What International Career Institute is
International Career Institute (ICI) is a distance-learning career college that sells self-paced vocational courses at certificate, diploma and advanced diploma level. Its home page says it offers these levels "in over 50 different subjects, from Counselling & Psychology, to Hairdressing, to Nursing & Patient Care Assisting", and its headline figures are 191 countries, 59,192 students, 57 courses and a 4.8/5 rating. The pitch is aimed at adults who want to launch, change or advance a career without attending classes: "We believe that nothing should get in the way of you achieving your goals," the home page says, which is why the courses are designed to fit around the learner's schedule.

How study works
ICI describes its delivery as "entirely via distance learning", which it notes "is also known as correspondence learning". There is no timetable and no assignment deadlines. On the Real Estate course page, students "typically complete their Diplomas within 24 weeks", but they can fast track and graduate in a matter of months or take much longer, with up to three years allowed to finish. Assessments and tutor help are available wherever the learner is in the world.
Support is the part ICI stresses most. The home page says every student has "the support of a qualified personal tutor every step of the way", with guidance on assignments, feedback and advice, and expert answers to questions. The Real Estate page lists what an enrolled student receives: all required study materials and course notes, assignment projects with constructive tutor feedback, and a tutor who will answer all course and career questions. The home page adds that all learning materials are included at no additional cost and that there are no hidden fees.
Enrollment runs to cut-off dates. The Real Estate page names Friday, 2nd October 2026 as the next enrollment cut-off date and says places are limited and allocated first come, first served. Enrollments are acknowledged within 24 hours, and course materials arrive within days.
An example: the Real Estate Diploma
The Real Estate course shows what a diploma looks like in practice. It has four units. Property Sales covers appraisal, building a client base, obtaining listings, marketing property, sales by private treaty and by auction, monitoring the sales process and documentation. Property Management covers managing property and accounting to the landlord, recording management transactions, negotiating with landlords and tenants, and maintaining rented properties. Business Practices covers agency risk, a personal marketing plan and confirming property information. Agency Services covers property development and marketing services and presenting property reports.
The page describes the Diploma level as recognizing "the graduate's capacity for initiative and judgement across a broad range of technical and management functions." It says the course was designed in consultation with real estate experts and is written and delivered by professionals with experience of the property market. It also says, plainly, that the course "was not designed to qualify for any specific registration or licensing regulations. It is purely a property sales and management training course." Anyone who needs an agent's license in their jurisdiction should read that sentence before enrolling.
Credentials and recognition
On completion, a Real Estate graduate receives a graduation certificate, transcripts showing the units completed, a letter of recommendation and validation for current and future employers, and post-nominal letters, for example "John Smith, DipRE". The course page says it is "recognised and accredited by the International Association of Private Career Colleges (IAPCC)", and the home page says ICI's courses are recognized by industry organizations around the globe and developed in consultation with industry experts. The Real Estate page also notes that course fees can be claimed as a tax deduction as long as the learning is sufficiently connected to the student's work.
Prices and payment
ICI's home page promises competitively priced courses, interest-free payment plans and discounts on upfront payments. The Real Estate Diploma shows how that works: a one-off payment of $1,237, which saves 10%, or a weekly installment plan of $49 for 28 weeks, interest free, totaling $1,372. The page promotes getting started "for as little as $49 per week". The footer also links to scholarships.
Career services and employers
After graduation, ICI offers what it calls a whole range of free career services through its Graduate Career Services Programme, designed to help graduates find employment or start their own business. The home page lists help with creating resumes, fine-tuning job searches and preparing for interviews. It also says many high-profile companies and government departments use ICI for training, naming The Red Cross, HSBC Bank and Mitsubishi as organizations whose staff have enrolled.
Prospective students can request a full course guide, chat with the institute, or call its listed phone line.
Who it suits
International Career Institute suits adults who want a structured, tutor-supported vocational course they can fit around work and family: people entering fields such as real estate, bookkeeping, events or beauty, staff looking for a practical diploma toward a promotion, and anyone who prefers paying weekly rather than up front. The open entry helps too, since the Real Estate page says there are no previous work or education requirements for any course level. The main caveat comes from ICI itself: its diplomas are career training, not licenses, so learners heading for a regulated role should check what their local licensing body requires.
