What TÜV AUSTRIA Akademie is

TÜV AUSTRIA Akademie GmbH is the training academy of the TÜV AUSTRIA group, the testing, inspection, audit and certification organization. Its registered seat is in Vienna, and its main training center is at TÜV AUSTRIA-Platz 1 in Brunn am Gebirge. The homepage says it runs "praxisorientierte Kurse und Lehrgänge in den Bereichen Sicherheit, Technik, Umwelt, Qualität und Führung" (practice-oriented courses and programs in safety, technology, environment, quality and leadership). Classroom courses are held at Austrian sites in Vienna, Brunn am Gebirge, Gänserndorf, Graz, Leonding, Salzburg and Innsbruck, and the site also lists international locations.

This entry covers its E-Learning program: a library of ready-made online courses that a company buys to train a large workforce on safety, compliance and quality topics. The page opens by saying e-learning is "ideal, um eine große Anzahl von Mitarbeiter:innen online zu schulen" (ideal for training a large number of employees online). The reader it serves is the safety officer, quality manager, compliance lead or HR team in a German-speaking company that has to brief every employee on the same rules and document it.

How a company buys and runs the courses

There are two ways to license. The page says buyers can "entweder Einzellizenzen nutzen oder Sie buchen eine Lizenz für Unternehmen und integrieren dieses in Ihr bestehendes Lernmanagementsystem": use single licenses, or book a company license and integrate the program into their existing learning management system. The site has a shop with a shopping cart and a separate "Lernplattform" login and a myTÜV customer account, so single learners can buy and take courses on the academy's own platform.

Before buying, a company can try two things. Demo versions of the programs are open to anyone ("Neugierig? Probieren Sie es aus!"), and the page offers a free test access: "Testzugang anfordern und die Vollversion des Lernprogramms 21 Tage kostenlos ausprobieren!" (request test access and try the full version of the program free for 21 days). A brochure covering e-learning and the academy's publishing arm can be downloaded.

The e-learning team has its own contact line, phone +43 (0)5 0454-8140 and the address elearning@tuv.at.

The course library

Most programs on the E-Learning page are in German; the English titles are Information Security: What Everyone Needs to Know; Quality Management: What Everyone Needs to Know; and Social Engineering Security Check: How to Identify Hacker Attacks. The filter on the page groups them into subject areas including digitalization and AI, quality management, data protection, information and cyber security, occupational safety, fire protection, communication and personality, explosion protection, waste management, legal compliance, electrical engineering, photovoltaics, and materials and welding technology.

Awareness courses for every employee. Several programs follow a "Was alle darüber wissen müssen" (what everyone needs to know) format: quality management, information security, whistleblowing and whistleblower protection, and data protection in two versions, one for Germany and one for Austria. The German information security program carries the Comenius EduMedia seal, which the page notes. A social engineering security training teaches staff to recognize hacker attacks.

AI. The newest program, Think AI, subtitled "Leitfaden für den sicheren und effektiven Einsatz von KI" (a guide to the safe and effective use of AI), supports competence building "nach Artikel 4 EU AI Act" (under Article 4 of the EU AI Act).

Workplace safety instructions. A program on occupational health and safety management explains ISO 45001 certification and what to consider when introducing it. Others cover fire protection instruction for employees, safety signs under EN ISO 7010, ergonomics at computer workstations as "ein digitales Lern-Tool für wiederkehrende Unterweisungen" (a digital tool for recurring safety briefings), safe work in explosive atmospheres, and a blackout course that explains what a long power outage would affect and which precautions each person should take beforehand.

Compliance. "Grundlagen der Compliance" is a compact introduction that covers both legally required rules and the ethical values a business and its staff need. A follow-up in the same series deals with gifts, corruption and conflicts of interest, answering practical questions such as which gifts an employee may accept and how to handle a conflict of interest in daily work.

Management systems and environment. An introduction to management systems and the High Level Structure, a step-by-step guide to writing a waste management plan (Abfallwirtschaftskonzept), and a course on handling hazardous waste consignment notes.

Technical and industrial topics. General safety rules in metal production; working methods in metal production covering turning, milling, planing, cutting, welding and grinding (also awarded the Comenius EduMedia seal); electrical basics for photovoltaics, covering system and personal protection; and a preparation course for the International Welding Specialist (IWS)-0 exam, produced with GSI (Gesellschaft für Schweißtechnik International mbH).

Personal skills. A resilience program moves from personal to team resilience with practical exercises.

Beyond e-learning

The academy is mainly a classroom training provider, and the e-learning library sits next to that larger offer. The menu lists personnel certification and recertification, engineer certification, in-house company training, a specialist publishing house (Fachverlag) with an online-book subscription, and apprenticeship training for apprentices and employers. Where no e-learning program fits, the page offers a tailored company offer with training "auch vor Ort in Ihrem Unternehmen" (also on site at your company). Current classroom courses shown on the page include training for dangerous goods officers and a certified hydrogen specialist course, and the academy runs expert days such as a safety day and a fire protection day.

Pricing

The e-learning page publishes no license prices; companies request an offer or test access. Funding options (Fördermöglichkeiten) are listed in the company menu.

Who it suits

TÜV AUSTRIA Akademie's e-learning library suits companies in Austria and Germany that need to brief their whole workforce on data protection, information security, fire safety, ergonomics or AI use, and want content from a recognized testing and certification group that drops into their existing LMS. Manufacturers and metalworking firms get rarer material on production safety and welding, and companies pursuing ISO 45001 get an awareness course to support the rollout. The 21-day full-version trial makes it easy to check a program before licensing it.

It fits best where German is the working language. Only three programs appear with English titles, so a multinational with English-speaking staff would find a small slice of the library usable, and the data protection courses are written for German and Austrian law.
