What It Is

KnowledgeCity is a workforce training platform built around a large off-the-shelf video library, the KC Library, with its own learning management system and AI course builder alongside. The company calls the whole thing "an Intelligent Workforce Platform that combines learning, skill assessment, performance management, and compliance into one platform with a single login." It is made for HR, learning and development, safety and compliance, and operations teams, and the site's footer places the company in Carlsbad, CA.

The platform is organized into four groups of products: Learn (KC Library, KC LMS, KC Studio), Grow (KC Performance, KC Skills, KC Map), Comply (KC Safety, KC Phishing, KC Docs) and Hire (KC Recruit, KC Onboard, KC Talent). For this directory the Learn group is the core: a training library, the system to deliver it, and a tool to author courses the library does not cover.

The KC Library

The FAQ describes the library like this: "The KC Library hosts 60,000+ premium training videos across business, compliance, safety, leadership, IT, finance, and soft skills, available in multiple languages." A company blog post gives a lower figure, "over 50,000 training videos", so the number depends on which page you read. Both pages say new content arrives every month.

The subject menu shows the breadth:

  • Business: leadership, management, communication skills, sales, customer service and project management.
  • Compliance: global compliance, legal and ethics, environmental health, government, higher education and anti-harassment.
  • Safety: workplace, industrial, general, equipment and laboratory safety, plus safety administration.
  • Technology: artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, programming, mobile development and DevOps.
  • Finance: accounting principles, finance and investing, regulations, treasury, fraud prevention and retail banking.

According to the blog, each course lists its skill level, duration, languages and description, and the catalog can be filtered by language, because language availability varies from course to course. On accreditation, the FAQ states that "KnowledgeCity is an HRCI Approved Provider, SHRM Recertification Provider, IIBA Endorsed Education Provider, and was named a Training Industry Top 20 Online Learning Library." The blog adds that the library is "accredited by PMI, SHRM, HRCI, and IIBA" and dates the Training Industry listing to its 2025 Top 20 Online Learning Library Companies list. The FAQ also says most compliance courses map to OSHA, HIPAA and GDPR requirements.

The library is not tied to KnowledgeCity's own LMS. The product menu says it can be used "on any LMS (SCORM · xAPI · API)", and the FAQ lists support for SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI and AICC for content portability.

KC LMS

For the lms-business reader, KC LMS is described as "a complete learning management system" that automates enrollment and assignments and tracks completion and compliance in a branded portal. Its listed features include:

  • a compliance and assignment engine with rule-based, recurring assignments and an audit-ready trail;
  • learning paths and curricula with prerequisites and path-level certificates;
  • bulk assignment to everyone matching a filter, with exclusions;
  • course delivery for SCORM, xAPI, AICC, video, quizzes and question banks;
  • automated certificate issuance with expiry-driven recertification;
  • gamification with points, badges and leaderboards;
  • native iOS and Android apps with offline content and push notifications;
  • compliance dashboards and integrations including SSO, SCIM, HRIS and webhooks.

The FAQ says the platform supports SAML and OIDC single sign-on with Okta, Azure AD/Entra, Google Workspace and Ping, and SCIM provisioning. On security it says KnowledgeCity "is SOC 2 Type II aligned".

KC Studio, the Authoring Tool

KC Studio covers the course-authoring-tools membership. The FAQ: "KC Studio turns a prompt or source document into a complete course (outline, scripted lessons, AI-narrated video, quizzes, and SCORM-compatible export) in minutes." Every output is editable and exports as SCORM 1.2/2004 or xAPI for any LMS. The feature list adds AI closed captioning, AI video dubbing into multiple languages, AI quiz generation, AI-written course descriptions, a multi-language editor, course cloning, and an override that swaps any AI output for the customer's own upload. An AI Teacher then answers learner questions in context inside the course. The blog positions Studio as the tool for content the library does not cover, such as internal processes.

Skills, Performance and Compliance Modules

The other modules connect to the library. KC Skills builds skills assessments with AI and runs a gap-to-training loop in which gaps auto-assign learning paths. KC Map lets a team define competencies, from O*NET or SFIA frameworks or its own model, and have AI map library courses to them at three proficiency levels before pushing the result to the LMS as learning paths. KC Performance runs review cycles, goals, 360-degree feedback and 1:1s, with course completion visible in the review.

On the compliance side, KC Safety logs incidents and near-misses and generates OSHA 300, 300A and 301 logs; KC Phishing runs simulated phishing campaigns with short follow-up lessons; KC Docs handles versioned policies and read-and-acknowledge sign-offs. The FAQ explains the point of putting them together: "a near-miss reported in Comply can auto-assign retraining in Learn and surface as a skill signal in Grow, without integrations between separate systems."

Pricing, Implementation and Support

The FAQ is specific about the pricing model: "KnowledgeCity is priced per seat per year, with pricing that depends on which of our suites (Grow, Learn, Comply) are activated, the size of the workforce, and the rollout scope." Most customers start with one suite, typically Learn or Comply. No list price is published; quotes come through the demo form, and the site says a specialist responds within one business day.

Implementation, per the FAQ, takes most teams 2-4 weeks for a first suite, led by a Customer Success Manager and including data migration, SSO setup, content mapping and a launch communication plan. The site itself is offered in English, Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese and Chinese.

Who It Suits

KnowledgeCity suits organizations that want a deep, regularly updated video library and the system to assign and track it, especially in regulated industries. The FAQ names manufacturing, energy and utilities, construction, transportation and logistics, banking, government, healthcare and pharma, hospitality and higher education as the deepest fit, and the industry pages describe features such as OSHA logs, hazmat recertification tracking and Title IX training records. HR teams that need SHRM or HRCI recertification content get it inside the same catalog.

It also suits companies that already run another LMS and only want content, since the library travels by SCORM, xAPI or API. A small team that only needs a few courses may find the platform larger than it needs, and anyone who wants a published price will have to request a quote.
