What EFEB is

EFEB is a Hungarian adult education center, EFEB Felnőttoktatási Központ, that trains adults for new jobs through vocational courses taught in a classroom, live online or as e-learning. Its home page sums up the offer as "Tantermi, élő online és e-learning képzések rugalmas tanulási lehetőségekkel" (classroom, live online and e-learning courses with flexible ways to learn). The footer gives a Budapest mailing address and two license numbers: EFEB Felnőttoktatási Központ Kft. holds adult training license E/2020/000339, and EFEB Akadémia Kft., which organizes the courses marked with an asterisk, holds registration number B/2020/001638.

The reader it serves is a Hungarian-speaking adult changing or upgrading a career: someone who needs a certificate for a job, an employee sent by their workplace, or a career changer, a group the blog addresses directly in an article on changing careers after 40. The home page also speaks to people still searching for the old OKJ qualifications: "Az OKJ rendszer megszűnt, de sokan még ezen a néven keresik a szakmai képzéseket" (the OKJ system has ended, but many still look for vocational training under that name), and it says that at EFEB "a korábbi OKJ képzések mai megfelelőit" (today's equivalents of the former OKJ courses) are available, alongside vocational courses and adult education.

EFEB in numbers

The home page lists "25 év tapasztalat" (25 years of experience), "32500+ tanfolyami résztvevő" (32,500+ course participants), "785 indított tanfolyam" (785 courses launched) and "32+ szakképesítés" (32+ qualifications). The course listing page describes its group training in classroom or online form as 15 categories, 67 courses, 3 locations and 20 years of experience, so the two pages count slightly differently.

Prices, installments and durations

Prices are published course by course, each with a lump-sum fee, a lower "from" price, a monthly installment option and a duration. A few examples from the listing:

  • Üzletvezető képzés (business manager, 04165006): 78 210 Ft, from 70 389 Ft, or 28 470 Ft a month in installments. The home page calls it the most popular course, with continuous starts and an intensive option in which the material can be covered and the module exams taken in 3 months.
  • Közművelődési munkatárs képzés (community culture worker, 04134001): 249 900 Ft, from 224 910 Ft, or 44 983 Ft a month, over 6 months.
  • Lakberendező tanfolyam (interior designer, 02124001): 289 900 Ft, from 260 910 Ft, or 31 990 Ft a month, over 10 months.

The cashier and currency cashier course runs on afternoons, 34 hours in total. Some courses are pre-registration only until a group forms, such as home staging. The home page also ran a notice that courses could be booked at the old price until October 2, and lists courses opening on 2026-10-17, including rural tourism provider, export coordinator, education organizer, warehouse worker and technical sales assistant.

How the three formats work

EFEB lets learners pick between three ways to study and explains each one on the home page:

  • Tantermi képzés (classroom): direct interaction with teachers and classmates, a group experience, a structured timetable and effective practical teaching, at fixed times and places.
  • Online bekapcsolódás (joining online): the classroom course followed live from anywhere, with real-time interaction, following the same timetable.
  • E-learning: maximum flexibility, studying at one's own pace with materials always available, and a lower course fee with no travel costs.

For hybrid courses, lessons are recorded: "az oktatási alkalmak rögzítésre kerülnek, és a tanfolyam ideje alatt bármikor korlátlanul visszanézhetőek" (the sessions are recorded and can be rewatched any time, without limit, during the course).

Exams, materials and support

EFEB runs its own Vizsgaközpont (exam center), which organizes module-closing exams (modulzáró vizsga), and a webshop selling textbooks and notes at low prices. There are pages on discounts, enrollment, complaints handling and quality policy, a section for companies (Cégeknek), and a vocational secondary school among its services. Learners can call or email info@efeb.hu.

Teacher profiles show real professional backgrounds. Pordán Andrea is a secondary school teacher of English language and literature who studied at the Veszprémi Egyetem and the University of Leeds. Dr. Gutassy Attila is a qualified mechanical engineer with further engineering specializations. Gyutai Szilvia, an architect by training, took EFEB's own interior design course in 2011, then founded her studio, SyStyle Interior, and now teaches at EFEB.

Student reviews on the home page are specific. Tamási Balázs writes: "Nekem sürgősen kellett a tanúsítvány, ezért nagyon jó, hogy 5 hónap alatt elvégezhető a tanfolyam!" (I needed the certificate urgently, so it was great that the course can be completed in 5 months). Nagyné Klaudia found "az ingyenes workshop" (the free workshop) a great help in finishing the course, and Kissné Klára was sent by her employer and found everyone very helpful.

Who it suits and who it does not

EFEB suits Hungarian-speaking adults who want a vocational certificate for a specific job, from warehouse work and sales to veterinary assistance, interior design or payroll, and who want to choose how they attend. The recorded hybrid lessons suit people with shifts or family duties, and the published prices and monthly installments make budgeting simple.

It is a weaker fit for anyone who does not read Hungarian, and for learners who want a purely self-paced library of short courses: most of the catalog is structured group training lasting several months.
