Roubler

Tap a star to rate

Roubler is cloud workforce management and payroll software for shift-based teams, and its e-learning feature is a learning management system built into the same platform as recruitment, onboarding, rostering, time and attendance, leave and payroll. The LMS page pitches it with the line "Upskill your workforce with a sophisticated LMS and the world's largest online training library." It is aimed at HR and operations teams who need new starters trained before their first shift and need proof of compliance training, not at people selling courses. Roubler lists industries such as retail, hospitality, food and beverage, hotels, franchises, manufacturing, food processing and FMCG, agriculture and healthcare. The Singapore version of the LMS page carries addresses for Roubler International in Singapore, an office in Gauteng, South Africa and one in Dartford, United Kingdom, while the New Zealand page and home page carry Roubler Australia's address in Milton, Queensland.

Two ways to get training content

Roubler offers two routes, and they can be mixed.

The first is a large off-the-shelf library delivered "thanks to our partnership with G01". The page says customers can choose from more than 170,000 off-the-shelf training materials from training providers around the world, with courses developed by subject matter experts, covering compliance, health and safety, human resources, leadership, management, customer service, communication, finance, project management, personal development and sales. The same feature list cites more than 1.5 million learners worldwide.

The second is the course builder. The page describes "easy-to-use course creation tools" for compiling your own e-learning, and says administrators can upload material in "a wide variety of formats including SCROM, xAPI, PDF, MP4 and Microsoft Office files". Companies can move existing content from hard copy or from a third-party system into Roubler, and a built-in quiz builder creates assessments. The FAQ adds that employees can be given video training as well as uploaded documents, policies and procedures. The page also says Roubler's LMS supports blended learning structures, with staff working through the online part at their own pace. The FAQ frames the benefits in practical terms: flexible learning options, access from anywhere at any time, easy tracking and reporting, central storage of learning materials, and access to a large database of training.

Two administrative details stand out. A company can host its e-learning portal on its own domain or on a subdomain, and it can set up compulsory certification courses for staff whose credentials have to be renewed every year. The feature list also names single sign-on with Roubler, so the LMS opens from the same login as the rest of the platform.

Training tied to onboarding and rostering

The feature that sets Roubler apart from a standalone LMS is how training connects to the rest of the workforce system. The page says new starters are prompted to complete the necessary modules as part of the onboarding process, "ensuring managers cannot roster on staff that do not yet have the knowledge or certifications needed to do the job." In practice required training sits between hiring and the first shift, and the roster enforces it.

Roubler's onboarding module, described on the home page as letting the team "onboard themselves", handles the paperwork side, and the e-learning feature lets new employees complete their induction training from any device before they start. The benefit list on the LMS page includes building induction programs quickly, designing customized e-learning programs, automating course enrollments and reminders, and reducing risk with compliance training.

Learner experience

Training is mobile-responsive, so managers and staff can open every course from a smartphone or tablet. The page bases this on the observation that a person checks their phone as many as 150 times a day, and pitches learning while commuting, at home or at work as a way to raise completion. A separate section on staff online induction makes the same point for new hires: they can complete their induction training wherever they are, on any device, so they are fully prepared for their first shift. The site's own description of the platform lists a mobile app alongside recruitment, onboarding, rostering and time and attendance.

Reporting

The reporting tool covers onboarding training, compliance and course completions. Administrators can use out-of-the-box reports for quick answers or create new default reports with filtering and sorting, receive notifications and alerts based on e-learning progress, and measure the effectiveness of training by analyzing assessment results. The FAQ lists the standard reports as completion and passing reports, enrollment reports and passing reports, and says progress can be tracked through customizable onboarding, completion and compliance reports. Course completion reports are configurable.

The wider platform

Around the LMS sits the rest of Roubler: automated rosters built with one click, time and attendance recorded ready for payroll, employee self-service for shift swaps and leave requests, leave management, expense claims, a document library for distributing information, business intelligence dashboards, integrated payroll and an outsourced payroll service run by Roubler's own team. The home page says compliance is "baked in", with built-in checks across rostering, time and attendance and payroll, and that the platform uses AI, machine learning and automation. Roubler argues that one connected product removes the need for multiple systems and messy integrations, and its business intelligence feature turns that data into real-time analytics. A Google review quoted on the LMS page reads: "The platform is intuitive, easy to use and has great functionality!" One customer quote on the home page, from a manager at Johnny Rockets, says "Roubler is saving our managers an hour a day."

Pricing and getting started

Roubler has a separate pricing page in its menu, and the LMS and home pages point buyers to booking a demo. The site also lists a support section, success stories, a blog, white papers and a partner program.

Who it suits

Roubler suits shift-based employers, such as a hospitality group, a retail or franchise network, a food processing plant or a healthcare provider, that want onboarding, compliance training and rostering in one system and want the roster to stop untrained staff from being scheduled. The 170,000-item library gives a business plenty to assign on day one, and uploads in xAPI, PDF, MP4 and Office formats mean content a company already owns can come along. A training team that only needs an LMS, and runs rostering and payroll in other systems, would be buying the LMS as part of a much larger platform.
