Lingua Learn
Tap a star to rate
Lingua Learn is an online language school that teaches live classes with a teacher present, rather than selling an app or a library of recorded lessons. Its FAQ puts the difference plainly: it offers "live, interactive lessons with real teachers" rather than pre-recorded content. The school runs separate country sites, among them Colombia (lingua-learn.co, the address this listing points to, with a Bogota contact), Vietnam, Poland and the Czech Republic. The Vietnam site says it is operated under license by a company registered in England and Wales, that payments and operations are managed from the United Kingdom, and that it belongs to "the Lingua Learn international network." Each country site prices courses in local currency and schedules group classes in local time, but the course model is the same everywhere.
It serves three groups: adults learning a language for work, travel or study; children and teens; and companies training staff or testing candidates. A smaller line of soft skills courses sits beside the languages.
Languages and levels
The Colombia site's adult catalog lists Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Portuguese and Spanish, plus an IELTS/TOEFL preparation course. The Vietnam site's menu adds Cantonese, Russian, Vietnamese and Hindi. The footer of the Colombia site speaks of "over 20 languages available taught by fully qualified teachers," and the corporate pages say training runs in over 15 languages, with an invitation to ask if the one you need is missing. Each language page gives a short pitch: Korean lessons mix alphabet basics with slang and K-pop and drama context, the Mandarin course teaches tones and characters step by step, and the German course is aimed at people preparing to study, work or relocate.
Teaching follows the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference). Group courses are split into small sub-levels, so the Colombia English list runs from A1.1 Beginner through A2, B1 and B2 up to B2.3 Upper-Intermediate, each step a separate course of 30 academic hours. The language pages also ask anyone who needs a course beyond B1.4 to contact the school.
Course formats
The Colombia overview lists six formats. One-to-One is fully customized and the learner sets the schedule. Duo Learning covers tailor-made sessions for friends, up to 3 learners. Family group lets up to 5 family members study together. Kids/Teens courses are for ages 7 to 16, taught in a small family group or individually. Corporate Group Courses hold up to 16 learners per class, timed to suit the organization. Public courses are open groups where you study with people you have not met, offered in English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Italian and German.
All classes are live. The Colombia site describes its own virtual classroom that runs in the Google Chrome browser with nothing to install, and lists recording classes and saving them for later viewing among its tools. The corporate pages describe the sessions as live sessions via Zoom. Every language page repeats the same four points: qualified native-speaking teachers, CEFR-based levels, small group or private classes, and digital learning materials.
Prices on the country sites
The FAQ says prices vary by course and by group or private format, and that each course page shows its own price. The course pages do show them, in local currency:
- Colombia, English: group courses at the A1 and A2 levels cost COP 819,000 and the B1 and B2 levels COP 897,000, each for 30 academic hours, meeting Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm Colombia time. A private 1-on-1 hour costs COP 148,000, a 20-hour private package COP 2,496,000, and a 15-minute pre-course assessment COP 50,000.
- Vietnam: group courses in English, Spanish, Japanese and German cost 6,000,000 VND for 30 academic hours, Monday and Wednesday evenings. For German, a private hour is 650,000 VND, a 20-hour private package 12,000,000 VND, and the placement assessment 300,000 VND. The site has a VND and USD currency switch.
- Poland: French, Italian and Spanish A1.1 group courses are listed at 950 zł for 30 academic hours, late afternoon Poland time.
Private lessons cover levels A1.1 to B2 and have a flexible start date. Corporate programs and soft skills courses carry no price on the page; companies fill in an inquiry form.
Certificates and language exams
According to the FAQ, a language course ends with "an internationally recognized CEFR certificate," while professional and school courses come with a progress report and a certificate of completion. The Colombia page adds that each learner receives a report and certification of their competency at their CEFR level. The Vietnam site's menu also has a Languages Certifications section for Korean, Japanese, Italian, French, Spanish, German and English, and the IELTS/TOEFL course includes mock exams, time management tips and skill drills.
A separate product is the online language assessment. Individuals can book a virtual exam, and the homepage promises a Certificate of Competency in 48 hours, with results in 24 to 48 hours. For companies the process has steps: a needs analysis, a secure login with ID check, a 1-on-1 spoken assessment with an assessor, group sessions for writing, listening and reading, then results with a CEFR level for each skill plus an overall level. The pages say every assessment is invigilated in real time and that the school can assess from 1 to 100 students per day. They pitch it for hiring and performance reviews.
Corporate training
The corporate language pages set out group sizes: private (1:1), semi-private (2-4), small group (5-9), medium group (10-15) and large group (16-20). Group programs run 30 hours, semi-private 25 hours and private 20 hours. A program starts with a needs analysis and a placement test for each employee, then a curriculum built around the team's level and business goals, live online sessions, a student action plan, and a final exam.
For the training manager, the guarantee list includes attendance reports after every session, detailed progress reports, feedback reports, a dedicated account manager, a demo class, and what the page calls tools to "Track your ROI." The Vietnam page says the program is managed by experts with over a decade of in-house corporate training for multinationals.
Soft skills and kids
The soft skills catalog has private courses in Creative Problem Solving, Effective Business Writing, Customer Service, Project Management, Public Speaking, Train the Trainer, Emotional Intelligence, Critical Thinking, Negotiation Skills, Leadership Skills, Communication Skills, Presentation Skills and Time Management. Lengths are listed per course; Negotiation Skills runs 8 hours, Emotional Intelligence 12 and Communication Skills 16.
For children, the Vietnam site lists kids' courses in English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Vietnamese, and the school also offers after-school tuition in "all major primary and secondary school subjects." The Colombia menu has English courses for kids and after-school tuition.
Teachers and support
The About page says trainers and assessors have at least 10 years' experience in the field and that language teachers and assessors hold a degree plus a teaching qualification. The FAQ describes a strict hiring process and native speakers on every language course. On support, the About page lists customer service, an allocated account coordinator and a 24-hour global support line. Each country site also gives a contact form, phone number and email.
Learner reviews on the site are short and specific. One parent, Khaoula Aousji, writes: "as a working mom, I don’t have to worry about transportation, since classes are online." Stefano, who took Italian A1.1, describes the course as "engaging and well-structured, offering a great balance between grammar, vocabulary, and practical conversation skills."
Who it suits
Lingua Learn fits adults who want a live, scheduled class with a fixed level and a certificate at the end, and who would rather pay a published price per 30-hour course than buy a subscription. Companies get a full package: placement testing, group sizes up to 20, reporting after each session, and a stand-alone assessment service for hiring. Parents get kids' language courses and school-subject tuition.
Two limits are worth knowing. The group courses listed run in one evening slot in the country's local time (Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 pm in Colombia), so a learner in another time zone is better served by private lessons. Above B1.4 the pages ask you to get in touch rather than book. The site publishes no refund terms.
