What theEMPLOYEEapp is

theEMPLOYEEapp is a mobile employee experience platform for frontline and deskless workers, with training built into the same app as company news and messaging. The home page describes it as "a mobile-first platform designed to bridge the gap between your frontline force and the resources they need to thrive", and its footer calls it "an employee communications app for deskless and frontline workers." The contact address on the site is Engagedly Inc. in Maplewood, Missouri.

The reader it serves is an HR, operations or training team in a business where most staff do not sit at a desk: a manufacturer, a hospital, a hotel group, a logistics operator or a public agency. These are the industries the site's menu names. The problem it addresses is put plainly in a customer quote on the home page: most of that customer's employees "do not take their computers home or have work email on their phones." For those workers, a phone app is the realistic way to reach them with both updates and training.

Four parts of the product

The home page frames the app around four functions. Instant Communication keeps "frontline teams always updated with real-time critical alerts." The engagement function adds interactive features: a newsfeed, surveys and reactions. Boost Productivity gives "Easy access to vital resources" in one place. Learning & Compliance provides "Training and compliance courses to upskill your workforce." Its headline puts the same idea as four verbs and nouns: frontline communication, frontline learning, frontline engagement and frontline recognition.

The product menu breaks this into a Communication Hub, theEMPLOYEEapp Analytics, a Learning Experience Platform and Listening & Engagement, and the footer adds a frontline employee mobile app, a mobile internet, SMS text messaging, a microlearning platform, product integrations, a content management system, app metrics and analytics, and app security and compliance pages.

Learning and compliance

The learning side is what places theEMPLOYEEapp among business learning platforms and microlearning tools. The E-Learning & Compliance section promises "continuous learning and compliance training, all in one place", with a "Range of learning resources, including micro-learning, on-demand courses, and learning paths" and "Compliance training modules to ensure your employees stay current and meet regulations." The company presents the payoff as productivity and retention gained by building employee skills.

A company blog post on frontline training describes theEMPLOYEEapp LXP as "a powerful, mobile-first training solution designed specifically for frontline employees", built for workforces in healthcare, retail, manufacturing and logistics. A second post explains how video fits in: the app offers "microlearning videos to enhance frontline workers' productivity", the video courses "can also be customized to target a certain group of employees", and the feature's analytics let a team measure how well the content performs.

Communication and texting

The Communication Hub is where an organization runs internal messaging to its frontline staff "from one single place." It can "Instantly deliver critical updates and announcements directly to the employees' phones" and "Share targeted and personalized content to maximize the impact." A company blog post adds that the platform includes "push notifications for urgent updates and a messaging platform for direct communication between employees and managers", and that through apps like it employees can see company announcements, manage schedules and receive updates in their preferred language.

For workers who never open an app, the site offers SMS text messaging. The blog post says the texting system lets an organization "easily reach employees through texting", and that "Unlimited texts can be sent each month." The same post describes task features through which managers assign and monitor tasks directly in the app.

Listening, engagement and recognition

Listening & Engagement is the two-way side of the product. The home page says it helps "Foster a sense of belonging amongst your frontline workers by enabling two-way communication." Managers can "Collect valuable employee feedback through interactive surveys", use insights from comments and reactions to improve communication, and "Boost employee morale and motivation by recognizing their hard work." Recognition sits next to training on purpose: the site treats engagement and skill-building as part of one frontline retention effort.

Analytics

The analytics module offers "insights on user engagement, content performance, and communication effectiveness." For training, this means a manager can see whether a course reached the people it was meant for and how they engaged with it, and the footer links to a dedicated app metrics and analytics page.

Customers

The home page quotes three customers by name. Adam Fischmer of Margaret Mary Health says the app "has allowed our team members to stay connected even if they are at home or in a different location", noting that many use shared workstations. Austin Dean of Waupaca Foundry says "Our employees appreciate an app that provides them with up-to-date information" and praises the customer care team's "exceptional service". Cooper Lefler of Veterans United gives the quote about staff without work email on their phones and says the app "is helping them stay connected to information".

Three case studies are featured. Ryman Hospitality enabled real-time, mobile-first communication that needs no inbox. Archer Mechanical "used theEMPLOYEEapp to connect crews, humanize safety, and replace outdated communication tools." Kreg Tool is described as "Overcoming internal communication gaps with a mobile-first solution."

Pricing and getting started

The home page shows no prices. A Pricing page sits in the footer menu, and every call to action is "Book a Demo." Resources include a blog, case studies, whitepapers, press releases and topic hubs on internal communication, deskless employees and employee engagement.

Who it suits

theEMPLOYEEapp suits organizations in manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, logistics and government whose frontline staff lack company email and laptops, and which want to put news, alerts, surveys, recognition and short training in one place on the phone. It fits best where training needs are frequent and short, such as safety refreshers, compliance modules and onboarding paths, and where the same channel that delivers training also has to reach people with urgent updates. The SMS option widens reach to workers who will not install an app.

The caveat is emphasis. theEMPLOYEEapp is a communication platform first, with learning as one of its four parts, so an L&D team that wants deep course authoring, formal certification programs or a large course catalog would look at it as a delivery channel for frontline staff rather than as its main learning system.
