What it is

Immersive Labs, which its site now mostly calls Immersive, is a hands-on cybersecurity training platform for organizations. Instead of slides and quizzes, employees work through browser-based labs where they carry out real security tasks, and the platform records how well they do. It is sold to companies, from their security operations and engineering teams to non-technical staff and the board. The home page calls Immersive "the cyber proving ground for the AI enterprise" and says it helps organizations "prove their people, AI agents, and leadership decisions are ready for a world where AI is used inside the business and against it." Its tagline sums up the difference it claims from ordinary training: "Training shows what people know. Immersive proves what people, teams, agents, and AI-enabled workflows can do under pressure." The site says Immersive is "#1 in the Forrester Wave™ 2026" and "Trusted by 30%+ of the Fortune 100." The platform itself is branded Immersive One.

What a hands-on lab is

The labs page answers this directly: "A hands-on cybersecurity lab is a browser-based environment where an individual completes a real security task against live systems and tooling, rather than answering questions about it." Each lab presents a scenario, such as analyzing malware, investigating an intrusion or exploiting a vulnerability, and then checks the result, "producing evidence of demonstrated capability rather than a completion record." The FAQ sets this against conventional training: "Courses and certifications measure knowledge at a single point in time", whereas "A lab result shows what they can do now, in an environment that mirrors the one they work in." Labs run in hosted environments that reflect the tools, threats and decisions teams face, so learners need nothing installed.

The home page shows the format with sample labs and their running times: "AI: Prompt Injection Attacks" (45 minutes, with a Try Lab button), "Threat Actors: Salt Typhoon" (30 minutes), "Introduction to Incident Response: Ep.5" (20 minutes) and "CTI First Principles: Ep.4."

The catalog and who it covers

The labs page says teams can "build and prove cybersecurity skills across cloud, malware, AI threats, social engineering, and more." Role-based paths let an organization "Create self-paced journeys for SOC, AppSec, CloudSec, AI, OT, OffSec, and wider workforce roles." The FAQ says coverage spans "non-technical employees, developers and engineers, SOC analysts and incident responders, offensive security specialists, and executive leadership", and adds that "Role relevance matters more than catalog volume."

The site's menu organizes the same material by role (Blue Team, Red Team, Developers, Business Users and Leadership) and by use case (cloud, application, offensive, defensive and OT security). For an L&D or security team running a program across the company, the labs page promises "an extensive lab catalog, supported by governance, integrations, and reporting", with tools to align learning to risks and frameworks, track progress and manage programs at scale.

The labs are grouped into collections:

  • AI security: AI foundations, the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs, secure AI coding and prompt-injection scenarios, for technical and non-technical teams.
  • Application security: secure coding labs against the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities for development and security roles.
  • Cloud security: cloud misconfiguration, identity risk and response gaps for security and platform engineering teams.
  • OT security: role-relevant OT and hybrid IT/OT pathways, with safe escalation and decision-making under pressure, tracked by site and team.
  • Offensive security: hyper-realistic attack environments, benchmarked against MITRE ATT&CK, with detailed team analytics.

New threats reach the catalog quickly. The FAQ says Immersive's threat research team "publishes hands-on content in response to emerging vulnerabilities and active campaigns", so teams can practice against a threat while it is still live. That research is published as Container 7, described as "Expert threat intel on the latest cyber threats." HSBC's Head of Global Cybersecurity Operations, TJ Campana, is quoted on the home page: "The speed at which Immersive produces technical content is hugely impressive, giving our teams hands-on experience with serious vulnerabilities, in a secure environment, as soon as they emerge."

Building your own labs

Lab Builder lets an organization "Generate hands-on labs around your technology stack, controls, code, and emerging threats to practice against the risks you actually face." The AI Lab Builder adds a visual editor, an expanded library of templates and labs around proprietary code. A recent platform release lets blue teams exercise in CrowdStrike Next-Gen SIEM.

Drills, exercises and AI agents

Beyond individual labs, the platform covers team and business exercises. Immersive One Cyber Drills "recreate real incidents across people, process, and technology" so an organization can measure readiness and report results. The home page groups the wider platform into four areas: workforce posture (AI literacy and governance, workforce exercises, secure AI development), operational defense (agentic SOC and incident response, hands-on exercising, a dynamic threat range), provable resilience (incident management, organizational resilience reporting, tabletop and crisis simulations for leaders), and agent assurance, which tests whether security AI agents "perform effectively, fail safely, use resources efficiently, and stay governed under pressure." An Agent Tuning feature tests AI analyst archetypes against realistic SIEM data and audits their tool calls and token spend.

Measuring results

Reporting is built around performance rather than completion. The FAQ explains that "Immersive's Resilience Score combines nine measured factors", including security team capability, secure coding practice and framework coverage, "into a single value benchmarked against industry peers." Capability is mapped to MITRE, NIST and other frameworks for leaders and regulators, and teams, roles, cohorts and time periods can be compared. A recent release maps AI threat defense coverage against MITRE ATLAS, and another lets customers set custom goals for resilience pathways. The site's summary: "Completion rates measure attendance. Performance data measures readiness."

Price and access

The site publishes no prices; access starts with a demo request. A help center, a community and a support team are linked from the menu, and the company runs a program called Cyber Million.

Who it suits

Immersive suits larger organizations with in-house security operations, application security or cloud teams that want staff to practice on realistic labs and to show leaders and regulators measured capability. It fits companies adopting AI that want both their workforce and their AI agents tested, and organizations running OT environments. A Mercedes Benz user, Atakan Bal, called the gamified learning "quite enjoyable."

A small business that only needs annual awareness videos will find it more than it needs, and individuals cannot buy it directly from the site.
