What It Is

manebi eラーニング (manebi eLearning) is a Japanese corporate training service that combines a large library of ready-made courses with a learning management system, and adds instructor-led group training (集合研修) on request. It is built for HR and training teams in Japanese companies, and the site, courses and support are in Japanese. The operator, manebi inc., gives its address in the Shinjuku Sumitomo Building in Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo.

The home page headline describes AI-equipped eLearning for efficient learning ("AI搭載eラーニングで効率的な学習を実現"). The company frames the service as end-to-end support for employee education, from acquiring knowledge through practice and retention, all the way to reflecting results in performance evaluation and pay systems ("成果を人事評価や賃金制度に反映するまで").

The Course Library

The library is the core of the product: "2,100コース・10,000本以上の教材" (2,100 courses and 10,000+ teaching materials). A footnote in the company's article clarifies that the figure includes optional videos. The home page adds "manebiでは動画教材やスコーム教材はもちろん、電子書籍(eBook)もご活用いただけます" (at manebi you can use video and SCORM materials, and eBooks as well). The courses are grouped five ways:

  • By theme: compliance, harassment, information security, risk management, management, business manners and business skills.
  • By level: new employees, young employees and leaders.
  • By job type: sales, retail, marketing, HR, and training for dispatched (temporary) staff.
  • IT: IT and PC skills, AI and DX (digital transformation).
  • By industry: real estate, logistics and construction, with a separate menu entry for construction and manufacturing training.

The company's article says all of this is available on a flat fee as unlimited viewing ("定額で見放題"), and lists business manners, compliance, management for managers and PC skills among the content.

Customers are not limited to the library. Companies can upload their own materials, and the article names work manual videos, PDFs and tests. That is how one customer, the hotel chain Super Hotel, runs onboarding training and promotion exams across 160 locations, using the test function and its own uploaded material, and how Ono Photo Studio turned in-house hair and makeup techniques into videos to train staff across 24 locations.

Formats and Ease of Use

The home page says manebi delivers video materials and also supports e-books (電子書籍). Learners use it on a PC, smartphone or tablet through a web browser; the article notes there is no dedicated app to install.

Ease of use is a central selling point. The home page promises a simple, intuitive interface that needs no manual. Its Course Map feature (コースマップ機能) shows the content and steps of each training, so a learner only clicks through the items displayed. The article describes the same idea as a training map that lays out a first step and then a test, by level or job type, which the company links to higher completion rates.

AI Curriculum Suggestions

The AI feature sits on the HR side. The home page says that from the 2,100 courses, AI supports the design of an optimal learning plan based on genre and training time. The article explains it from the administrator's point of view: enter the target group and purpose of a training, and AI picks a suitable curriculum from the library and proposes it, cutting the time HR spends designing training. The service menu also lists a product called Wonder AI.

Support and Instructor-Led Training

manebi lists three kinds of hands-on support:

  1. Designing tests and surveys: comprehension tests and satisfaction or engagement surveys, from drafting questions to setting them up in the tool.
  2. Setting up and running training: advice on which training to assign to whom, content selection, configuration in the system and sending reminders to raise participation.
  3. Arranging instructors and running sessions: for group or hybrid training, manebi introduces instructors, schedules dates and helps on the day.

The group training is offered as made-to-order design, with expert instructors and an active style built on group work and discussion, covering everything from pre-study to review. The company's article adds that each customer gets a dedicated contact for ongoing support, who advises on how to schedule training for the company's issues and how to measure its effect, so the program does not become a formality. Phone inquiries are answered on weekdays during business hours. A separate HR consulting service links training with evaluation and pay systems, aimed at helping small and mid-size companies reduce staff turnover.

Pricing

manebi publishes its prices. The company's FAQ says the standard plan costs 19,800 yen a month for unlimited use up to 39 IDs, with an initial fee from 100,000 yen. The article adds that from 40 users the price starts at 500 yen per person per month. Billing counts only the IDs activated in a given month ("その月に有効化(利用)したID数」のみで課金"), so the bill follows actual use, and the home page notes that the number of IDs can be changed.

At the time of reading, the home page advertised a campaign of up to 78% off until October 31 for new customers; the footnote says the discount figure applies to the Standard plan at 1,000 IDs or more. A free demo is available, there is a cost calculator based on headcount, and companies can sign up online in about 5 minutes without a sales meeting. The FAQ says accounts are issued right after the application and learning can start within a few days.

Results and Recognition

The home page reports 9,200 companies have implemented manebi (a footnote says this counts customers across manebi inc. as a whole), a service continuation rate of 99% or higher, and 14 million completed course sessions. Customer results shown include a completion rate that rose from about 80% to 99%, a 75% cut in the administrator's workload, and a 40% annual cost reduction. The article attributes the first two figures to Knox Data. Named case studies also include the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (about 150 employees), okicom (120 employees) and Telenet Japan (76 employees). manebi won in the eLearning (systems) category of BOXIL SaaS AWARD Summer 2023, organized by SmartCamp.

Who It Suits

manebi suits Japanese small and mid-size companies that want a broad, Japanese-language course library with simple administration and transparent pricing: the per-ID billing and the 39-ID entry plan make it workable for a team of a few dozen, while the case studies show chains with 160 locations using it at scale. It fits companies that also want to host their own manuals and exams, and those that want group sessions and HR consulting from the same supplier.

It is not designed for organizations that train in English or other languages, and it is a corporate service, not a catalog for individual learners.
