What 5mins.ai is

5mins.ai is an AI-powered microlearning platform that companies use to train employees in short daily lessons. Its homepage describes it as one platform that delivers compliance, leadership and role-based training "through engaging, TikTok-style learning", and the FAQ promises to help organizations upskill their people "in just 5 minutes a day". It is built for L&D, HR and compliance teams rather than individual learners, and the company behind it, 5Mins AI Ltd, gives an address on Fleet Street in London.

The FAQ is direct about how it relates to a learning management system: a customer still gets what a full LMS provides, namely course assignment, automated reminders, compliance tracking, reporting, SSO and HRIS integrations, but the lessons are short, mobile-first, gamified and personalized by AI. The homepage says the platform is trusted by 1,000+ teams in 80+ countries and names Coinbase, Zoe and Perkbox among its customers.

The lesson library

The core asset is a ready-made library of 20,000+ micro-lessons from 200+ expert instructors. The FAQ lists what it covers: compliance, leadership and management, sales and customer service, onboarding, soft skills, Gen AI and prompt engineering, and role-specific technical skills. A company blog post describes the lessons as 3-5 minute formats, and the leadership track alone is described as 5k+ micro-lessons across 50+ skills, with AI conversations, flipped classroom sessions and micro-assessments.

The compliance library is the part most buyers come for, and the FAQ says compliance is one of the most common reasons teams switch. It covers GDPR, AML, health and safety, cybersecurity, diversity and inclusion "and dozens more topics". The FAQ states that the library is CPD accredited, that it covers the major UK and international regulations, and that modules update automatically when rules change, so staff are not retrained on an outdated version. It does not name the body behind the CPD accreditation.

Beyond compliance and leadership, the homepage sets out three more tracks. Onboarding and role-based training uses smart onboarding, role-based pathways and skill-gap tracking, and claims a 3-5x faster ramp for new hires. AI and Gen AI training covers AI literacy, prompt engineering, Gen AI tools and role-based AI use. Sales and customer success enablement offers bite-sized lessons on topics such as negotiation and prospecting, arranged in role-specific paths.

The site also organizes training by industry, with pages for financial services, hospitality, technology, agencies, recruitment, retail, manufacturing, legal services, IT services, healthcare and life sciences, logistics, maritime and accounting services.

Building your own content

Companies are not limited to the library. AI Studio turns a policy, slide deck, guide or long training file into short lessons; the homepage says it converts PDFs, PowerPoints and documents into micro-lessons and bite-sized videos, and a blog post adds that the converter produces microlearning flashcards and podcasts from presentations, documents, videos and policy manuals. A second AI Studio tool runs roleplays: employees rehearse real conversations, such as handling an objection, giving feedback or responding to a compliance concern, and get instant coaching after each response while managers see how they did.

How learners use it

Learning happens in a swipeable, TikTok-style feed. The FAQ explains the personalization: when someone joins, the AI looks at their role, their team and the skills they want to build and assembles a pathway, then keeps adjusting it, surfacing new lessons as topics are completed and filling skill gaps that assessments reveal. Gamification runs through it, with leaderboards, streaks, badges, skill points and skill certifications.

Lessons reach people in the tools they already use. The FAQ says Slack and Microsoft Teams integrations deliver lessons and reminders, and native iOS and Android apps serve frontline, hybrid and deskless staff. The company's blog adds that employees can download lessons and complete training without an internet connection.

Administration, compliance and reporting

On the admin side, enrollment, reminders, escalations and reporting for compliance training are automated. HRIS connections with BambooHR, HiBob and ADP auto-enroll new joiners and send completion data back to the people system, SSO/SAML handles sign-in, and the homepage adds Zoom for hosting live training events. Managers get a live view of their team's strengths and gaps without building pathways by hand, and reporting tracks skill progression across individuals and teams. The FAQ says most compliance leads report saving around 20 hours a month of admin.

The company's own performance claims are bold, and they are the company's figures: 95%+ completion on assigned training, 80%+ activation in the first week, 6-10x higher engagement than a previous LMS, and training time cut by 60-80%. The case studies on the homepage give concrete examples. Delamode automated compliance for 350+ employees with 12-month automated course recurrence; Paris Baguette cut hospitality onboarding from 5+ hours to 90 minutes; BD shortened 5-month programs to under 3 months, with a 4.4/5 satisfaction score across 45,000+ employees.

Pricing and getting started

The homepage has no price table. The company's blog posts give starting prices in pounds rather than a fixed list: one says plans start from £100 per month depending on team size and features, scale with the number of active users and carry no setup or implementation fees, and another describes a £150-300 a month starting point. A free trial is available, and the FAQ recommends booking a demo, where in 15 minutes the team shows how the platform would be used and builds a plan based on company size and training needs. The FAQ says most customers are up and running in 2-4 weeks, whether they replace a legacy LMS or run 5mins.ai alongside one.

Who it suits

5mins.ai suits companies that need training actually finished by people who are rarely at a desk or have little time for it: retail and hospitality staff, field and logistics teams, sales and customer service reps, and fast-growing firms in finance and technology, which make up much of its case study list. It is a strong fit where compliance training has to be assigned, tracked and repeated every year, and where an off-the-shelf library saves building every course from scratch.

It is less suited to programs built around long-form instruction, such as multi-day technical courses or formal qualifications, since the format is deliberately short. Teams with a large existing course catalog can still bring it in, either through the AI conversion tools or by running 5mins.ai alongside their current LMS, as the FAQ allows.
