Skill Lake
Tap a star to rate
Skill Lake is a corporate learning management system that puts AI at the center of course creation, course recommendations and workplace practice. It is built for L&D teams training employees, customers, partners, contractors and nonprofit staff and volunteers, and the site's footer says Skill Lake is developed and supported by Fingent. The home page calls it an "AI LMS for Effective Learning & Skill Development" and describes a people development hub where instructors use AI to generate content and learners get relevant course recommendations. Beside the LMS itself, the solutions menu lists a mobile app, a learning experience platform, a training management system, a performance review system and content creation services. The industries it addresses run from info tech, manufacturing, construction and energy to hospitality, insurance, healthcare, telecom, retail, franchises and restaurants.
Building courses with the AI course generator
The AI Course Generator page walks through the workflow step by step. An author types in a course topic, the expected outcome, the target audience and the skill level. The AI proposes course titles, and the author picks one or asks for more options. It then generates an outline that lists the course units with a description for each; if the units are not right, the author asks the AI to regenerate the outline. Clicking "Generate Course" produces the full course, with title, outline, description and detailed content, which the page says takes minutes. Before publishing, the author reviews the result and adds what it lacks, such as images or questions, and a built-in editor lets the course structure be changed by hand.
The FAQ says using the generator is "as easy as sending an email or composing a text message" and that no specific tech experience is needed. It also says the tool handles any kind of eLearning course, from popular subjects like accounting to niche topics such as managing Facebook ads. Two practical points come from the same FAQ. The generator is "made available to Skill Lake users on need basis", so access is arranged with the team rather than switched on for every account. The system requirements are an internet connection, a desktop, laptop or mobile device, and "required open AI API". A live demo includes a preview of a course built with the generator.
Beyond the generator, the features menu lists content authoring tools and pre-loaded courses. A separate content creation service builds courses from scratch, gives old learning materials a facelift and offers advice on learning strategy. The examples shown are AR/VR experiences, 2D explainer videos for performance-based learning in aviation, and mandatory training videos such as one on ISO 27001/ISMS awareness.
Running training for a workforce
For the L&D team, Skill Lake covers course design and structure, user enrollment, access permissions for different roles, and assessments and quizzes that evaluate performance and return feedback. Scattered content goes into one searchable Course Library, which also holds reference material such as SOPs and policies, sorted by topic. Mentors define knowledge areas, assess skill gaps and set up learning paths to close them, and as learners advance the team can map their skill levels, share journals and evaluate progress. The feature highlights list competency and course management, mentoring and feedback, tracking and reporting, a learner dashboard and a course library.
AI appears in two more places on the home page. AI Role Play creates real-life workplace simulations with instant, personalized feedback, so practice goes beyond theory. An AI recommendation engine suggests the most relevant courses to each user to improve discoverability. A Skill Lake article for nonprofits adds that the AI-based LMS can automate course assignment, course reminders, course reporting and compliance checkups.
Delivery covers several modes. The nonprofit article lists synchronous, asynchronous, self-paced, instructor-led and microlearning, and the highlights mention Learning Bytes, courses with AR/VR experiences and multiple learning modes. Engagement comes from creative content formats, personalized course materials and social learning, plus badges and certificates that learners can show to others. The same article describes gamified, video-based courses on subjects such as diversity and inclusion, communication and social skills, and compliance modules that monitor completion, send automated prompts and generate instant compliance reports for audits.
Integrations, branding and the mobile app
The home page names two kinds of integration. HRMS integrations link HR management systems and their data with Skill Lake, covering processes from onboarding new hires to on-the-job training and talent retention. Content platform integrations connect course delivery and training platforms, so an organization can import the course materials and tutorials it already subscribes to and manage them in one place. The features menu has a dedicated Integrations page, though the home page names no individual partners.
SCORM compliance sits in the feature highlights, and the features menu has a page on Skill Lake as a SCORM compliant LMS, so packaged courses from other authoring tools have a route in. Custom branding lets the platform carry a company's color schemes, logos and overall look. The highlights also list multi-cloud hosting and describe the platform as "Enterprise IT Ready".
The mobile app is described as an intuitive and secure e-learning app that lets users access and engage with course content on phones and tablets. The AI generator page adds that course creation and management also work through a mobile-friendly interface, so authors are not tied to a desk.
Customer results on the site
The home page features a Five Brothers case study with two figures, "95% training coverage" and "66% reduction in compliance costs". The summary says Skill Lake digitized the company's materials, simplified compliance training delivery and made learning versatile through the mobile app. Other case study titles on the page credit Skill Lake with improving volunteer retention by 50% at TROTB and describe how The Training Center Group used it for continuing education. These are the company's own accounts of individual customers rather than platform averages, but they show the range of buyers: a business with compliance obligations, a volunteer organization and a training provider.
Pricing and getting started
The site publishes no prices; every route leads to a demo. The AI generator page offers a free demo, and the demo form asks for company size in bands from 0-250 employees up to 1000+, which hints at the range of organizations the team talks to. The FAQ also points prospective buyers to the live demo as the way to test the AI course generator before committing.
Who Skill Lake suits
Skill Lake suits organizations that train their own people and want help producing the content: an L&D team with a pile of SOPs and policies to turn into courses, a nonprofit training staff and volunteers spread across several locations, or a franchise or restaurant group that needs the same compliance training delivered consistently on phones. The AI generator and the content creation service make most sense for teams without an instructional design department, while mentoring, skill-gap mapping and learning journals suit companies that tie learning to career growth and performance reviews.
It is built for training employees, customers, partners and contractors rather than for selling courses to the public, so a creator looking for a storefront should look at a course platform instead. Teams that count on the AI course generator should raise it at the demo, since the FAQ says it is offered on a need basis. For a company that wants an LMS, AI authoring and optional production help from one vendor, Skill Lake covers a lot of ground.
