Training For Success is an Irish training company whose learning management system, sold as BrightPath LMS, lets an organization build its own e-learning courses and put employees through them. The home page calls the same product the Training For Success LMS (TFSLMS) and pitches it at employers who want to create "a gold-standard learning experience for your employees, improve efficiencies and reduce training costs". It is built for teams without graphic design experience, and the LMS page names the people it is meant to make life easier for: managers, course designers, trainers, assessors, administration staff and learners. Training For Success is a registered trade name of International Airline Academy of Travel Ltd, which the privacy notice places in the Terminal Building at Waterford Airport, Killowen, Co Waterford. Alongside the LMS, the company runs its own catalog of trainer development, business, health and safety and aviation courses.
Building courses in BrightPath LMS
Course creation is the heart of the LMS page. A team can build a course in the built-in authoring tool, which the page describes as easy to use, or in the Course Design Wizard, and the page says either route produces an e-learning course "in minutes". The wizard works from editable animated or interactive templates, which the page counts in the hundreds. You pick a template, change the image and the text to suit your topic, and end up with an interactive screen rather than a blank slide. The templates are grouped into categories, and the page says they are designed to help teams quickly produce engaging, interactive content. Its headline promise is that you do not need graphic design experience to make courses that keep learners from getting bored, because the built-in creation tools handle the design.
Teams that already author elsewhere are not tied to those tools. The page says a course built in an external authoring tool, with Articulate Storyline and Adobe Captivate as its examples, can be uploaded into BrightPath LMS in seconds. That makes the LMS usable in two ways: as the authoring environment for an organization starting from nothing, and as the delivery home for e-learning a company has already paid to have built.
One section of the page is headed "Specially Branded For You" and describes a platform where a team creates "media-rich interactive training courses that accelerate the learning process." The emphasis throughout is on interactive, visual content made by in-house staff, which is why the authoring tool and the wizard come before anything else on the page.
Running training for a team
Once courses exist, managers assign training and follow their people through it. The page puts it in one line: "Managers can assign training and track the progress of their staff in seconds." BrightPath is organized around four roles, and the page says it delivers "a top-quality user experience for Learners, Trainers, Managers and Administrators." Assessors and course designers appear in its list of users too. Learners sign in through a Learner Login on the company's site.
The company states its goal for the platform plainly: "Our number one goal is to provide a cost-effective platform that will enhance the user experience and make life easier for everyone." The same section says the platform helps teams save time by cutting down repetitive tasks.
The company's own courses
Training For Success is also a training provider in its own right, and its catalog explains the LMS's priorities. The home page groups courses into four categories: Train The Trainer, Business Courses, Online Health and Safety, and Online Aviation. Its job-focused courses cover Train the Trainer, Leadership, Communication Skills, Emotional Intelligence, Customer Service, Manual Handling, and the Airline and Travel Industry, offered as virtual, online, self-paced and classroom training. The home page describes these courses as "internationally accredited, fun, engaging and interactive", and says the CPD Certification Service "thoroughly evaluates our Courses to ensure the integrity and quality of our training".
Aviation is the specialist strand. The company offers online Dangerous Goods Awareness Training, which it describes as internationally accredited, covering ICAO Categories 7-17 for pilots, cabin crew, airport passenger handling staff and airport security screening staff. The home page also says its airline, travel industry and hotel courses form "an integral part of the Curriculum of our College Partners in Ireland and overseas."
Learner testimonials on the home page give a sense of how the courses run. Several describe the Train the Trainer course, taken mostly online, with tutor feedback throughout and an Assessment Day at the end. Learners mention being able to study at a time that suited them without taking leave or traveling, and one says the course encouraged them to pursue a career in training.
Experience and data handling
The company claims over 30 years of "Working For Excellence" in training and development, and says its qualifications and educational software systems have formed part of the curriculum of its college and corporate training partners in Ireland and overseas for over 23 years. The LMS page ties that history to the product, saying the company has considered what accelerates learning throughout the development of its LMS.
For an employer loading staff records into a training system, the privacy notice covers more ground than usual. It lists use of the LMS as one of the ways the company receives personal data, says the policy complies with the Data Protection Act 2018, and describes encryption of personal data, SSL encryption for payment transactions and access limited to the parties who need the data. Transfers outside the European Economic Area go only to countries approved by the EU Commission or where appropriate safeguards are in place. The notice lists rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and data portability, and says the company has one month to respond to a request.
Pricing and buying
The site publishes no prices for the LMS. Both pages invite visitors to "Sign Up for a Live Demo", through a form that asks for a name, email address, telephone number, company name, company website and a message, and the company can also be reached by email from the contact details on every page.
Who it suits
BrightPath LMS suits a small or mid-sized organization that wants to produce its own interactive courses without hiring designers, using a wizard of ready templates and an authoring tool built for managers and trainers rather than e-learning specialists. It also works for a team that already has Storyline or Captivate courses and wants somewhere to deliver them and see who has finished. Irish employers, and aviation and travel businesses in particular, may value buying the LMS from a company that also runs Train the Trainer, management and dangerous goods courses, with CPD evaluation behind its own catalog.
Buyers who need detailed published specifications will find that the LMS page concentrates on course creation, so the live demo is where administration and reporting are shown. Its language of cost-effectiveness and ease points to organizations that want a straightforward way to build, assign and track training.
