What Xarala is
Xarala is a tech training school from Dakar, Senegal, that teaches artificial intelligence, automation, software development and data to learners and teams in French-speaking Africa. Its home page headline is "Maîtrisez l'IA et la tech. Depuis l'Afrique, pensée pour l'Afrique." (Master AI and tech. From Africa, designed for Africa.) and its tagline is "La technologie dans votre langue" (technology in your language). The site says Xarala has been training talent and teams since 2020, online and in person, in Dakar and beyond, and that it has trained 40,000+ learners across 6 countries of francophone Africa.
The school runs two branches. Xarala Academy is for individuals who want to land a tech job, start their own business or build new skills, and it offers mentored bootcamps, online courses, real projects and support through to employment. Xarala Business is for organizations that want to train their teams in AI and put it to work in their processes.
How Xarala teaches
The home page gives three reasons to choose Xarala. The first is that it is "100% pratique, 100% africain" (100% practical, 100% African): the content is not translated from English, and the examples come from everyday African life, so learners can apply what they learn the next day. The second is a dedicated mentor and real projects. The page promises no endless theory: learners build real projects with a mentor who works alongside them. The third is that training should not be a luxury, which shapes how Xarala is paid for and accessed.
The bootcamps sit at the center of the Academy. The site's testimonials section names the Data Analyst bootcamp, through which Maimouna Paye moved into a new profession, and describes Marième Djité's path from student to community manager. A line about learners in development sums up the approach as practice first, employment after. An older post on the Xarala blog invites readers to join the bootcamp, saying it is possible to become a developer in just 12 weeks. Alongside the bootcamps, the Academy sells online courses, and a Become a mentor page recruits the mentors who guide learners. The blog's author note describes Xarala Academy as an e-learning solution offering quality training that answers the demands of the job market, and learners sign in to the platform with their own account.
The subjects follow the school's focus on careers. The home page lists AI, automation, development and data, and describes learners transforming their careers through AI, no-code and tech. The Xarala blog, written in French, covers web development, digital marketing, Python, JavaScript, PHP, UI/UX design, community management, artificial intelligence and ChatGPT, with recent guides on writing ChatGPT prompts, learning the cloud, using ChatGPT prompts to sell on WhatsApp, and becoming a digital project manager. A Django tutorial on protecting a project's secret key shows the technical side of the material.
Who the Academy is for
The site names three groups of learners: students, working professionals and people changing careers. Their goals are listed as getting a job, launching a business and becoming more productive. That makes Xarala a school for the career changer who wants a first role in data or development, the student who wants practical skills before entering the job market, and the professional who wants to use AI in their current work.
Results the site reports
Xarala puts one outcome figure at the front: "87% d'insertion professionnelle en 6 mois" (87% professional placement within 6 months). The mentor section repeats it, saying 87% of its graduates find a job within 6 months. The site also says organizations including an international NGO, a large agri-food company and a public institution already trust it.
Paying and learning on a phone
Xarala builds its access model around African realities. Learners can pay in several installments through Wave and Orange Money, the mobile-money services named on the home page. The platform is designed for real-world internet connections, and the site says learners can study from their phone wherever they are. The site publishes no course prices on its home page.
Xarala Business
For organizations, Xarala Business offers AI training built around a team's real tasks, with productivity gains measured before and after the training. Every engagement starts with a free diagnostic. The site says SMEs, mid-sized companies, international NGOs and public institutions train their teams and deploy AI in their processes with Xarala, and it backs this with the promise "Résultat mesuré, ou on revient" (results measured, or we come back).
The business offer has three parts. Consulting and strategy work out where AI brings the most return and draw up a roadmap, so the client invests in the right places rather than everywhere. Team training makes staff autonomous on their real tasks, with a measured gain. System implementation builds the tools themselves: acquisition systems, websites, AI agents and automations. The services are aimed at leadership teams, operational teams and creative teams, and the site's menu lists an AI diagnostic, team training, automation and client case studies.
Free resources
Xarala also gives a lot away. Its YouTube channel and social accounts carry free tutorials, demonstrations and advice on AI, automation and no-code, such as building a first AI agent in under 20 minutes as a beginner, producing a market study with AI, and marketing in the age of AI. A free weekly newsletter sends the AI uses, resources and opportunities that matter for francophone Africa, in a format the site says takes 3 minutes to read and can be applied the same day. The French-language blog adds tutorials and career guides.
Who it suits
Xarala suits French-speaking learners in Africa who want practical, mentored training in data, development or AI, taught with local examples rather than translated material. The installment payments through Wave and Orange Money and the phone-friendly platform make it reachable for learners without a laptop or a large upfront budget. Career changers can follow the Data Analyst or development bootcamps toward a first job, while professionals and business owners can use the short AI and automation content to work faster. Organizations across the region can bring Xarala in to train teams and build AI systems, starting with a free diagnostic. Learners who want to study in English will need another school, since the site, the blog and the training materials it describes are in French.
