Velsoft Training Materials, Inc. is a courseware publisher and e-learning technology company in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada. It describes itself as "an educational technologies company focusing on content, platforms and custom development." Its main business is a library of ready-made training courses that organizations buy once and load into their own learning management system, sold in three formats: SCORM e-learning, Articulate Storyline source files and instructor-led facilitator kits. Around that library it sells an authoring tool called Build, its own LMS, and custom course development.

The homepage title calls the products "Courseware Kits for training providers," and the reader it serves is a training company, an L&D team or a workforce development program that needs a lot of content quickly and wants the right to brand and adapt it.

The SCORM course library

The SCORM page headline is "400+ SCORM Courses!" and the pitch is simple: "Content is king. If you are like most organizations, you have an LMS and not much in it; we have changed this." The process takes "Two steps": download the SCORM course, then load the file into your LMS. The published course "will be automatically emailed as the ZIP file."

Velsoft says it offers "our award-winning eLearning business training courses in SCORM (or xAPI) format, compatible with all Learning Management systems." Two licensing terms on the page matter most to a buyer: "One-off pricing. You own each course you purchase with no annual renewal fees," and "Unlimited number of users!" The page adds that "new courses added each month," that courses are "professionally developed," and that content is "designed by subject matter experts."

The courseware store shows what the catalog covers and how big each area is. Its category counts include Human Resources (65 products), Workplace Essentials (104), Supervisors and Managers (97), Career Development (90), Computer Fundamentals (55), Microsoft 365 (38), Digital and AI Essentials (29), Train the Trainer (29), Small Business Training for Entrepreneurs (23), Safe Food Handling (18), Sales and Marketing (17), Internet Marketing (12) and Micro Learning Courses (12), with 234 products under Legacy Computer Courses. By format, the store lists 574 ILT Courseware products, 122 in SCORM Format, 122 in Storyline 360 Format and 12 Bundles. Free samples are available in any format, and the sample form invites "as many samples as you like."

Storyline source files and instructor-led kits

For teams that want to edit the content, Velsoft sells courses as Articulate Storyline 360 source files: "It's easier to edit than to build from scratch." The SCORM page sets out the difference. A .story file opens in Storyline 360, all slides can be edited, and it can be published as xAPI, SCORM, AICC or HTML. A SCORM file loads into an LMS "as is" with all interactions already built. A pop-up offers a choice "from 81 courses available in Articulate Storyline (.story) format," and a site banner advertises "Save 70% on Storyline courses."

For classroom delivery, the homepage says Velsoft "offers hundreds of high-quality facilitator kits that supply training providers with everything they need to deliver amazing programs and workshops." Its newest series is a "10-module, customizable Word 365 training series" for training providers, L&D teams and workforce development, offered with one-time licensing, white-label rights and customization.

Published prices

Unlike many content libraries, Velsoft prints prices in its store, in US dollars. Examples on the homepage: instructor-led Microsoft 365 courses (Excel Part 1, Teams and Word, each dated 2026) at $995.00 USD; the instructor-led Adaptive Paradox Leadership in Practice at $795.00 USD; and micro learning courses such as "Emotional Intelligence in Action: Listening," "Emotional Awareness and Connection: Trust," "Self-Management" and "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awareness" at $295.00 USD each. For bundles, formats and organization-wide deals, the site offers a "Talk to a Training Advisor" consultation and a "Request Price" form.

Build, the authoring tool

Velsoft Builder, also called Build, is "100% browser-based and fully responsive eLearning authoring tool available on any web-based browser," with "Over 1000 template pages." It is described as "A true HTML5 web-based eLearning authoring tool," a drag-and-drop block builder that is "Low-code for faster loading" and "Very low cost," with no software to download and output that is "Automatically responsive for mobile devices." The page claims designers can "create dazzling courses in half the time."

Build is "Included FREE in the Velsoft LMS," and anyone can "Try our 10-day free trial and build your own course (or two)." Two testimonials appear on the page. John Smith writes: "Building our course was fast, simple and above all, fun! We were able to bring our launch up by weeks because Velsoft Build just made it so simple." Sam Kent writes that "Velsoft has everything we needed and more to create a site for our client."

Platforms and custom development

The LMS is described as "Our award winning cloud-based learning management system with built-in browser-based authoring." A free trial is offered under the name znanja LMS: "Start your free 30-day trial with znanja LMS," which comes with "8 premium pre-loaded courses" and requires no credit card. The platforms menu also lists Velsoft Virtual Campus ("Everything you need to launch your own online virtual campus platform, including content"), Velsoft Corporate University and a vILT platform for virtual instructor-led training.

When the catalog lacks a topic, the homepage says: "Can't find the training you need? We'll build it for you." Its custom instructional design service uses "a team of expert instructional designers" to build courses for an organization. Case studies on the homepage describe Caribbean projects: training for Jamaican micro, small and medium enterprises, the Caribbean Tourism Institute and the Caribbean Digital Transformation Institute. A customer testimonial from T. Moore in Texas describes "a nationwide online training program for 14,000 participants."

Support comes through a help desk, email, a toll-free number (+1 800 730-7115) and a direct line. The resources menu also lists a Train the Trainer Online Academy and Courseware Assurance for older versions of courses.

Who it suits

Velsoft suits training providers and in-house L&D teams that want to own a large library outright. A training company running workshops can buy facilitator kits, brand them and deliver them. An organization with an LMS and little content can load SCORM courses with no per-learner fees. A design team can buy Storyline source files and adapt them instead of starting from nothing.

It is less of a fit for a buyer who wants a subscription catalog of thousands of video courses, since the model here is buying courses one at a time or in bundles. A small business that needs only a handful of topics can still buy individual titles from the store at the published prices.
