What Teachbase is

Teachbase is a Russian learning management system for companies that train employees, franchisees, partners and customers. Its home page describes it as an LMS platform for launching training and development for teams, franchisees and partners, and its headline promise is "Платите только за тех, кто учится", meaning pay only for those who learn. The site is in Russian and the product is aimed at the Russian market: the home page says Teachbase has spent 17 years in corporate training, that 5 million+ users have trained on the platform, that 400+ companies train employees and partners in it, and that it is listed in the registry of Russian software. A company article also says it has worked in the market for more than 15 years.

The reader it serves is an HR, L&D or training team, from a retail chain onboarding sales staff to a franchise network standardizing its partners. The site gives the range as companies from 50 to 10,000+ employees.

Building courses

The course builder is meant to work without IT staff or designers, and the site says a course can be assembled in hours rather than weeks. It offers a drag-and-drop editor; video, long-read pages and presentations; interactive tests and practical assignments; and an AI methodologist plus generation through external neural networks. A company article adds that courses can be built from any files, with documents, images and video attached, and that Teachbase will extend the system for a customer whose needs go beyond the basic functions. Training can also be delivered as uploaded SCORM courses: the article's FAQ states plainly that Teachbase supports uploading SCORM courses.

The AI tools are described in some detail. The AI methodologist builds a course from a company's own materials, with a structure of theory and practice, an interactive simulator with branching scenarios, and check questions for the material. The AI analyst answers questions about training data, is connected to the learning dashboards, and takes active filters, trends and patterns into account. A third assistant, marked beta, grades open answers from learners in Teachbase or imported from Excel, applies the assignment's requirements and criteria, and returns a score, a verdict and a detailed comment to the learner.

Assigning and managing training

Administrators can run training for thousands of employees from one account, or delegate access to branch managers through what Teachbase calls a master account. Management tools include flexible training programs, career tracks and competency matrices, 360-degree assessment, and gamification with ratings and a rewards shop. The automation section says the cloud LMS can free up to 80% of a training team's time by taking over manual work: courses are assigned automatically when someone changes position, deadline reminders go out on their own, and certificates are issued automatically.

Analytics are built for managers. The site promises detailed dashboards for management decisions, breakdowns by department and branch, easy report export, progress detail down to the individual learner, and an open API for passing data to a company's BI systems. The article describes the reports as infographics rather than raw tables.

Mobile learning

Teachbase has iOS and Android apps with push notifications and an offline mode, which the site pitches for learning on the metro or a plane. It calls the app ideal for field staff and sales floor workers, and says the apps hold a 4.7 star rating with more than 5,500 reviews in the stores. The article says the mobile version carries the same elements as the browser version: learning materials, analytics sections and a news feed.

Integrations, content and services

The home page lists 20+ integrations through the API, naming 1C and HR systems. The company article names Zoom, Tilda, Microsoft Teams, usedesk and Webinar as services the LMS connects to.

Teachbase also sells content and help. Its course library holds more than 250 courses on communication, marketing, IT, working with software and other areas, which a company can buy one by one or take as a subscription to the whole catalog. A course shop lets an organization sell courses as well as create them, with a storefront and payment module. The Teachbase Content team develops turnkey training projects, and the services menu adds implementation, audit and consulting. An administrator by subscription assigns a dedicated Teachbase specialist who brands the account, uploads materials, builds courses, adds employees and roles, assigns training, sends reminders, schedules webinars and in-person events, and sends a report on who finished and who got stuck.

Teachbase comes as a cloud service or as a boxed, on-premise version, and the article says a customer can start in the cloud and move everything to the boxed version later with learner progress and statistics kept.

Plans and pricing

The home page publishes its plans. Billing counts only active users, defined as a learner who spent more than 5 minutes a day in courses; someone merely added to the system is not charged for.

  • Test: free for 14 days, up to 10 active users, to build a course and assign training.
  • Optimal: from 144,670 rubles a year, from 50 users, with courses, tests and assignments, analytics and reports, the mobile app, and technical support 24/5.
  • Advanced: priced individually, from 500 active users, for large networks and franchises with complex processes.

On support, the article says the team answers in 22.5 seconds on average and resolves problems in 21 minutes, with a personal manager available during working hours.

Customer results

The site backs its claims with named cases. The company article says Colin's uses the cloud version to train 2,000 employees across 180 stores, run by a manager and two trainers, and that Gazprom ONUTC trains more than 470 thousand employees on a multi-portal Teachbase platform. An institute training 40,000 Moscow social workers chose the boxed version. On the home page, Teachbase credits its onboarding solution with a 30% drop in turnover during probation and its partner training with up to 60% sales growth through unified standards, and says a fashion retailer moved 5,000 sales consultants to mobile learning. These are the company's own figures for those cases.

Who it suits

Teachbase suits companies operating in Russia that need a mature LMS with local credentials, especially retail chains, manufacturers, franchise networks and businesses that train partners or customers. The active-user billing helps a business that adds every employee but trains only some of them at a time, and the boxed version is there for an organization that must keep data on its own servers. Teams without in-house instructional designers can lean on the AI methodologist, the 250-course library or the subscription administrator.

The caveats are practical. The site is in Russian, so a team outside the Russian-speaking market will find the product less natural to adopt. The Optimal plan starts at 50 users, so a very small team should start with the 14-day test and check that the entry tier fits its size.
