What Linus is

Linus is a Seoul education technology company, registered as Linus Inc. ((주)라이너스), that builds Kiwi, a learning experience platform (LXP) for universities and other institutions. Its English home page is titled "AI EduPlatform · LMS · LXP for Universities," and it describes Kiwi as an "Integrated AI Edu-Platform Powering an Interactive Learning Ecosystem." The Korean page puts the same idea as an integrated AI education platform for a participation-centered learning ecosystem (참여 중심 학습생태계를 위한 통합형 AI 에듀플랫폼), and spells out the product name as an acronym: "Keep Innovating, Widen Impact."

The reader here is an institution, not an individual learner. Linus sells to universities, language institutes and organizations that want a single place for lectures, group work and online study, and it also builds content management systems for universities on top of video and LMS software they already run.

The Kiwi platform and its editions

The site lists Kiwi in several editions: Kiwi Church, Kiwi University, Kiwi Standard, Kiwi Professional and Kiwi Enterprise. The edition names show the range of buyers the company has in mind, from a congregation to a university to a company training its staff, but the site gives a full description only of what the university editions do.

That description comes from its flagship deployment. Hanyang University's Open Major program, which the site calls "A flagship case of Kiwi Professional," runs on Kiwi as an AI learning experience platform covering, in the site's words, everything from "lectures to group activities, meetings, learning journals, and an AI study mate," with "everything university learning needs, in one platform." Read as a feature list, that gives a university:

  • lecture delivery for the courses in a program;
  • group activities, so project work happens inside the platform rather than in separate tools;
  • meetings, for scheduled sessions between students and instructors or within teams;
  • learning journals, where students record and reflect on their own progress;
  • an AI study mate (AI 학습메이트 on the Korean page), an AI assistant that supports students as they study.

The second flagship case shows the language-school side. Inje University's Global Language Institute (인제대학교 글로벌어학교육원) uses what the site calls "A flagship case of Kiwi Standard for International Students," covering the program "From course registration to online learning and TOPIK mock tests" and supporting Korean learning "in multiple languages." For an institute teaching Korean to international students, that means one system that takes a student from enrollment through online lessons to practice for the TOPIK proficiency test, with the interface available in more than one language.

Projects for universities

Beyond the two flagship cases, the site's Featured Projects list shows the kind of work Linus takes on. Each entry names the client, the type of build and the product behind it:

  • Daeduk University, a learning experience platform build on Kiwi LXP Standard;
  • Kyung Hee Cyber University, a content management system build on Panopto;
  • KAIST, a content management system build on Panopto;
  • Kumoh National Institute of Technology, a learning experience platform build on Kiwi LXP Standard;
  • Hanyang University's Open Major program (listed as Hanyang Intercollege in English), a learning experience platform build on Kiwi LXP Pro;
  • SK Telecom DialLink, a number-based page connection service.

The list makes Linus as much a project partner as a software vendor. Two of the university projects are content systems built around Panopto, the lecture video platform, rather than deployments of Kiwi itself, and the SK Telecom entry is a telecom service outside education entirely. A university reading the list can expect Linus to build around the systems it already owns as well as to install its own platform.

Canvas, Panopto and Notion

The site's navigation carries a System section naming Canvas, Panopto and Notion alongside the Kiwi editions, so these are the third-party systems Linus presents as part of its offer. Panopto appears in two of the featured projects. Canvas features in the company's news: its latest post, "오픈소스 Canvas, 업데이트가 멈췄다?" (Has open-source Canvas stopped updating?), is addressed to institutions running the open-source edition of Canvas LMS themselves, and reports that Instructure's official Canvas LMS source repository shows no new code updates since April 30, 2026 ("2026년 4월 30일 이후 새로운 코드 업데이트가 확인되지 않고 있습니다").

How Linus works with clients

The home page frames the company's role as helping clients "throughout the solution development process," and the Korean version adds customized coaching and education solution development (맞춤형 코칭과 교육솔루션 개발). It names four commitments. Close Communication: "Our team is always in close communication to understand customer needs and provide efficient solutions." Experience-Based Development: systems optimized with expertise gained from diverse education projects. User-friendly Interface Design: user-centered planning so the service is easy to use. Continuous Customer Care: the Korean text describes solution training support and tracking system improvements so that each solution becomes fully customized (솔루션 교육 지원과 시스템 개선사항을 파악합니다).

In practice that describes a vendor that configures and extends its platform per institution and trains the client's staff on it, rather than a self-service product a school signs up for online.

The company

The About page describes Linus as a platform company leading the digital transformation of education through smart learning, and explains its slogan of education going "UP," meaning upgrade, development and growth. Its organization chart, dated September 2026, shows a CEO and board with a Corporate Strategy Office and a Finance & People Team; a Sales & Customer Group with a Solution Sales Office and a Customer Success Team; an Engineering Group with an LXP Engineering Team; and an AIED Institute (우리안의배움연구소) holding an R&D Strategy Office, an AIED Research Team and an AIED Development Team. The company's stated mission is three lines: "Rejoice in our mission, Communicate without ceasing, Be grateful in all things."

The site lists the company as Linus Inc., CEO Seokgyu Na, at Gangnam Vision Tower on Teheran-ro 2-gil in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, with a main phone line and a contact page. The site runs in Korean and English. It publishes no prices; Kiwi is arranged with the company per institution.

Who it suits

Linus suits a Korean university or college that wants one platform for lectures, team projects, meetings, reflective journals and AI study support, and wants a vendor that will build and adapt it with them, as it did for Hanyang University's Open Major program. It suits a Korean language institute teaching international students, with enrollment, online lessons and TOPIK mock tests in one system and a multilingual interface. Universities running Panopto or a self-hosted Canvas will find a partner that already works with both. Churches and companies have editions of their own, Kiwi Church and Kiwi Enterprise. A school outside Korea, or one that wants a sign-up-and-go product with public plans, will find Linus's focus on Korean institutions and project-based delivery a less natural fit.
