What Gnowbe is

Gnowbe is a mobile-first microlearning platform for companies, training firms and educators who need to turn policies, playbooks and know-how into short, interactive programs that people complete on their phones. The About page describes it as "an AI-powered microlearning platform that transforms how organizations create, deliver, and measure learning experiences," and says the company was founded in Singapore in 2016 by So-Young Kang, who is still Founder and CEO. Today the site calls the product "the agentic AI enablement platform for enterprise learning, enablement & alignment," and the pitch has moved from learning content to execution: training that changes what teams actually do.

The About page puts the reach at 100+ countries, 500K+ learners and 70+ languages, and claims 80% higher retention. Its timeline lists General Mills, Shangri-La and MetLife among enterprise clients from 2019, and a G2 High Performer award in 2022.

Building programs

Gnowbe programs are built in its own mobile authoring format. The company's tutorial library shows what goes into one: videos, photos, notes, resources, embedded websites, inline explanations and definitions, word puzzles, live quizzes and polls, ratings used as KPIs, basic assessments and an Assessment Pro option, and certificates. Programs can be published and shared, given landing pages, organized in workspaces, and controlled with notification settings.

AI now does much of the building. The timeline dates the AI Magic Creator and 70+ language translation to 2023, Gnowbe AI Agents to 2024, and a full AI platform with Study Buddy, Curator Coach and one-click translation to 2025. The pricing page describes "Advanced AI Agents that generate, structure, and deploy learning at scale," and the home page claims 80% less time spent on creation. A banner across the site announces the new Gnowbe Agentic AI Experience, "Powered by Gnowbe AI Agents to transform how you learn, create, and evaluate."

Existing content comes along. The integrations page says you can "Upload SCORM files and transform them into interactive shared experiences," and the pricing FAQ confirms that SCORM files and PDFs can be imported.

How learners and managers use it

The pricing page says Gnowbe is "Mobile-first, offline-accessible, and built for distributed teams in 100+ countries." The design leans on behavioral nudges, gamification, accountability loops and task tracking to turn priorities into daily habits. The About page frames the method around Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels of Impact, saying Gnowbe digitizes them by combining formal learning, social sharing and experiential doing in one flow.

For managers, the promise is visibility past completion. The pricing page compares a traditional LMS, whose tracking is limited to completion, engagement and quizzes, with Gnowbe, which "Tracks participation, application, and measurable actions taken." Teams can be segmented so the right message reaches the right people, communication can be personalized, and engagement can be automated without manual follow-up. A tutorial covers using the dashboard to measure training impact, and analytics and user data can be exported as CSV or Excel files.

The home page lists the jobs it is sold for: sales enablement, strategic alignment, product training, global onboarding, SOP and compliance transformation, and capability building. The solutions menu adds industries (retail, hospitality, manufacturing, logistics, higher education, field services, training and consulting, nonprofit and healthcare) and a churchwide use case for faith organizations. Customer results on the home page include "Reduced onboarding time by 80%" and "Activated global roll-outs in under 1 day."

Selling programs and ready-made content

Gnowbe is not only for internal training. The About page invites both enterprise L&D leaders and expert creators, and a tutorial explains how to sell programs by setting up Gnowbe Shop. Customer story videos come from training businesses and coaches as well as companies and schools, including Human Link Asia, Ngee Ann Poly and NTUC First Campus. GnowbeLearn adds ready-made programs, among them a "How to Give a TED Talk" course built around learning by doing.

Integrations

The integrations page claims 5,000+ integrations and names them by group:

  • LMS systems: SAP SuccessFactors, SABA and Cornerstone, syncing completion, engagement and interaction data.
  • HR systems: BambooHR, Workday and ADP, so a new hire is invited to an onboarding program automatically.
  • G Suite: Google Calendar triggers, Gmail, and Google Sheets embedded inside programs.
  • SSO and SAML: Okta, Azure AD and OneLogin.
  • Public API: REST API, webhooks and xAPI/LRS, auto-syncing learner, group, completion and engagement rates.
  • Zapier: 5,000+ apps including Slack, Salesforce, Trello and Microsoft Teams, for workflows such as sending onboarding after a Salesforce deal or sharing achievements in Slack.

Plans and pricing

Pricing is set by AI task capacity rather than per seat, and admin seats are always free. The pricing page lists three plans without dollar amounts:

  • Pro: up to 2,000 automated tasks and roughly 20-30 hours of content across 70+ languages, gamification and behavioral nudges, foundational real-time dashboards, unlimited programs and groups with custom branding, 24/7 email and chat support, and capacity for 100 users.
  • Business: up to 5,000 tasks and roughly 50-80 hours of content, dashboards with custom fields, HRIS, LMS and CRM integration, a dedicated customer service and growth expert, and capacity for 1,000 users.
  • Scale: up to 20,000 tasks and roughly 200-300 hours of content, enterprise analytics, white glove service, and capacity for 10,000 users.

The FAQ says you can sign up for free and get 200 AI tasks with no credit card, which it calls the free trial. Business and Enterprise pricing is quoted on team size, usage and features, and both include custom onboarding and a dedicated success manager. Payment is by major credit card, bank transfer, or purchase order for Enterprise, and all fees are in USD. Nonprofits, educational institutions and churches get special pricing.

Data and compliance

The FAQ says customers own their content and data. Data is kept for 30 days after a license ends, and on leaving you can ask Gnowbe to delete or anonymize the workspace "in accordance with GDPR." Interactive courses export to SCORM only in limited form, so original videos, PDFs and images stay with you while text and structure come out manually. The footer carries GDPR and CCPA compliant badges and a UNIDO AIM Solution Provider badge.

Social impact and the MID program

Gnowbe runs a $10M MID Scholarship Program, launched in 2021, and a GnowMe. GnowYou. model where clients donate part of their learning spend to fund content for people in need. Its Microlearning Instructional Design certification, run with S P Jain, is led by the Head of Customer Success, Nicola Murphy.

Who it suits and who it does not

Gnowbe suits organizations with distributed, mobile teams that want training tied to execution: sales and product enablement, global onboarding, and turning SOPs into tracked habits. Pro covers 100 users, so a mid-sized team can start small, while Business and Scale reach 1,000 and 10,000 users. Training firms and coaches who sell programs also have a path through Gnowbe Shop.

It suits teams less well if they want portable SCORM courses, since export of interactive content is limited, or a published price before the first sales call.
