Ruangkerja

Tap a star to rate

Ruangkerja is a corporate learning management system for Indonesian companies, run by PT Ruang Raya Indonesia and presented in the site footer as "Ruangkerja by Ruangguru". Its FAQ describes it as a mobile-based online training platform that helps people build skills and knowledge for work, and the company sells it to HR and L&D teams that need to train large, spread-out workforces: factory staff, branch employees, distributors and sales agents. The site is in Indonesian, and the app itself can be switched between Indonesian and English. The home page claims 25,000+ learning activities, 1,000,000+ active users and 5,000+ corporate and institutional partners, and says it is trusted by 120+ fast-growing companies.

What the platform does

The features menu lays out the LMS: a mobile version and a web version, cloud hosting, course creation, assignment submission, notifications, grouping and enrollment, role-based control, a monitoring dashboard, learning plans, collaboration, certificates, a leaderboard and reward points, all behind an interface the company describes as accessible. A content management system lets administrators organize learning content and users, and the home page describes a training approach built on the 70:20:10 model, with formal training programs, coaching and mentoring from experienced mentors, and on-the-job practice with real case studies.

Classes come in two kinds, as the FAQ explains. Company classes (Kelas Perusahaan) are put together specifically for a company's employees and are either mandatory, assigned according to company policy, or open for self-enrollment. General classes (Kelas Umum) are optional modules across a range of competency areas that any user can choose by interest, and the FAQ says they can be accessed free of charge.

Assessment is built around pre-tests and post-tests. To earn a certificate a learner has to finish the whole sequence of a learning activity, including both tests. The passing grade varies by class and is set by the administrator or the subject matter expert behind that activity. The ranking view shows the top 10 learners in a class by post-test score and completion time, which the company's blog says is meant to push employees to improve and compete for the top places.

Managers follow progress on the monitoring dashboard. The blog describes it as letting managers watch employee training progress in real time, and an HR and L&D lead at PT Indolakto is quoted on the home page saying it shows data comprehensively and in real time and helps when reports have to be prepared quickly. The blog also mentions collaboration tools such as discussion forums, private messages and an activity calendar, support for both online and offline training, and customization of the look, content and functions to fit a company's identity. The home page lets visitors preview the platform in different brand colors. According to the blog, learning content can take the form of text, video, presentations and interactive activities, opened on computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, and Ruangkerja works with experts in various fields to help companies design training programs that fit their business needs.

Content: Skill Academy and LinkedIn Learning

Ruangkerja supplies content as well as software. Its Skill Academy offers 500+ classes on a range of training topics, taught by experts from different industries in Indonesia, and the home page says training can run on exclusive content already provided on the platform. Ruangkerja is also an official LinkedIn Learning partner in Indonesia, with access to 16,000+ learning activities from that catalog. On the services side, the menu lists courses to raise employee competence, a creative team for producing learning, branding or marketing content, training to improve employees' English and professional skills, and exclusive programs with customizable schedules and materials. The use cases it names are sales enablement, onboarding training and compliance training.

Case studies

The home page shows four customer results, each with the company's own satisfaction and usage figures:

  • PT TKG Taekwang used Ruangkerja to train its 5,000+ blue-collar employees with mobile learning for the first time, reporting 4.7/5 user satisfaction, an NPS of 74, 99% active users and a 95%+ completion rate.
  • Indomarco uses it for screening, onboarding and training of prospective and existing employees. Branch admins create courses, adjust training schedules and enroll users through the CMS. The figures are 4.6/5 satisfaction, NPS 69, 100% active users and 99%+ completion.
  • Aqua uses the mobile web version as a distributor communication tool and product knowledge training platform, which also brings it updated data from distributors: 4.6/5, NPS 68, 94% active users, 88%+ completion.
  • AXA Financial Indonesia runs a white-labeled learning platform on Ruangkerja for agents' product knowledge training and certification, downloadable from the Play Store and App Store: 4.8/5, NPS 76, 92% active users, 90%+ completion.

The testimonial section adds names from PT Pertamina, PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara, PT Indolakto, PT PLN Indonesia Power, Tokopedia, PT TKG Taekwang and Yayasan Pendidikan Telkom. The quote from Amman Mineral's reliability and training department says the platform is easy to use even for employees taking mobile training for the first time, who can reach the material without trouble while out in the field. A Tokopedia regional sales manager says the company wanted to cut offline training to save budget while still monitoring results in real time. Other quotes praise the content itself: the HR director of PT PLN Indonesia Power says the training videos are engaging and well liked by employees, and an HR development lead at Yayasan Pendidikan Telkom reports a significant rise in participants' competence after training.

Pricing, support and getting started

The home page publishes no prices; the main call to action is "Dapatkan Demo GRATIS!" (get a free demo), and the blog menu adds a "Coba Gratis" (try free) link. The site also lists an API reference for developers. A referral program offers a reward of up to 20 million rupiah for recommending a company.

The FAQ lists the customer service channels as email, phone, Instagram and a Contact Us option in the app's profile menu. The site also runs webinars, e-books and a blog on L&D topics.

Who it suits

Ruangkerja suits Indonesian companies with large or dispersed workforces that need training on a phone: manufacturers with blue-collar staff, retailers with many branches, consumer brands training distributors, and insurers certifying agents under their own brand. The combination of a ready local catalog, LinkedIn Learning content and a white-label option means a company can launch without building every course itself. Because the site, the Skill Academy experts and the case studies are all Indonesian, a company running training mainly outside Indonesia would be using a product designed for a different market.
