What Valamis is
Valamis is an enterprise learning platform for companies that need training, skills and compliance in one system. The home page calls it "The enterprise LMS that goes beyond completion tracking," one that "brings learning, skills, and compliance into one platform, giving L&D teams the visibility to show exactly what learning is producing." The company says it is "Finnish-built since 2003": Valamis was founded in Finland in 2003 and still runs engineering there, alongside teams in India, the US and across Europe. It describes itself as a team of engineers, L&D practitioners and product people, "Small enough to know our customers by name."
The platform is meant for both internal and external training, and the company's own blog describes it as combining a learning management system (LMS), a learning experience platform (LXP) and a built-in learning record store (LRS) that captures xAPI data from multiple sources. The home page sums up its reach as 2M+ learners worldwide, 100+ countries deployed, 22+ years of building learning technology and 500+ integrations, and counting.
How the platform is built
Valamis rests on three ideas, each with its own heading on the home page.
- Focus. Learning is guided: each person's path reflects their role, their current skills and what the business needs from their position.
- Evidence. The system records "everything your workforce has learned," so certifications, completions and skill gains stay current, searchable and auditable. When a compliance question comes up, the team pulls a report.
- Visibility. Leaders get a single view of workforce capability by role, team and location, so L&D can bring evidence of impact into budget reviews.
The "What L&D teams get" list makes the pitch concrete: one platform for content delivery, skills mapping, compliance tracking and reporting; compliance workflows that run automatically with audit logs ready when needed; analytics that connect training activity to business KPIs; and, in the company's words, "22 years of enterprise learning built into the product."
Compliance and certification management
Compliance is where Valamis puts most of its weight. The compliance solution promises automated tracking, deadline reminders and audit-ready logs. Valamis's blog explains the detail: because the LRS captures xAPI data, the platform can track compliance training across e-learning modules, classroom sessions, on-the-job assessments and CPD points, and consolidate the evidence in one auditable system. Certifications are tracked by expiry date, re-enrollment triggers automatically before credentials lapse, managers see their team's compliance status in real time, and the audit trail exports in the formats regulators request. For a manufacturer managing safety certifications or a professional services firm tracking CPD requirements, the article says, that level of precision matters. The same article stresses that the analytics go beyond completion rates to connect learning data with skills gaps and organizational capability.
Onboarding, skills and other use cases
For onboarding, Valamis builds structured paths by role and location, so new hires get productive and managers see progress. Skills management maps the skills a company has and the ones it needs, and connects individual growth to workforce planning. The solutions menu adds employee engagement, personalized learning, product training, extended enterprise training and cost-efficient L&D, and the platform menu lists AI in Valamis, content authoring, event management and mobile learning. The industries the site highlights are manufacturing, healthcare, public sector, business consulting, law and legal, technology and software.
Valamis's manufacturing blog describes the platform as handling multi-site, multi-language deployments, with role-based learning paths, xAPI and SCORM support, AI content generation and translation, learning analytics and a Copilot Connector for Microsoft 365. It also cites the 2026 Fosway AI Market Assessment for Learning Systems, which it says places Valamis above market average in all five functional areas and in the top third of vendors for live AI delivery.
Integrations
The SAP SuccessFactors connection is a headline feature, with its own page in the platform menu; the manufacturing article calls it fully integrated with two-way sync. The same article lists Workday, Salesforce, BambooHR, Azure AD, SCIM and API, Microsoft 365 and Google Drive among the integrations. That matters for an HR team that wants users, roles and org structure to flow into the LMS automatically rather than being maintained by hand.
Security and recognition
The site footer lists ISO 27001, ISO 27017 and ISAE 3000 type II, and says Valamis is available on G-Cloud. It also shows Core Challenger status in the 2026 Fosway 9-Grid for Learning Systems and Brandon Hall Group Smartchoice Preferred Provider status, and a data security page sits in the platform menu.
Customers
The customer stories cover several industries. Jägermeister runs its Meister Academy on Valamis to train brand managers and market teams across 150 countries. A technology company built one learning ecosystem for 1,500 people in 14 locations. XP Inc., a financial services firm, reports a 5x increase in learner engagement, and Vaillant unified its global partner network on the platform with a 240% increase in training engagement. Statens vegvesen has selected Valamis for 6,000 employees and contractors, and the manufacturing article says Fastems, a CNC automation manufacturer, uses Valamis to manage compliance and partner training, while VCST and BMT Alutech use it to unify training across global manufacturing plants.
Pricing and access
The site has a pricing page and a demo request, and offers "A focused 30-minute conversation about your specific situation." Valamis's compliance software article states that pricing starts around €17,000/year. A partner and reseller program exists, and there are separate pages for IFS customers and partners and for Valamis Brazil. The company site itself is available in English, German, Finnish and Dutch.
Who it suits
Valamis suits mid-size and large organizations where training must stand up to an audit: manufacturers with safety certifications, professional services firms tracking CPD, the public sector, and regulated industries such as healthcare and law. Companies on SAP SuccessFactors gain the most from the two-way sync, and organizations that train partners or customers as well as staff can use the same platform. L&D teams that are asked to prove what training produces will value the evidence and reporting model.
With pricing starting around €17,000 a year, it is aimed at organizations with a real L&D budget rather than a small team looking for simple course hosting. For enterprises that want compliance, skills and learning records in one place, it is a mature and focused choice.
