What It Is
Masterplan is a corporate eLearning platform that pairs a large video course library with the tools to run training across a company. Its own tagline is "Erfolgreiches E-Learning für Unternehmen" (successful eLearning for companies), and the home page sums up the offer: "Erstklassige Kurse. Auf einer Plattform, die begeistert." (First-class courses, on a platform that inspires.) It is built for HR and L&D teams, and the site is in German. The company behind it is Masterplan com GmbH.
The home page says the platform covers whatever a company needs its people to learn: "Ob KI, Soft Skills oder Compliance" (whether AI, soft skills or compliance). It reports that "300+ Unternehmen revolutionieren Corporate Learning mit Masterplan" (300+ companies use it).
The Library
The library holds "über 11.000 Lernelementen und Videokursen in Kinoqualität" (over 11,000 learning elements and video courses in cinema quality). The content mixes Masterplan's own productions, which it calls Masterplan Originals, with selected video courses from international experts and renowned content providers, and the site says this content is available in 15 languages.
The topic overview on the home page gives counts for the main areas:
- Leadership: 1,300+ learning elements, for leadership development at all levels.
- Digital tools: 1,300+, on mastering software and increasing productivity.
- Creativity and innovation: 800+.
- Communication: 500+, for confident presence and efficient collaboration.
- Digital transformation: 250+.
- Artificial intelligence: 250+, on understanding AI and using it sensibly at work.
- Mandatory training (Pflichtschulungen): 250+, covering data protection (DSGVO, the German term for GDPR), compliance and occupational safety.
- Sales and marketing, from pitch to close.
Two formats stand out. Masterplan Shorts is a compact video format ("Noch kürzer, noch einfacher", even shorter, even simpler). And a new foundation course, "KI-Grundlagen für alle Mitarbeitenden" (AI basics for all employees), covers opportunities, risks and use cases. The site ties it to the EU AI Act, saying AI competence is already mandatory under it and that the course teaches every employee to use AI fully and safely.
Power Skills and the AI Coach
Masterplan puts weight on what it calls Power Skills, the universal abilities everyone needs. The dashboard example names collaboration and leadership, emotional intelligence, creativity and innovation, communication, digital competence, clear thinking and decision-making, and global awareness. The site says it analyzes each learner's skill levels and potential and suggests suitable courses.
PACE is the AI coach. The home page describes it as "der persönliche KI-Coach, mit dem alle Mitarbeitenden erworbenes Wissen direkt in die Praxis umsetzen" (the personal AI coach that helps all employees put what they learned into practice). A sample conversation shows a learner asking the coach to explain the steelman method from a course, and the coach answering in plain terms.
Running Training on the Platform
For the lms-business reader, Masterplan is more than a content subscription. Under "Individualisiere jedes Lernerlebnis" the site says administrators can upload their own material, combine it with Masterplan courses, add quizzes and assign all mandatory training to the right teams. The content types it lists are the content library, quiz elements, video upload, SCORM, external links, file upload, video embedding and live events. Learning paths can be built from these pieces and reused.
The site also says Masterplan "ist kompatibel mit bestehenden LMS und LXP" (is compatible with existing LMS and LXP), so it can extend an existing learning setup rather than replace it. A dashboard lets admins manage licenses, see course completion rates and follow learning activity across the workforce, with views of learning progress, learning time and the most popular courses. Learners can use the web platform or the app for iOS and Android.
The use cases listed are company-wide upskilling, mandatory training, onboarding, product training, role-based upskilling and self-directed learning. Customer quotes illustrate several: an HR officer says reusable learning paths meant fewer staff were needed for recurring training, a head of HR says new hires can start learning about the company culture on day one, and DMG MORI is credited with saving about 1,800 days in sales compared with classroom training through digital product training.
Support and Security
Masterplan offers a customer success team for implementation, onboarding and maximizing results, "Selbst bei der Produktion eigener High-Quality-Kurse" (even for producing your own high-quality courses). Stefan Peter, Head of Digital Academy at DMG MORI, says: "Wöchentlich besprechen wir gemeinsam, wie wir die Lernaktivität steigern können" (every week we discuss together how to increase learning activity).
On security, the footer states: "Your data is protected accordingly with ISO/IEC 27001 and TISAX certificates."
Results the Company Reports
The home page publishes several customer figures. At Hein & Oetting, HR reports 30% less organizational work six months after launch, mainly thanks to reusable learning paths for recurring mandatory training. The Otto Group reaches 35,000 employees with Masterplan, who learn an average of 100 minutes a month. At Domino's, 97% of employees are actively learning one year after launch. Masterplan says employees on its platform learn 152 minutes a month on average, and that 91.4% of users are enthusiastic about the platform and will keep using it.
Resources for L&D Teams
Around the product, Masterplan runs a community it describes as 2,000+ L&D professionals, with 1,000+ taking part in events and exchange. It offers L&DeepDive free courses on L&D topics, a podcast, webinars, guides, a glossary, a newsletter, a learning culture analysis, a free AI Health Check for organizations, and a ROLI calculator for estimating the return on learning investment. A company blog post walks HR teams through choosing a learning platform in four steps, including how to calculate the ROI of a learning program.
Pricing
The site does not publish prices. Buyers can book a demo or test the platform through the "Plattform testen" (test the platform) link.
Who It Suits
Masterplan suits German-speaking companies that want a large, polished video library and the tools to run their own training in one place: mandatory compliance and safety courses, onboarding, product training and leadership programs. The customer list runs from mid-size firms to large groups such as the Otto Group, and the SCORM support and LMS compatibility suit companies that already have a learning system.
It is a weaker fit for a team that only needs a handful of courses, and buyers who need a price list before a conversation will have to book a demo.
