaches mastery. For teachers, the AI pieces already listed are assessment building and automated grading.

Standards and recognition

The About page says Quipper Philippines has achieved LTI v1.3 / Advantage certification from 1EdTech, which matters to a school that wants to connect Quipper with other learning tools. It also reports a Plaque of Appreciation from DepEd at the department's 2022 Partners' Appreciation Event. The page lists DepEd, CHED, DOST, CEAP, PEAC, TESDA, PAPSCU, MAPSA, CEDNET and FAPSA as partners and supporting associations.

Two technology partners appear on the About page as separate companies, not Quipper products: WhiteStrings, a school management system that links registrar, cashier, library, clinic and guidance and produces DepEd, CHED and TESDA-ready reports, and Pythaverse, a K to 12 robotics and AI education provider with digital twin robotics, competitions, virtual experiments and coding courses.

Implementation and support

The Support page describes three phases. Diagnosis and onboarding covers a pre-implementation diagnosis, a personalized support plan, stakeholder training, curriculum mapping with the school's team, account provisioning and a device check. Training and support brings a dedicated support officer, online technical support, regular school visits, monthly accomplishment reports and quarterly performance reviews. Post-implementation brings evaluation reports, a year-end summary, yearly awards events, renewal planning and an invitation to Q-munity, a community for Filipino educators with a Facebook group, webinars the page calls CPD-accredited, pedagogical training, an e-journal and an annual awards night.

Pricing and trial

The site publishes no prices. It offers a demo and a 30-day free trial, with "No initial investment required" and "No long-term commitment". The FAQ says an individual teacher cannot sign up; a teacher who is interested is put in touch with the school's administrators. After a school submits the contact form, the FAQ says an EdTech expert calls back within one business day to arrange a demo.

What schools say

The home page carries named testimonials from each island group. Marynel C. Comidoy, principal of University of Mindanao Peñaplata College, singles out "ready-made DepEd-aligned materials combined with tools like personalized quizzes, presentations, and even a cheating detector". Alvin P. Gallo of University of San Jose-Recoletos writes that "For the past six years, Quipper has been more than just a platform".

Who it suits

Quipper suits a Philippine private or public school, from Kinder to college, that wants ready-made DepEd or CHED content, an LMS that keeps working offline on cheap phones, a parents' portal and a vendor that sends staff to train teachers and visit the campus. It is less useful to a school outside the Philippine curriculum, and it is not open to an individual tutor or teacher, or to anyone selling courses to the public.
