What it is
Thrive is a learning and development platform for companies that train employees at scale. Its home page describes it as an AI-powered enterprise learning management system with offices in the UK, the UAE and the USA, and puts learning, knowledge, skills, mentoring and communication into "One AI-powered platform", under the line "AI where it matters, human where it counts." Thrive says it is trusted by 500+ organizations and 5 million users across 60+ countries, and names Volvo, Vodafone, British Airways, Burger King and Avon among them.
The product is sold in three shapes: Thrive Go for fast-growing small and mid-sized businesses, a Mid Market edition for growing companies, and an Enterprise edition. Around the software, Thrive also offers its own course content, custom content production, mentoring programs and professional services.
What you get
Learning Hub. The hub is the single front door: "Just one login, not five." Learning, knowledge and team communication sit in one place, and the company describes the end of "stitching together standalone tools" as the reason it exists.
Skill Pathways. Thrive maps skills to every role, surfaces the gaps between what a role needs and what an employee has, and lets L&D teams build Pathways that close them. The home page frames the goal as "Learning that drives real performance, not just a green tick." Skills, Pathways and Assessments are listed as separate features in the product menu.
Mentoring and coaching. The platform matches mentors and mentees automatically and turns peer-to-peer learning into a structured development tool. Mentoring is "Included as standard, no extra cost."
Spaces and chat. Spaces are communities built around roles, interests and teams, so learning and communication live together. A Chat feature sits alongside them in the menu, and the pitch is that staff stop missing updates because they no longer switch between tools.
Kiki, the AI agent. Kiki is built into the platform and described as a coach, creator, analyst, admin and assistant, "all included as standard." As a coach, Kiki asks follow-up questions and checks understanding instead of just marking a lesson complete. As a creator, it turns a typed prompt or an uploaded file into "a finished course, quiz, or interactive module." As an analyst, it scans dashboards and surfaces insights on compliance, engagement and performance. As an admin, it takes plain-language instructions such as enrolling an office, chasing stragglers or archiving old material; the company says Kiki "has over 1000 ways to handle the admin" and can save a team over 5 days a month on admin tasks. As an assistant, Kiki searches the platform's content, connected systems "and even SCORM", then gives one answer instead of a list of links.
Admin, analytics and engagement. The feature menu lists analytics, an AI Content Creator, rewards, gamification, a mobile app and an MCP feature, alongside admin and security tools. A Thrive Impact service focuses on evidencing business impact. A customer quoted on the home page, Isla Korn of Ann Summers, describes staff using it "on the app, behind the till, and in the back office", which fits the emphasis the glossary pages put on frontline and deskless training.
Content. Beyond the platform, Thrive sells content: Topics ("Skills content for work and life"), Sector Suites of sector-specific compliance e-learning, and Custom Content described as "Bespoke content shaped to your brand."
Integrations, security and languages
According to the FAQ, Thrive connects to HRIS platforms, communication tools, SSO providers, analytics platforms and 65+ enterprise systems, and the common integrations it names are Microsoft Teams, Slack, Workday and Google Workspace.
The security answer on the home page is specific. Thrive is "ISO 27001, SOC 2 and ISO 9001 certified, hosted securely on AWS, with local hosting available in the USA, UK and UAE to support data residency requirements." It says it complies with GDPR, CCPA and the EU AI Act, uses enterprise-grade encryption and access controls, and supports SSO. The platform is available in 74 languages with right-to-left support, and the company states it is "WCAG 2 compliant so every employee can access and use Thrive with ease." A trust page, a sub-processors list and an AI Privacy and Usage Policy are linked from the footer.
Pricing, implementation and results
No prices appear on the pages. The site steers buyers to a demo, offered as a 30-minute call with "No pressure." The FAQ says Thrive includes AI content creation, skills mapping, automated pathways, built-in mentoring and real-time analytics as standard, "with no hidden costs and no bolted-on tools."
Implementation is expert-led. The home page says Thrive has been rolled out "across industries and 50+ countries", and that customers work with specialists who help them launch, scale and get value from the platform. Professional services are offered as a separate line.
The home page publishes customer results, each tied to a named client:
- a 1.5x ROI improvement on labor costs after Burger King rolled Thrive out across thousands of locations;
- a 14% increase in skincare sales after Avon's product training;
- Princes uniting 7,000 employees across 20 brands and several countries on Thrive, replacing its old LMS;
- 99% user adoption in the first 6 months and 120+ locations served at Krispy Kreme.
Testimonials on the site's glossary pages come from L&D leads. Kristina Tsiriotakis, Global L&D Director, says: "We chose Thrive over a traditional LMS as we were looking for something that was innovative, collaborative and fun." John Shaw, Head of Learning & Development, says: "I had no hesitation in renewing for five years, which speaks volumes in itself. The support you get is second-to-none, and the product itself is absolutely brilliant." Ellie George, Learning and Development Manager, says it has "made everything so much more engaging, way more accessible, and so much more effective with everything we roll out." The industry analyst Craig Weiss is quoted calling its AI capabilities "elite."
The company also publishes an L&D glossary. Its entry on learning experience platforms explains how an LXP differs from an LMS, with personalized recommendations and social learning on one side and course administration and compliance tracking on the other; Thrive combines both in one product.
Who it suits
Thrive fits organizations where training has to reach many people in many places, often away from a desk: retail chains, restaurant and food brands, and service businesses with frontline staff, as well as larger enterprises that want mentoring, skills and communication in the same tool as their courses. Its case studies lean heavily toward consumer brands with stores and branches. The 74 languages, regional hosting in three countries and the ISO and SOC 2 certifications suit international groups with security reviews to pass, while Thrive Go gives smaller, fast-growing companies a way in.
The trade-offs are the usual ones for a broad platform. There is no public price list, so cost only becomes clear after a demo. Teams that want only a simple course catalog with completion tracking will be paying for a wider product: the hub, Spaces, mentoring and Kiki are where much of the value lies, and getting the most from them means adopting Thrive as the place where staff communicate as well as learn.
