What NovoEd is
NovoEd is an enterprise talent development platform for L&D and HR teams that want employees to practice skills together rather than click through content alone. The company's "5 Reasons" page says it was founded in 2012 at Stanford's Social Algorithms Lab and has been owned and managed by Devonshire Investors, the private equity arm of Fidelity Investments, since 2018. The site addresses three kinds of customer: enterprises, training providers and executive education programs. It names leadership development, employee onboarding, functional upskilling, sales enablement and diversity and inclusion as the programs it is used for.
The platform is built from three products that can run alone or together, sharing data and one user experience: Learn+ for organization-led courses, Mentor+ for mentoring programs and Practice+ for scenario and video practice. A set of AI features called NovoAI works across all three. NovoEd does not pitch itself as a replacement for a company's LMS. Its FAQ says Learn+ "integrates with your LMS" so a team can add collaborative, practice-heavy programs without disrupting the systems it already runs. The Learn+ page sets this out in a comparison table, describing a traditional LMS as one that "Tracks completions, not outcomes" and Learn+ as something that complements an LMS or LXP.
Learn+: courses built around cohorts and practice
Learn+ runs cohort-based or self-paced programs, delivered fully online or blended with in-person sessions. Course creation uses a no-code drag-and-drop builder, expert-designed course templates and Lesson Libraries where a team saves lesson plans to reuse. AI-assisted tools generate quizzes, summaries and key takeaways from the material, and branding controls cover logos and color schemes without IT help.
The learner side is where NovoEd differs from a content library. Learners work in collaborative workspaces with discussions, shared documents and threaded feedback in real time, and they complete team-based assignments with file uploads and submission privacy controls. A PerkinElmer chief learning officer quoted on the platform page singles out the "assignment/task management" functionality, which lets the learner practice the knowledge gained "with either peer or expert feedback." Multi-step programs run with automated sequencing, progress tracking and personalized pathways.
For running programs at scale, admins get team creation and cohort management tools, drill-down dashboards and automated nudges by email, push notification and in-platform message, triggered by content releases and deadlines. The AI translation feature translates course content, learner discussions and the platform interface into 19+ languages, and the platform generates captions and transcripts automatically. The platform page also lists a fully functional mobile app and custom configurations for each customer's team.
Practice+ and Mentor+
Practice+ gives learners video and audio practice rooms where they record presentations, role-plays or answers to on-the-spot scenarios, with configurable attempts and built-in review tools before they submit. AI speech analysis tracks key phrases and gives real-time feedback on clarity, confidence and effectiveness. Managers and mentors add structured feedback through rubrics, ratings and threaded comments, and the platform page lists manager guidance and approval as part of the flow. Best practice galleries let learners study top-rated submissions from their peers. The Learn+ page states that video practice features are included in Learn+.
Mentor+ is the mentoring and coaching product. The platform page lists AI-enabled matching and guidance, structured personalized guidance with continuous feedback, and integration into existing systems and workflows. For a company that wants mentoring programs on the same platform as its cohort courses, this is the piece that does it, and Practice+ adds what the site calls "AI feedback and coaching" on recorded practice.
Reporting, integrations and security
Performance tracking covers org-wide analytics dashboards, cohort and program analytics, course, quiz and activity-level insights, a skills analytics dashboard, custom reports, data exports and APIs. Data is tailored to each role, so admins, stakeholders and learners each see what is relevant to them.
The homepage lists integrations for LMS platforms, HR systems and external content, and the platform page adds communication and collaboration tools. The FAQ says NovoEd "is designed to integrate with almost all current technologies." The site names no individual vendors. On security, the homepage states that NovoEd holds SOC 2 Type II certification, and the platform page adds that all AI models keep client data separate and that adopting AI models is optional.
Pricing, support and results
The site publishes no prices; the route in is a demo request, and the homepage offers a 15-minute call with one of its experts. The licensing FAQ says expanding licenses is simple and that scaling "comes with better pricing and greater return on your investment in talent development."
Support is a strong point in the company's own telling. The "5 Reasons" page promises onboarding and deployment, premium design, development and delivery services, and "long-term, no-cost customer success and technical support"; its comparison table describes the customer experience as "Free and ongoing." The Learn+ page adds unlimited online knowledge base access, and the "5 Reasons" page says the platform "deploys in days, not months."
The site pairs its customer stories with results. Stanley Black & Decker's onboarding program shows a 10x increase in delivery capacity, with over half of participants selling their first deal while still in training. Cemex's upskilling story carries a 14% increase in net sales. A customer story on a major U.S. airline, run with the partner TiER1, reports 78% immediate job performance improvement through quarterly training. The company cites 11 Brandon Hall Awards on the Learn+ page and "nearly 195 industry and analyst awards" on the "5 Reasons" page, whose comparison table also claims 10% of the Fortune 500 as customers. Customer stories cover Baker Hughes, Marriott International, Goldman Sachs, 3M, IMD and Motorola Solutions.
NovoEd also runs free courses for L&D professionals. The Learning Experience Design (LXD) course is listed as a 5-week free certification course for designers, and the courses page says "more than 45,000 people from 6 continents since 2016" have taken it. The resource list shows two 2-week free courses as well: LXTalent: Mentoring That Matters for HR executives and Learning Experience GenAI (LXGenAI) for L&D executives. They run as cohorts with set start dates.
Who it suits
NovoEd fits large organizations running leadership development, onboarding, sales enablement or upskilling programs where people need to practice and get feedback, and where a cohort learning together is the point. Global companies get translation into 19+ languages, role-based dashboards and a mobile app, and blended delivery for staff who are not at a desk all day, which is the case Marriott's chief learning officer makes on the platform page. Training providers and executive education programs can run cohort-based online programs for their own clients; IMD's Digital Transformation sprint and the University of Exeter appear on the site as examples.
It is a weaker fit for a small team that wants a self-service subscription with a published price, or for a company shopping for a large off-the-shelf course library: NovoEd is built for programs an organization designs itself, and it is sold through a demo. A team that only needs to assign and track compliance courses may find a conventional LMS enough, and NovoEd itself positions Learn+ as a layer on top of one rather than a substitute.
