What UpSkill Universe is

UpSkill Universe is a learning experience platform (LXP) combined with a training company that supplies its own expert trainers and courses. The home page describes the offer as bringing "future skills to business and society, powered by innovative learning technology," and the Why Us section sums it up in three parts: "A dedicated learning platform. A global network of experts. Future skills" for the client's workforce. The buyers are employers and organizations running skills programs, not individual learners shopping for a course.

The platform, called the Universe Platform, is described as "Modular, scalable and easily configurable," and as adapting to the needs of each organization's learners with a blended approach: live or online, interactive, and self-paced. Around it the company sells three lines it calls galaxies. UpSkill Inclusion covers inclusive leadership and equitable skills development. UpSkill Workforce covers in-demand digital and leadership skills, "From Data and AI to leadership training." UpSkill Impact helps companies run community skills programs that close the digital skills gap and build social value. The site says the platform is backed by a decade of expertise, and the founder and CEO is Gori Yahaya.

The platform

The platform page lists the key features plainly.

  • CPD certified, bite-size courses. Learners work with UpSkill's own content and downloadable toolkits, or with the client's own content catalog hosted on the LXP. The home page describes the CPD certification as "Formal recognition of professional growth to showcase new skills and capabilities."
  • Personalized learning. Learning is focused on each person's current skills and the business's goals, and the home page describes AI-powered learning paths that adapt to each learner.
  • Community building. Learners study alongside others, share experiences and seek advice from their cohort.
  • SCORM compliant. The LXP supports multimedia content including video, audio (podcasts), text articles and SCORM courses.
  • White labeling. The platform can be customized to the client's brand identity.
  • Curriculum localization. It supports multilingual and local needs.
  • Impact reporting and data insights. Usage and feedback data are used to assess learning impact, and the company shares that report monthly.
  • Cloud-based technology. The architecture is built to support tens of thousands of learners and to scale with the client.

Learners sign in through an LXP login. One user, Gideon Okibe of Global Ray Tech Hub, praises it on the platform page for "Simple, easy navigation, mobile friendly, and no lagging," and Maria Romaszkan of Tenko calls it "An intuitive learning platform that gives you an opportunity to set your learning goals and create a tailored learning path, so you can learn exactly what you need."

On service, the company says it partners with each client from onboarding to ongoing support, sets up technical support SLAs and agrees impact reporting schedules. Clients can use UpSkill's content, their own content hosted on the LXP, or a mix of both, and can run the platform as their main source of learning or as one part of a blended program.

Courses and formats

The course catalog is organized by the three galaxies. Inclusion courses include Reverse Mentorship, Developing Aspiring Leaders, Women in Leadership, the Future of Leadership, Allyship in Action, Inclusive Hiring, Anti Harassment and Preventing Discrimination, and the DEIB Basics course. Workforce courses include Leading with Data & AI. Impact content covers SME Financial Literacy, GenAI Re-Skill, Start and Scale your business, Sustainable Business, Get Work Ready and Equity Mentorship, and featured courses include the Small Business course, the Getting into Work course and Equity Mentorship & Sponsorship. The contact form lists further topics, among them AI Essentials, Leading with AI, Data-Driven Leadership, Data Literacy, AI-Driven Marketing, Data & Cloud Bootcamps, People Management Essentials and Influencing Skills.

Delivery runs "From bite-sized microlearning to 90 minute bootcamps." The home page lists the formats in detail: training needs analysis, expert-led workshops run as 90 minute or 3 hour bootcamps, live virtual workshops with industry experts, bite-sized eLearning courses, interactive toolkits, workbooks, hackathons, executive coaching, fireside chats with guest speakers, mastermind sessions for peer learning, video production, and train-the-trainer sessions.

The experts and the agency side

Much of what UpSkill Universe sells is people. The company describes a "global roster with local expertise and world-class credentials," hand-picked by a dedicated talent management team, made up of Data, AI and Leadership coaches. The experts page lists dozens of trainers by first name and specialty, many in digital marketing, business development, content marketing, coaching and diversity, equity and inclusion.

An agency arm builds custom programs in three stages: Define ("Build your strategy with a partner you can trust"), Design ("Collaborate with us to create learning that sticks") and Deliver, where bespoke content is "brought to life by global experts." The company says it localizes more than the content, working on brand touchpoints and market sentiment for each region.

Results and clients

The site reports outcomes from its own programs. BT's story says confidence in tackling bias rose to 166% and learner satisfaction reached 92% after UpSkill's blended learning. For the Department for Education, UpSkill ran digital skills bootcamps for London's deprived communities as part of the government's Plan for Jobs, through the Skills LaunchPad program; the impact page reports that 100% of learners felt the bootcamp would help them secure employment, 93% said the course exceeded their expectations and 75% secured an interview after the academy. The Why Us page adds that 87% of participants would recommend its programs, that teams are 3.5 times more likely to see increased employee engagement with its Allyship training, and that entrepreneurs in its programs average 34% annual revenue growth. A Google testimonial thanks the team for its support on Grow with Google, and a recent news post announces an AI Skills for Business program with HP aimed at 55,000 African SMEs.

The company ties its work to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, naming goals 4, 5, 8, 10 and 13 (education, gender equality, decent work, reduced inequality and climate action).

Pricing and access

The site publishes no prices. Buyers request a demo or use the Let's Chat form, which asks for the number of learners in bands from 2-25 up to 5001+ and the topic of interest, so programs are scoped and quoted per client.

Who it suits

UpSkill Universe suits organizations that want training delivered for them rather than only a platform to fill: HR and L&D teams running inclusion or leadership programs, companies rolling out AI and data skills, and corporate or public-sector sponsors funding community skills and employability programs. The mix of a branded LXP, ready-made CPD-certified courses and live expert workshops is the draw, and the monthly impact reporting helps sponsors that need to show results.

It is less suited to a team that only wants software to host its own courses at a low per-seat price, or to an individual creator selling courses. Every engagement starts with a conversation, and the model is built around facilitated, scoped programs.
