What E-LEARN PT is
E-LEARN PT is a Portuguese-language online training school that sells individual, tutor-supported e-learning courses to working professionals. Its presentation page says E-LEARN PT® is a registered national trademark, number 538469 at the Instituto Nacional da Propriedade Industrial, owned by the company E-LEARN PTLMS, Lda. Its stated mission is to help professionals change their practice through online training that is "útil, aplicável e flexível" (useful, applicable and flexible), "com apoio próximo" (with close support).
The reader it serves is a learner already in work: a teacher or educator, an adult trainer, a social educator working with children or older people, a quality or safety officer, or someone running a food business who has to meet legal duties. The home page speaks directly to the frustrations of that reader, listing training that only exists "para cumprir horas" (to tick off hours), too much theory and too little application, and courses people signed up for and never used. Its answer is short: content written by specialists and tested in real settings, close and human support even at a distance, and courses that can be applied straight away.
What the catalog covers
The home page groups the offer into seven training areas and counts the courses in each:
- Ciências da Educação (education sciences): 31 courses, by far the largest area.
- Segurança e Higiene no Trabalho (health and safety at work): 11 courses.
- Formação Avançada / Percursos Formativos (advanced training and course paths): 7 courses.
- Enquadramento na Organização/Empresa (the organization and the company): 5 courses.
- Indústrias Alimentares (food industries): 4 courses.
- Gestão e Administração (management and administration): 3 courses.
- Secretariado e Trabalho Administrativo (secretarial and administrative work): 1 course.
The education area is where most learners land, and the testimonials name many of its courses: Dislexia (dyslexia), Método Montessori, Sala de Aula Invertida (the flipped classroom), Educação Ambiental e Desenvolvimento Sustentável, Recursos Didáticos e Multimédia, Planificação, Gestão e Avaliação de Projectos Educativos, Especialização em Coordenação Pedagógica, and Especialização e-Formadores for people who teach online. On the quality side there are Ferramentas da Qualidade and Gestão da Qualidade (NP EN ISO 9001:2015).
Featured courses and prices
Courses are sold one at a time, and the home page shows four featured courses with their prices:
- Violência Doméstica (domestic violence), taught by Sónia Gonçalves, at €52.95. The course page says it teaches learners to identify, prevent and intervene in situations of domestic violence, with the general aim of developing intervention strategies and techniques.
- Violência na Terceira Idade (violence against older people), at €49.90, built the same way for situations involving the elderly.
- Food Defense (Defesa Alimentar), at €59.90, which teaches how to apply a food defense plan in an organization in order to control internal and external vulnerabilities through preventive measures.
- Implementação do Sistema HACCP, at €66.90, which the site says lets learners "desenvolver, implementar e gerir um sistema HACCP no seu estabelecimento" (develop, implement and manage a HACCP system in their own establishment) while meeting the legal obligation.
Each course page follows a fixed pattern: the practical application of the course first, then a general objective and specific objectives. The site also sells training packs and advanced course paths, and the blog has run seasonal campaigns, such as a summer 2023 campaign with offers of up to 35€ and a workplace safety day campaign with discounts of up to 45€.
How the courses work
The school builds its courses for online study from the start rather than putting PDFs online. Its e-learning page states that training based on PDF files is not "verdadeiro e-Learning" (real e-learning), and that its team develops content following the technical specifications of international e-learning standards, giving learners "uma verdadeira aprendizagem em ambiente online" (real learning in an online environment). In practice that means easy access, a pedagogical sequence, readable graphics, text, images, diagrams and video, learner autonomy, interactivity between content and learner, and flexibility for different learning speeds. Content is updated constantly.
Study is flexible but not open-ended. The home page says learners study at any time and anywhere, doing the work at their own pace "dentro do prazo do curso" (within the course's time frame). The platform is responsive, so it works on a computer, tablet or smartphone. One learner, Ana Lopes, valued that the lessons are asynchronous, so she could follow them at different times and places around family and work.
The trainer is involved throughout. According to the home page, the trainer answers questions, runs the discussion forums and comments on the learner's work and assessment activities. The e-learning page adds that the communication channels allow discussion groups, demonstrations and simulations, so learners build links with each other and with trainers. Reviews praise this side most often: Cristina Santos writes that her trainer, "sempre atenta" (always attentive), helped with questions and kept the group motivated.
Support and trainers
Learners get a reserved area on the e-learning platform, an online learning guide, a questions-and-answers guide and WhatsApp support. The school can also be reached by phone and by email at info@e-learn.pt.
Trainer profiles show who teaches. Sónia Gonçalves, who teaches the violence courses, lists a degree in social education, a postgraduate qualification in business management, a specialization in human resources management, an international coaching certification and certification as a trainer by the IEFP. Her profile cites experience training geriatric care, home support, community support and educational action technicians, and work as a social educator on IPSS projects with children, adolescents, older people and learners with special educational needs, including projects on domestic violence, child abuse and violence against older people. She is also listed as an e-trainer and e-tutor at E-LEARN PT. The site invites other trainers to apply through its "Seja nosso Formador" section.
For organizations
Besides its own catalog, the school offers to turn an organization's training materials into e-learning courses ("Transformamos os seus materiais de formação em cursos e-Learning"), and its vision mentions digital consulting alongside distance training. The home page also pitches online study to employers as a way to avoid the travel, logistics and costs of classroom training.
Who it suits and who it does not
E-LEARN PT suits Portuguese-speaking professionals who want a short, practical course with a real trainer behind it: teachers looking at dyslexia, Montessori or flipped classrooms, adult trainers moving online, social workers dealing with violence and abuse, and food or quality staff who need HACCP, food defense or ISO 9001 knowledge. Featured courses priced between €49.90 and €66.90 make a single purchase easy to justify.
It is a weaker fit for learners who do not read Portuguese, for anyone who wants a large catalog across every subject, since the offer is concentrated in education, safety, food and quality, and for people who want to take a course with no time frame at all.
