Seismic

Tap a star to rate

Seismic is a revenue enablement platform for sales, marketing and other customer-facing teams, and its Learning and Coaching capability is the part that trains and coaches sellers. The product page frames it as AI-driven sales training and coaching software built to "deliver personalized learning and AI-guided coaching at scale" so reps have the knowledge, skills and resources to handle every customer interaction. Training sits next to content management, program strategy and execution, meeting intelligence and digital sales rooms in the wider Seismic Enablement Cloud, so a team that adopts it is buying into a larger system rather than a stand-alone course tool.

The home page says Seismic is trusted by approximately 2,000 organizations worldwide and lists financial services, manufacturing, technology and healthcare and life sciences as the industries it builds solutions for. It also announces that Seismic and Highspot have come together to help sellers know how to win. The audience is the enterprise: the navigation speaks to marketers, sales teams, revenue leaders, enablement teams and IT leaders, and the home page describes Seismic as the leading enablement platform for global enterprises.

Building lessons and courses

Much of the course-building detail on the site is published under the name Lessonly by Seismic. A 2022 explainer on online training software describes an "intuitive lesson builder" meant to make online training courses quick to develop. Lessons are assembled from drag-and-drop content elements and, in the explainer's words, are "automatically optimized for mobile." Interactive elements include peer learning tools, quizzes and flip cards. Authors can upload or embed video without technical help and combine it with supporting text, so one lesson can mix a recorded walkthrough, written steps and a knowledge check.

The explainer argues for training built for speed rather than broadcast-quality production: smartphone videos, blog content, screenshots and quick captions on topics that change often, alongside more static material such as HR conduct, compliance and leadership training. Managers can build courses from their mobile devices as well as take them there. For a sales team, that means new messaging or a product change can turn into a lesson without waiting on a production cycle.

Planning, assigning and tracking

Seismic replaces the training spreadsheet with automation. According to the explainer, managers can track employee training "automatically through triggers, lesson cadences, and scheduled assignments," set learning and assignment deadlines with calendar alerts and events, and send automatic reminders to finish lessons left unfinished. Reporting shows which team members have completed a module, which left it unfinished and who still needs to get started.

Completion is only the first measure. The site describes comprehension as the more nuanced one, and lessons can carry quizzes to test it. The platform also keeps long-term training records for every employee, a feature the explainer presents as useful for maintaining compliance, with records kept accessible for reference at any time. That record keeping is where Seismic reaches into general business LMS territory: the same tools that onboard sellers can hold the policy and compliance training an L&D team has to document, and the explainer pitches the software to companies and small businesses alike.

AI coaching, role-plays and feedback

The current product page leads with AI. Personalized coaching plans use AI-driven coaching programs to highlight the knowledge gaps of underperforming reps so managers know what to prioritize next. Reps practice in AI-powered role-plays that simulate real-life scenarios, and video recordings let them rehearse before a customer call. AI-powered feedback gives reps "targeted, in-the-moment guidance," and the page says it helps managers reinforce learning with coaching that evolves as the team does.

Skills reinforcement rounds this out with AI-driven assessments that identify skill gaps so managers can close performance gaps and accelerate rep readiness. The FAQ adds microlearning, sales performance metrics and targeted coaching playbooks to the ways Seismic supports coaching of customer-facing teams. It names onboarding new sellers as a core use, through interactive online sales training courses and AI-powered role-plays aimed at faster time to value. The site's platform menu also lists Aura AI.

Integrations and data

The Learning page invites teams to integrate their LMS, CRM, content authoring solutions, collaboration software "and hundreds of other applications" with Seismic Learning, and links to the Seismic Exchange for the catalog. The explainer names two integrations directly. Salesforce lets a team combine CRM data with training data to report on team and individual learning and look for links between training and productivity. Okta handles authenticating new employees in the system. The explainer also mentions an API for keeping the employee training database up to date and an interface for managing and exporting data in a variety of ways.

The LMS connection means Learning can sit alongside a corporate LMS a company already runs rather than replace it.

Results the company reports

Seismic backs its pitch with customer figures. The Learning page headlines a 34% decrease in ramp time and lists results by name: OneSource Virtual reports 47% quicker time to reps' first new opportunity, Scorpion a 58% decrease in time to first sale, Alera Group a 25% increase in new hire satisfaction, Pleo 500+ lessons created, and Freshworks 57,000+ hours saved annually across Field Sellers and ICG Sellers. The home page adds platform-wide results from customers including Aerogen, Expedia and AllianceBernstein. These are the company's own case-study numbers, each tied to one customer, and they often describe the whole enablement platform rather than the learning module alone.

The site also offers The Forrester Wave for Revenue Enablement Platforms, Q3 2024, as a downloadable analyst report, along with a webinar on changing sales and marketing behavior at scale and an ebook called Major League Sales Coaching.

Pricing, demos and support

The site publishes no prices; buyers book a conversation through Let's Chat or Get a Demo, and the home page offers to show the platform in 30 minutes. Before that call a team can watch an on-demand demo, take a product tour, or try the ROI calculator and maturity assessment, and the explainer invites readers to jump into a free lesson to see what their own courses could look like.

For customers, the site lists Professional Services, Support & Services, Global Services and Enablement Consulting, along with Seismic University, the Seismic Community and a Trust Center. An on-site assistant called Summer offers instant answers to questions about Seismic and sales enablement. The FAQ confirms Seismic is mobile friendly, with access to training materials and resources across devices, anytime and anywhere.

Who Seismic suits

Seismic suits larger organizations with a dedicated enablement function that want training, coaching, content and analytics in one system. A team that already runs Salesforce and wants learning data next to pipeline data, or an enablement leader who needs AI role-play and coaching plans as well as a lesson builder, gets all of it from one vendor. Companies in financial services, technology and life sciences will find industry pages written for them.

The caveat is scope. Seismic is an enablement suite first, so a small team that only wants a quick course builder, or only wants AI role-play practice, will find much of the platform beyond what it needs. Training teams outside sales should also note that the Learning page is written almost entirely for reps and their managers, even though the lesson builder, training records and completion tracking work for any employee.
