What Camu Is
Camu, also called Camu Digital Campus, is a cloud-based campus management platform that combines a student information system (SIS) and a learning management system (LMS) in one product. The home page says Camu "simplifies Higher Education and K-12 by unifying academic and administrative processes", and describes it as a global EdTech cloud solution aimed especially at multi-campus university environments. The company behind it appears on the site as Octoze: the enquiries address is on the octoze.com domain, and a news item on the home page reports that Octoze (Camu) was recognized as a Niche Player in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Higher Education SaaS Student Information Systems.
The reader this entry serves is a university or college administration choosing a system to run courses, exams and student records together, and to a lesser degree a school group. The company's LMS guide says Camu is trusted by 550+ institutions across 25+ countries and suggests it to institutions that manage 500 to 50,000 students. Much of the product is built around Indian higher education rules: the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, outcome-based education, and NAAC and NBA accreditation, with course frameworks aligned to AICTE and UGC norms. The home page news names customers outside India too: Ashesi University in Ghana, SEGi University in Malaysia and Miriam College in the Philippines, alongside Woxsen University and two Symbiosis institutions in India.
The Learning Management System
The home page sums up the LMS as a way to "Deliver structured, data-driven digital learning with measurable academic impact." The company's LMS guide lists what it covers:
- Course and curriculum management, to create, map and track courses with full credit framework support aligned to AICTE and UGC norms.
- Assessments and automated grading, with online quizzes, proctored exams, rubric-based grading and instant result processing that the guide says works for 10,000+ students.
- Faculty and student dashboards, with role-specific views of real-time progress, engagement analytics and attendance tracking.
- Hybrid teaching, bringing live classes, recorded sessions, in-class activities and assignments into one workflow, so that, as the guide puts it, "faculty manage one system, not five."
- Mobile access through MyCamu, a dedicated iOS and Android app that gives students and faculty access to courses, assignments, attendance and results. The guide says the mobile app works offline for rural connectivity.
For distance programs there is a separate Online Learning System (for ODL), which the home page describes as compliant, scalable online distance learning with structured delivery and assessments.
Exams and Assessment
Assessment is the reason Camu also sits among quiz and assessment tools. Beyond the quizzes, proctored exams and rubric grading inside the LMS, the Exam Management System is described on the home page as "A complete digital exam engine for scheduling, online/offline exams, digital evaluation, and result publishing." The solutions menu lists it as Exam Management System (CoE). Results feed straight into the student record, since the SIS and LMS share a database.
Outcome-Based Education and Accreditation
Camu's most specific feature set is for outcome-based education (OBE). The guide describes native Course Outcome to Program Outcome (CO-PO) mapping with attainment calculations for NAAC and NBA cycle reporting, and the home page promises "automated outcome mapping, attainment analytics, and continuous quality improvement."
For accreditation, the guide says Camu auto-generates structured reports for NAAC Criterion 2 (Teaching-Learning and Evaluation) and Criterion 3 (Research), with data pulled from live academic activity. The company reports that institutions using Camu cut NAAC documentation preparation time by 40 to 60% after implementation, and its guide also cites a 60% reduction in documentation effort reported by Camu users. These figures come from the company's own reporting of its users, not from an outside study. A separate Accreditations module automates accreditation workflows with reporting and compliance tracking.
For NEP 2020, the FAQ says Camu provides flexible credit management, multidisciplinary course structuring and OBE tools, so institutions can define learning outcomes, map them to program goals, track attainment and generate NAAC documentation within the platform. A Flexible Course Registration Software module (listed in the menu as CBCS software) gives students rules-driven, conflict-free course selection backed by real-time validation. The home page news item on Ashesi University in Ghana says Camu reformed course registrations and enabled student choice there.
The Student Information System and Campus Modules
Because the SIS and LMS are one product, the guide says student enrollment, academic history, fee records and learning data "live in a single database", which removes the SIS to LMS sync that institutions with separate tools need. Around that core, the home page lists modules for most of a campus:
- Admission Management System, digitizing admissions from enquiry to enrollment.
- Fees Management System, with automated fee processing and real-time reconciliation.
- Attendance Management System, capturing attendance with biometric, QR and mobile-based verification in real time.
- Cafeteria Management System, with billing, inventory control and QR-based meal attendance.
- Hostel Management System, covering allotments, billing, room changes and student safety.
- Camu HR and Library Management, for HR and library operations.
- Placement Management System, University ERP and College ERP, listed in the solutions menu.
The home page says Camu has managed individual campuses with over 20,000 students in multi-campus universities, handling enrollment, course delivery, assessment and analytics through one platform. The guide adds that multi-campus institutions manage all departments from a single admin console.
Security and Uptime
The guide lists a 99.9% uptime SLA, role-based access control, PDPB-compliant data handling and cloud-native infrastructure. The site's company menu also links pages on data security and privacy, technology and interfacing capabilities.
Pricing, Evaluation and Implementation
The FAQ says Camu LMS pricing is institution-specific and depends on student count, modules selected and implementation requirements, with a custom quote from the company. Camu does not offer a free tier; instead it provides a structured evaluation process that includes a full-feature demo environment.
On rollout, the FAQ says implementation takes 8 to 16 weeks for most mid-size universities of 5,000 to 15,000 students, depending on data migration, SIS integration and faculty onboarding, and that large multi-campus institutions may need 20 to 24 weeks for full rollout. The site lists phone lines for international enquiries, India and support.
Who It Suits
Camu suits universities, autonomous colleges and technical institutions that want their LMS, exams and student records in one system, and especially those in India working toward NAAC or NBA accreditation and NEP 2020 credit frameworks. The guide names state and central universities with 5,000 to 50,000 students, autonomous colleges preparing for NAAC accreditation, deemed-to-be universities, engineering institutions pursuing NBA accreditation and multi-campus institutions. Its international customers show it is also used outside India for course registration and the student life cycle.
It is not a fit for an individual course creator, for a company training staff, or for a buyer who wants a public price list and a self-serve signup: access runs through a demo and a quote.
