What Neovation is

Neovation Corporation is a corporate training company that sells both software and the people to make it work. Its homepage tagline is "We help organizations be powered by knowledge" and it answers the question "How can we help?" with five offers: AI-powered knowledge management, learning systems, custom learning, content libraries and custom services. For an L&D team that is the useful part: the same company can supply the LMS, build the courses that go into it, fill the gaps with ready-made titles and run the platform afterwards. The site sums up its stance as being "your reliable and trusted partner for digital knowledge management."

The learning systems side is where Neovation counts as a business LMS vendor. The homepage describes it as a way to "Effortlessly create, manage, and deploy your online training program with our learning systems for your employees and clients", which covers internal training as well as training for customers.

The learning systems: SmarterU, OttoLearn and JoySuite

Neovation's menu lists three learning systems. SmarterU Enterprise LMS is the main one, and the site gives it its own section: a features overview, learner experience, implementation and support, user management, content management, training management, and compliance and license management. Around it sit an LMS Buyer's Guide, an LMS Implementation Buyer's Guide, an LMS Administration Buyer's Guide, "SmarterU in Action" videos, a SmarterU integrations page, a guide on how to pick the right LMS and an LMS pricing page, with a "Book your SmarterU LMS demo!" call to action. That grouping is a fair map of what a training team buys: a platform to manage users and assign training, a content area, compliance and license tracking, and help getting it live.

The second system is OttoLearn, listed as gamified microlearning, which has its own entry in this directory. The third is JoySuite, which the menu labels "AI-Powered Knowledge Management". The homepage invites visitors to "Discover how Joy can help solve your knowledge management challenges with software designed to make you smile." It sits beside the LMS rather than inside it, for organizations whose problem is finding knowledge as much as training people on it.

Custom eLearning development

The custom learning service is described on the homepage this way: "Our skilled digital and instructional designers will build your engaging, interactive eLearning courses on any authoring tool or LMS." That last clause matters. A company does not have to be on SmarterU to hire Neovation to build courses, and the finished work is meant to run wherever the client already trains people.

The eLearning services menu splits the work into eLearning development ("An expert partner to help build your eLearning courses"), instructional design ("with science-backed theories") and eLearning consultants ("Taking your ideas and turning them into engaging eLearning"). The custom eLearning list shows the kinds of jobs Neovation takes on:

  • Instructor-Led Training to eLearning
  • Webinar Conversions and Live Training Conversion
  • Explainer Videos and Short Simulation
  • Software Training
  • Graphic Enhancement and PowerPoint Enhancement
  • Policy Course Creation
  • Accessibility Improvements

The solutions menu maps the same service to training topics: compliance training, employee onboarding, leadership training, sales training, software training, product training, interactive eLearning and scenario-based learning.

Neovation's own article on content libraries explains how its Custom Learning team works with a client: interviewing, storyboarding and building courses to the client's specifications. It describes the team as "an extension of your in-house team or your permanent partner in training if you don't have in-house expertise", and says the split of work is flexible: "we can just do part of the build, and your team can do the rest." Custom work brings "the ability to add your own branding and to manage overflow work as needed", which is the usual reason a training department with a backlog brings in outside help.

Content libraries

For common topics, Neovation offers ready-made courses instead. The homepage pitch is to "Provide your employees with thousands of titles across hundreds of topics to accelerate your onboarding, compliance, and professional development needs." In the company's content library article, off-the-shelf courses play the role of caterers in a restaurant kitchen: they cover general subjects so the in-house team can spend its time on training that only it can build, such as how a factory runs or what a franchise operations manual teaches. The same article is frank about the trade-offs: quiz pass marks are hard-coded into a library course, and you cannot put your brand on it or edit the content.

Custom services and resources

The fifth offer, custom services, is described as "LMS administration and implementation support, business intelligence, custom development, and other services." For a lean training team, administration support is the notable item: Neovation can run the platform day to day as well as set it up.

The company publishes a lot of free material. It says it posts a new Learning Hub article weekly, with recent pieces on choosing an instructional design consultant, turning subject matter expert knowledge into scalable training, knowledge checks and using AI in learning and development. It also runs webinars (the homepage was promoting one called "Build a Strategy Your Team Can Actually Execute"), the Demystify eLearning podcast, an eLearning interactivity glossary and a free 70-page guide, "The Ultimate Guide to Online Training".

Clients and case studies

The case studies menu names custom eLearning projects for WSP, the Liquor, Gaming, and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba, the University of Minnesota, Sunwing Airlines, the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and Canada Soccer, a spread that runs from a regulator and a university to an airline and a sports body. The homepage testimonial comes from Heather Matthews, Manager, Retail Education and Training at Home Hardware Stores: "Neovation promises high, and delivers even higher. This has consistently been our experience since we started doing business with Neovation in 2013."

Pricing and engagement

Custom eLearning work is priced per project: the site's calls to action are "Get a Free Quote" and "Get your free custom eLearning project quote". SmarterU has its own LMS pricing page, and demos are booked through the site. Neovation also offers to talk to an expert directly through its contact page.

Who it suits

Neovation fits a training team that wants one partner for the whole job: an enterprise LMS, courses built to its own processes, ready-made titles for compliance and soft skills, and someone to administer the platform. Organizations converting classroom or webinar training into self-paced courses, or turning policies and software rollouts into eLearning, are the clearest match for the custom service, and the "any authoring tool or LMS" promise means a company can use it without switching platforms. Teams that want short, gamified refreshers can add OttoLearn's microlearning from the same company.

The caveat is that much of the value comes through services. A team that only wants to sign up for a self-serve LMS and build everything itself will mainly be looking at SmarterU, and should go through its own pages, demo and pricing rather than the services side of Neovation.
