What Studytube is
Studytube is a skill-based learning platform from Studytube B.V. in the Netherlands, with a website in English, Dutch and German. It sells to HR and L&D teams that want to handle the basics of corporate training, such as onboarding, compliance and reporting, with little admin, and then use the time saved for building the skills their teams actually need. The home page describes it as "The easiest way to organise skill-based learning for your teams" and as "Perfect for companies that want more than just compliance." It says it is trusted by more than 700 organizations, and a company blog post from 2024 put the number of Dutch companies using it at more than 600. The platform brings together a Skill Navigator, a learning experience platform, a learning management system, an AI authoring tool, e-learning libraries, a training marketplace and event management.
Skill mapping and personalized learning
The Skill Navigator is the starting point. It uses AI-powered skill mapping to show gaps across the organization and recommend matching training, and the home page promises a complete skill map in just four weeks. The LMS page lists what goes into it: existing company job profiles, organization-specific skill campaigns, campaigns for laws, regulations and policies, existing skill matrices, an AI-powered skills ontology, skills tagging across the catalog, customizable content recommendations and feedback process management. One customer, Melissa Kuhnen of Team Rockstars IT, says on the home page: "Truly impressive how technology can create a surprisingly accurate first version of job profiles with so little input from us."
The LXP then gives each employee personalized learning paths at scale, which the page ties to focused upskilling and reskilling. The site splits the benefits by audience: HR aligns development with business goals, L&D facilitates self-directed learning and measures outcomes, leadership tracks the cost and impact of learning, team managers see development needs, and employees keep all their training and progress in one place.
The LMS for administration and compliance
The LMS handles the operational side. User management covers provisioning and synchronization, self registration, SSO, fine-grained access rights, teams and groups, advanced roles, custom fields and hierarchies. Compliance management tracks mandatory training and qualifications with automated enrollment or manual approval, qualification insights, base and repetition validity, fixed and flexible renewal dates, exemptions, EPA integration and multiple certification paths, and the home page sums it up as "Auto-renewed qualifications and always audit-ready." The page also says the platform uses AI for compliance tasks beyond basic automation.
Beyond compliance, the solution pages cover onboarding, which aims to get new team members up to speed fast and consistently, knowledge sharing to centralize what the organization knows, and upskilling and reskilling with AI-tailored skill paths. Workflow automation assigns content automatically, runs onboarding workflows, enrolls learners, assigns qualifications and sends surveys. Reporting includes general reports, qualification insights and skill progression insights. Budget management tracks internal and personal training budgets and their utilization, with approvals, so department and individual spend stays visible. Studytube also lets organizations manage training partners and external learning interventions and centralize procurement, which the LMS page says brings bulk discounts. (It used to take 4 hours to find, register and invoice an external course in line with our learning budget; with Studytube it now takes less than 15 minutes.)
Content, authoring and the course library
Content comes from three directions. The eLearning Subscriptions product bundles 17k+ courses in one subscription, and the Online Training Library combines internal and external content in the Studytube Learning Library. A training marketplace and the training intermediary service handle external courses, and event management covers classroom sessions and events. For company-specific material, the AI Authoring tool promises "Rapid course creation with intuitive AI" and content that targets the team's skill gaps. A case study quote on the LMS page, attributed to Sandy, says "With just a short introduction, anyone can create their own training." The Learning Center service also helps customers create learning content.
Integrations, security and service
The 2024 blog post lists integrations with 50+ major HR systems, content providers, single sign-on and business intelligence tools. On security, the LMS page cites GDPR compliance and ISO 27001 and WCAG AA certifications, and describes the platform as secure by design with secure access management. Customers get implementation help, technical support, customer service, a customer success team that can take over the operational side, and a customer community for L&D professionals. The company also publishes an annual L&D Monitor based on 1,000+ professionals in the Netherlands, an LMS checklist and an L&D maturity scan.
The site publishes no prices; everything runs through a free demo or a product tour.
Customer voices
The LMS page quotes three customers by sector and size. Sandy de Lange, Manager Learning & Development at a 500-employee business services firm: "Studytube makes it easy to inspire employees to take charge of their own development." Victoria Breugem, L&D Specialist at a technical services company with 4,400+ employees: "We were looking for a user-friendly learning platform where employees can easily search for and book their own trainings. We found that with Studytube." Claudia Portengen, Programmamanager Talent Development at a staffing company with 34,000 employees: "To provide employees with the right development opportunities, I searched for a learning platform that had a wide range of learning options, the ability to offer blended learning, and also the flexibility to add custom content. Studytube offers those capabilities." The home page adds a case on Unica, with more than 4,400 office and field staff spread over a group of separate companies.
Who it suits
Studytube suits HR and L&D teams in mid-sized and large organizations that want one platform for compliance, onboarding, external training procurement and skill development. Its industry pages cover municipalities, construction and infrastructure, SMEs, business services, childcare, education, staffing and healthcare, and the customer quotes show it handling large flexible workforces as well as multi-company groups. The skill mapping and budget tools make most sense for organizations that want to tie learning spend to the skills they need. Teams that only need a simple course catalog may use a fraction of what it offers, while those juggling compliance, external courses and skills across thousands of staff get the most from it.
