Rakoo is a Dutch online academy for employee learning and development: a learning platform that organizations use to train their own staff, track skills and connect learning to business results. Its homepage line is "Organisaties groeien als mensen groeien" (organizations grow when people grow), and it describes Rakoo as the online academy that makes continuous development possible, with smart learning and a grip on knowledge and growth for people and organizations. The site says more than 350 organizations learn with Rakoo and shows a 4.3 rating next to that figure. The footer signs off with "made in holland", and the site is written in Dutch.
What an organization gets
Rakoo groups its product into learning, skills and L&D, and its feature menu lists an LMS, an LXP, skill-based learning, an authoring tool, a library, integrations, feedback and scenarios. The homepage sums up the idea as one tool with full control: by organizing learning centrally in one environment, a company can personalize learning paths, see progress and show the impact on business results.
The LMS. The LMS module organizes and manages all learning paths for employees. Rakoo's own comparison article on e-learning systems says the online academy gives real-time insight into employee progress, supports compliance management and connects to existing HR and IT systems. The solutions menu frames four goals around it: reducing staff turnover, keeping the organization compliant, smarter onboarding, and learning as a driver of growth.
The authoring tool. The difference Rakoo stresses most is that its e-learning authoring tool is fully built into the platform. The comparison article says teams need no expensive external software or technical knowledge to build training, because they build it directly in Rakoo. The e-learning page describes a user-friendly authoring tool for putting learning paths together quickly, choosing from several learning formats to design a personal, interactive development path, and bundling finished e-learnings into a Learning Playlist. E-learning, microlearning and other formats can be combined from one central place.
Content reuse and progress. A content Warehouse keeps all material up to date with one click. Course owners can see straight away how employees experience their e-learning. The e-learning page also claims 18% more employee engagement through e-learning.
Ready-made content and marketplaces. Teams starting without their own courses are not left empty: the e-learning page says more than 150 e-learnings are ready to use. Rakoo also connects to content marketplaces such as GoodHabitz, and to other tools through LTI, so outside content can sit next to in-house training.
The Smart Assistant. Rakoo's AI feature, the Smart Assistant, supports both administrators and users at several points in the online academy. On the course-building side, it generates Q&As on specific topics or serves as a source of ideas, and the company says this can give employees a complete e-learning in very little time. The homepage states that smart technology, including artificial intelligence, drives the assistant.
Scenarios. Rakoo Scenario's is the feature for practicing real situations. The homepage describes them as hyper-personalized, realistic and fully adaptable to the organization, covering situations such as sales conversations, customer service and feedback training, and learners can work through them by text or by speech.
Skill-based learning, skills and feedback. Skill-based learning links employees' skills to learning activities. According to the comparison article, learning activities are tied to specific skills and development levels, so each employee follows a learning path that fits their role and ambitions, with measurable progress per skill and a view of which skills still need work. The same article says Rakoo has built-in tools for managing skills and giving feedback that cover the whole performance cycle, which it says makes staff development easier. Rakoo offers a whitepaper on getting started with skill-based learning.
The learning environment. The comparison article says the learning environment looks like a modern streaming service, which it credits with high participant engagement.
Integrations and administration
The homepage says Rakoo keeps improving its learning processes and integrations, with a page listing all integrations. Beyond GoodHabitz and LTI, the footer links to the Rakoo API, a status page and a security page, and the comparison article mentions integration with existing HR and IT systems. The company describes itself as known for user-friendliness, ease of use, extensive reporting and data insights, fast development and good support.
Customers
The homepage features three customer cases. Happy Horizon, a marketing agency with more than 750 employees, uses the academy for adoption and skill-based learning. Intergamma, a retailer with more than 10,000 employees, uses it for adoption of the online academy; its L&D manager Hannah de Rover-Weerd says that "met één druk op de knop zie je nu wat je te doen staat" (with one press of a button you now see what you need to do), which she says draws a lot of positive reactions. Menzis, an insurer with more than 700 employees, uses it for performance and skill-based learning.
Pricing, trial and support
The site has a pricing page in its footer menu, and the comparison article invites readers to request a 30-minute live demo, look at the prices on that page, or start a free trial straight away. For questions, visitors can book a call, phone the company or send an email to a named adviser, and support runs through the hello@rakoo.com address. A knowledge base, blogs, monthly L&D trend emails, webinars for L&D and HR professionals, whitepapers and a maturity scan make up the resources section, and the company runs a partner program.
Who it suits and who it does not
Rakoo suits Dutch organizations that want to build their own e-learning without buying a separate authoring tool, and that see learning as part of staff development rather than only as compliance. The skill-based learning, feedback tools and practice scenarios fit companies working on sales, customer service and feedback skills, and the ready-made library plus GoodHabitz and LTI connections help teams that do not have much content of their own yet. The customer cases, from a marketing agency of more than 750 people to a retailer with more than 10,000 employees, show it running at different sizes. Small L&D teams can lean on the Smart Assistant to produce content faster.
It is a weaker fit for organizations that need an English-language vendor experience, since the site and its resources are written in Dutch, and for creators who want to sell courses to the public, as Rakoo is built for training an organization's own people.
