aXcelerate is training management software built around vocational education and training. The home page describes "one system for training, compliance and capability," bringing student management, learning, compliance and workforce capability together in one connected platform, and it says the system works with Australian compliance requirements as well as custom competency frameworks. The product is sold as five parts: a Student Management System, a Learning Management System, Skills for competency management, Work-Based Learning, and the aXcelerate App, with AI features running across them.

The company addresses four audiences: private registered training organizations (RTOs) and other training providers, universities, government agencies and enterprises. The home page says aXcelerate is trusted by 1,300+ Australian training organizations and backs that with figures of 3.5 million annual enrollments, 80,000 daily logins and 99.9% uptime. The team says it brings over 30 years of training experience, and the footer gives an address in Toowong, QLD. A region switcher offers Australia and NZ, the Americas and the rest of the world.

Student management and enrollment

The Student Management System covers "complete compliance, student, and finance management." For an RTO the compliance part centers on AVETMISS, the national reporting standard for vocational training data. The company's LMS essentials guide explains that online enrollment should capture the data an RTO needs for AVETMISS compliance and that an LMS should integrate with the SMS so student records stay consistent without duplication. On enrollment, the guide lists showing qualifications and courses on the provider's website, letting students browse, enroll or enquire, configurable enrollment forms with mandatory fields, document uploads such as identification, certificates and visa or passport details, and taking payment, including direct debit payment plans.

Learning and assessment

The LMS is described in the product menu as a tool to "create engaging lesson plans and run virtual classrooms." The essentials guide sets out how roles use it. Trainers and assessors create and deliver learning, lessons and online assessments and grade assignments, quizzes and observations. Admins manage accounts and enrollments. Compliance managers use assessment mapping and reporting to check programs against industry standards and regulatory requirements. Course designers build content with the authoring tools, and learners work through a Learner Portal where they complete assessments, track progress, message trainers and receive their certificates.

Assessment is where aXcelerate's VET focus shows. The guide lists observation checklists, online quizzes, short answer, marking criteria and RPL evidence as assessment modes, with assessors writing outcomes, giving feedback, applying an electronic signature and uploading photo and video evidence against specific criteria. Mapping tools show question content against unit criteria, filter for criteria not yet mapped, and export mapping data at unit and qualification level, which the guide calls one of the most effective ways to save time on compliance. Learning Plans order course content into Learning Modules aligned with units, set dependencies and prerequisites, keep learning in sync with unit and course dates, and allow a mix of self-driven and scheduled progression. Branded certificates can be created for students to download.

For outside content, the guide describes uploading SCORM and xAPI-compliant eLearning, linking it to qualification units and reporting on initiation, time spent and outcomes, and it names eWAY, Ezypay and SqID as examples of payment gateways an LMS should link to.

Skills: competency management for enterprises

Skills, formerly called Role-Based Learning, is the competency management module. The support article describes it as built for enterprise organizations and ideal for high-risk, high-compliance industries like construction, utilities, mining and emergency services. Administrators create competencies, nominate the activities needed to attain each one, combine competencies into roles and assign roles to workers. Activities can be workshops, aXcelerate lessons and assessment tasks, SCORM e-learning, portfolio uploads, class enrollments into qualifications, or other competencies. Nationally recognized competencies from training.gov.au are available in Skills without being recreated.

Expiry periods on competencies and authorizations handle recertification, and a role stays valid only while every required competency is current. Authorizations can be granted alongside competencies so a worker is not only competent but authorized to do the work. Managers see only the workers in their own organization and its child organizations, through a manager view with workforce, organization, matrix and help request sections, and approval requests for workshops, portfolio items and prior learning are handled in one queue. Reports include Authorisation Records, Skills Achievements and a Training Needs Analysis, all in the Report Builder.

Skills is not part of the base subscription. The support article calls it a billable addition and says it is not included with Standard or Turbo subscriptions. Management happens in the admin or manager portal, while workers can complete activities such as lessons and quiz assessments in the learner app. The roadmap for Skills lists additional reporting, competency versioning and audit logging as planned items.

Work-based learning, the app and AI

Work-Based Learning is pitched as a way to "facilitate better on-the-job training outcomes and save time." The essentials guide describes capturing placement hours, logging work-based activities and uploading evidence for a supervisor to approve, with trainers and employers validating workplace activities and digital signatures recording attendance. The aXcelerate App promises training delivery "anywhere anytime."

On AI, the home page says aXcelerate's tools help with "automating time-consuming admin tasks to assisting with content creation and assessment marking," aimed at educators and administrators rather than learners. A Client Portal is the latest product announcement.

Security, integrations and support

The home page lists ISO 9001, ISO 27001:2022, TPES certification and assessment by ST4S under its quality and information security commitments, and the footer links a Security and Trust page and a Trust Centre. User roles can carry an MFA or additional security option. The company says its API and integrations connect training management with the rest of a business, and the Skills setup relies on a webhooks setting.

Learning resources include a Help Centre, webinars, aXcelerate Academy, client forums, an ideas forum and a public product roadmap and release notes. The company also runs an annual conference, aXcelerate Day, held in 2026 on 15 September at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Clients and pricing

Client stories feature NSW SES, Scouts Australia and CTC. Matthew Bremner of Accredited First Aid Courses is quoted on the home page: "aXcelerate has transformed our business into an industry leader." The menu links Pricing and Implementation pages, and every page offers Book a demo.

Who it suits

aXcelerate suits Australian RTOs and the universities, government agencies and enterprises that deliver accredited training, where AVETMISS reporting, assessment mapping and unit-based learning plans matter every day. Enterprises in construction, utilities, mining and emergency services get a competency and authorization system on the same data through Skills, at extra cost. Providers juggling separate enrollment, LMS and compliance tools can run all of it in one place.

The caveat is fit. Much of the product is shaped by Australian VET rules, so organizations outside that system will use less of its compliance depth, and anyone wanting the Skills module should budget for it separately from a Standard or Turbo subscription.
