Cadmium is a suite of event and continuing education software for associations and other organizations that educate professionals. It sells two learning management systems, an association LMS for professional associations and nonprofits and EthosCE for healthcare continuing education, alongside Eventscribe for event management and Warpwire for secure media management and livestreaming. The company describes the four as "one integrated ecosystem" covering event management, continuing education, livestreaming, media hosting and analytics, so an association can run its annual meeting, its on-demand library and its credit tracking with one vendor.

The home page says Cadmium has more than 25 years of experience and is trusted by over 1,000 associations. Its counters list 1,030 total customers, 8 Million+ learners and 700+ CE organizations. It works with professional associations, medical organizations, credentialing organizations, nonprofits with education programs and higher education institutions.

What the suite covers

The home page groups the work into three goals:

  • Educate your profession: continuing education management, certification and accreditation tracking, on-demand learning libraries and year-round professional development
  • Connect your community: in-person, hybrid and virtual events, networking and attendee engagement, speaker and abstract management, and personalized event experiences
  • Grow your organization: non-dues revenue from courses and certifications, sponsorship and exhibitor opportunities, content monetization, and engagement analytics and reporting

The learning side is where Cadmium fits this category. Its LMS products deliver continuing education, certifications and professional development with accreditation management, credit tracking and on-demand learning, and the company says they are designed specifically for associations.

The association LMS

Cadmium's LMS for associations and nonprofits (listed on its request form as "Association LMS") is a cloud-based platform for creating, selling and sharing a learning portfolio. The company's own guide to association LMS options describes what it does:

  • builds courses for a wide range of learners, outcomes and themes, with customizable curriculum development
  • makes learning accessible to all learners and gathers learner feedback
  • offers in-person, hybrid and virtual learning, and combines with on-demand and live events
  • integrates with the association's AMS and supports communication with users
  • adds social learning, data tracking and analytics
  • carries the association's branding, so the platform reads as an extension of the association
  • organizes continuing education into a searchable center for knowledge

The FAQ says the LMS extends learning beyond the event with on-demand courses, certifications and community-driven engagement in one central hub. Cadmium pitches it as a cost-effective, customizable platform built for the learning needs of nonprofits and associations, and says consolidating tools into one platform can reduce training costs. It also notes that the same setup works for volunteer training, so paid staff and unpaid volunteers learn from the same materials. That gives a nonprofit an internal training use alongside member education.

EthosCE for healthcare education

EthosCE is Cadmium's LMS for medical associations and healthcare organizations. The FAQ says CME providers use it to build courses, simplify accreditation, issue and track credits, and offer flexible formats for busy professionals. Its e-commerce tools let providers bundle, sell and monetize content. The company's guide adds enduring content creation, learner engagement and tracking of educational outcomes, and says EthosCE suits smaller teams building a branded library. A case study describes how the American Thoracic Society built a compliant learning ecosystem with EthosCE Learning Groups for complex content with strict compliance needs.

Events and video

Eventscribe is the event management system. With it, an association manages abstracts, speakers, exhibitors, registration, the event website and mobile app, and post-event resources in one connected system, for in-person, virtual or blended events. A case study covers how the Entomological Society of America rebuilt its speaker management workflow with the Eventscribe Speaker Ready System. Warpwire adds secure media management and livestreaming, which the company's guide connects to LMS use: uploading event content, livestreaming presentations and combining in-person and on-demand learning.

The point of the combination is that an association's conference sessions, recordings and the courses built from them stay in one ecosystem rather than spread across separate vendors, which the FAQ says reduces administrative complexity and improves data flow.

Results the company reports

The home page cites a 48% increase in member engagement, says 1,000+ organizations have simplified complex operations, and says 692 associations have added new revenue streams through paid courses, sponsorships, events and certification programs. These are Cadmium's own figures, presented without a method.

Customer quotes focus on service. Sara Hynes of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses says, "The products themselves are very user friendly both for the front end user, and also for the admin set up." Pat Ettl of the National Association of Colleges and Employers describes 7 years with the company and calls the customer service "stellar and always in a timely manner." Jan Aument of the National Oral Health Conference credits Cadmium with handling the conference from abstract submission and speaker management through exhibitors, registration, the app, the website and surveys.

Security, support and resources

For its LMS products, Cadmium says it uses encryption to transfer and store sensitive data, provides user access controls and performs regular backups. The FAQ says the platform has reporting, analytics and security built in, and that the support team guides customers before, during and after launch. Each product has its own support portal and support phone line, and the site runs a status page, a Trust Center, a product roadmap page, and a partner program with a partner directory and integrations list.

Customers can also learn through Cadmium University, which offers webinars and on-demand courses, and Cadmium Spark, an event for Cadmium users and for event and continuing education professionals.

Pricing

The site publishes no prices. Buyers request a demo or submit a request for proposal, which the company says brings a quick acknowledgment, a review by its solutions team and a tailored proposal.

Who it suits

Cadmium fits associations whose education and events are tightly linked: an organization that runs an annual meeting, turns its sessions into on-demand courses and tracks credits and certifications for members will find all of that inside one vendor. Medical associations and CME providers have a dedicated platform in EthosCE, and associations and nonprofits that also train volunteers can use the association LMS for both groups.

An organization that only needs a simple course catalog, with no events, credits or accreditation, would use a small part of what Cadmium sells. Because the products are licensed through demos and proposals, buyers should expect a sales process rather than a self-serve signup.
