SEAS, Estudios Superiores Abiertos, is a Spanish online training school for working professionals in industry and business. Its homepage banner reads "20 AÑOS EN FORMACIÓN TÉCNICA 100% ONLINE" (20 years of 100% online technical training), and the company, SEAS, Estudios Superiores Abiertos S.A.U., gives its address in Zaragoza. The site states that it has been teaching online for "más de 20 años" (more than 20 years) and now does so "a través de más de 200 programas formativos divididos en 11 áreas de actividad" (through more than 200 training programs in 11 areas), and that "hemos formado a más 100.000 alumnos" (we have trained more than 100,000 students). The site is in Spanish. Its reader is an adult technician, engineer or office professional who wants to upskill without leaving work, from a single 150-hour course up to a master's program.
What SEAS teaches
The catalog is technical and industrial. The subject areas are automation, mechanical design, IT, maintenance and production, renewable energy, quality, electricity and electronics, civil engineering, digital marketing, motor, HR and protocol, and welding. Example programs on the homepage show the range: masters in industrial automation, Industry 4.0, mechanical design and production with CAD-CAM-CAE, smart buildings, industrial maintenance, industrial organization, motorsport engineering, and welding design and calculation; courses in programmable controllers with TIA Portal, CNC programming, environmental management with ISO 14001, solar photovoltaics, hybrid and electric vehicles, hydrogen processes and fuel cells, wastewater treatment, lean manufacturing, SEO, e-commerce, human resources and diplomatic protocol; and university expert programs in quality and CSR, 3D design and printing, and electric and hydrogen mobility.
Programs come in levels: "Másteres de Formación Permanente" (continuing education masters), "Diplomas de Especialización Universitaria" (university specialization diplomas), "Expertos Universitarios" (university expert programs), single courses, and "Ciclos Formativos de Grado Superior" (higher vocational training cycles). The menu also lists Endesa Nudo Mudéjar courses and employment training for the Aragón region.
The IT and coding area
The IT page is the most detailed and makes the scale of each level concrete. A double master's in security and IT applications runs 3,000 hours and 120 ECTS. Single masters such as multiplatform application development, web, mobile and online marketing development, graphic and web design, and integrated security, systems and networks run 1,500 hours and 60 ECTS. University specialization diplomas in graphic and web design, web design and e-commerce, networks and communications, and IT systems security run 900 hours and 36 ECTS. University expert programs, such as web application development, data analytics, Linux and Windows Server administration, IT security, and digital transformation, mostly run 450 hours and 18 ECTS, with a web design and programming expert at 600 hours and 24 ECTS and a cybersecurity and data protection expert at 375 hours and 15 ECTS.
Most single courses run 150 hours and 6 ECTS. Coding courses include Java, PHP, C programming, object-oriented analysis and design with UML, Python, advanced Python, machine learning in Python, and web programming with HTML5 and JavaScript. Two of them include a Cisco credential: the Python course offers "tu Declaración de Logros verificada por CISCO que te habilita para la certificación Python" (your Cisco-verified statement of achievement, which qualifies you for the Python certification), and the web programming course does the same for the JSE certification. The cybersecurity course, covering "ciberseguridad, hacking ético y análisis forense" (cybersecurity, ethical hacking and forensic analysis), comes with a Cisco-verified digital badge. Other IT courses cover WordPress, web design, graphic design with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, user interface design, SCRUM, agile methods, project management, Linux, Linux network and server administration, corporate network planning, IT auditing, computer networks, data transmission, big data and virtualization, email marketing and SEO. A data protection officer course runs 225 hours and 9 ECTS. Two vocational cycles in multiplatform and web application development run 2,000 hours each and are delivered with Centro San Valero. The page lists the roles this training points toward, among them IT project manager, web application programmer, mobile app developer, online marketing manager, e-commerce manager, systems and network administrator, information systems audit consultant and software developer.
How study works
Everything is online through SEAS's own virtual campus. The IT page credits "El seguimiento individualizado y guiado de nuestros alumnos a través del campus virtual y el uso de herramientas de apoyo como simuladores, clases en directo o recursos multimedia" (individual, guided follow-up through the virtual campus and support tools such as simulators, live classes and multimedia resources). The homepage highlights personalized teaching support, teachers who are working professionals, practice-oriented study and a university-specific title. Its description of the method lists "jornadas presenciales o por streaming" (in-person or streamed sessions), support for students' individual projects, help with internships and a job board, and a student community, with an Alumni SEAS network in the menu.
Titles and recognition
Titles and official qualifications come through partners. The homepage says SEAS works toward "el reconocimiento de nuestra formación como títulos propios universitarios de la Universidad San Jorge" (recognition of our training as university-specific titles of Universidad San Jorge). For official qualifications, it says other schools use it to deliver online vocational cycles, naming Centro San Valero and CPA Salduie, and that it is the partner for Bachelor degrees of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. A "Certificaciones y Reconocimientos Profesionales" section promises certifications "respaldados por marcas líderes y entidades de referencia" (backed by leading brands and reference bodies), and the menu lists exam centers and a section for companies.
Outcomes
The IT page reports survey results "durante los últimos tres cursos académicos finalizados" (over the last three completed academic years): "el 76% de nuestro alumnado asegura haber mejorado profesionalmente tras finalizar sus estudios" (76% of our students say they improved professionally after finishing). IT students rated teacher support and availability 9, study satisfaction 8.6, and schedule and pace flexibility on the virtual campus 9.3.
Who it suits and who it does not
SEAS suits a Spanish-speaking professional in industry or IT who wants structured, credit-bearing study online: a maintenance technician moving into automation, an engineer adding CAD-CAM-CAE or welding design, an IT worker heading toward cybersecurity, or a developer learning Python with a Cisco-verified credential. The ECTS figures and hour counts on every program make the commitment easy to compare, from 150 hours to 3,000.
The site publishes no prices; costs come through an information request form. Learners who do not read Spanish, or who want short, casual courses, will find the format a poor match.
