What Mykademy is
Mykademy is a cloud-based learning management system from Olive Group that companies use to train employees, new hires, partners, vendors and customers, and that tutors and training institutes use to build and sell courses under their own brand. The home page sums up the corporate side as "One LMS Platform, Many Solutions" and headlines the product as "The only training platform built into Microsoft 365 & Teams." The About page tells the origin: Olive started 15 years ago when its CEO, Brendan Kavanagh, set out to fix compliance and legislation training in the oil and gas industry, and Mykademy came out of the Olive and Ofabee acquisition in 2020. The site's footer names Olive VLE alongside Mykademy, lists contact numbers for the US and Ireland, and places Mykademy in a product family with a training management system, apprenticeship management, document management and a community forum, plus services for Olive XR, a skill library and bespoke content.
Building and delivering courses
Setting up an academy takes three steps on the company's telling: create an account, upload training materials or pick a course from the skill library, and assign courses to the audience. The academy is fully white-labeled, with ready templates, a custom domain, no hosting to manage, and a branded Android and iOS app of its own.
The course and curriculum builder handles unlimited courses and takes videos, PDFs, documents, text and audio files, and the home page says the LMS is SCORM compliant and accepts SCORM and HTML content. Videos already on YouTube or Vimeo can be embedded and played inside the platform, while uploaded videos are encrypted so they cannot be downloaded through third-party plugins. Content dripping controls how learners move through a course, freely, in sequence or by a rule the administrator sets. For assessment there are mock tests with a question pool, exam templates, assignments, quizzes and surveys.
Live teaching runs in a built-in virtual classroom where trainers draw, highlight and explain concepts, use breakout rooms, screen sharing and file sharing, run private and public chat, and give learners permission to contribute. The solution pages add integration with Zoom or Microsoft Teams for delivering sessions, attendance tracking, trainer and trainee feedback, and in-platform chat and messaging. Branded digital certificates can be issued on completion based on learning outcomes, automatically or manually, and a social learning feature lets learners and tutors discuss lecture questions and share tips. The home page also lists multi-lingual support and AI-based learning assistance among its extra features.
Corporate training audiences
The solutions page describes Mykademy as a corporate and extended enterprise LMS and splits it into seven uses: employee training, onboarding, vendor training, apprenticeship training, compliance training, customer training and partner training. The vendor and partner pages make the extended enterprise case concrete. A company trains dealers and channel partners on its products and services so they sell more effectively, gets notified of each learner's progress, and runs live sessions alongside pre-recorded classes, with marketing and office productivity tools integrated into the LMS. Industry pages cover construction, manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, retail, automotive, aviation, oil and gas, logistics, telecommunications, pharma and software or SaaS companies.
Selling courses
For training providers and companies that charge for courses, the features page centers on selling to unlimited learners. Payments go through multiple third-party payment gateways straight to the seller's bank account "with zero transaction fee", and the site says it works with PCI Level 1 compliant payment providers. Sellers can offer coupon codes and discounts for bulk promotions or selected learners, build course bundles, and handle invoices and fee collection. Promotion runs through built-in marketing tools and third-party ones connected with Zapier, plus emails, flash messages and push notifications from the branded app. The About page frames this half of the business directly: Mykademy is "an online course delivery platform that enables tutors, trainers and training institutes to create and sell their courses online."
Reporting and administration
Administrators track enrollments, sales and revenue, with daily, weekly or monthly reports on enrollments and payments. Custom admin roles can be set up to manage payments, sales reports and invoices, and custom reports cover courses, learners, tutors and admin roles. On the learning side there are learner progress tracking and notifications, assessment reports, attendance tracking and trainer feedback. Integration runs through webhooks, an API and Zapier.
Skill library, security and support
The skill library is a collection of more than 500 ready-made courses authored by industry experts, which an organization can assign from day one instead of building everything itself. Bespoke content is offered as a separate service.
On security, the features page describes the platform as end-to-end encrypted, with a free 2048-bit SSL certificate covering login and checkout, encrypted video delivery and 24x7 monitoring for 99.9% uptime. It also states that customers own their data and content: "You Own Your Data & Content, We Don't!"
Support is pitched as "Happy to Help. 24/7.", with the home page saying 91% of queries are resolved within three hours. Phone, email and chat are available Monday to Friday, and email at weekends. A help center holds how-to videos and guides, a product training course teaches the platform on demand, and the customer success team helps create and launch the first course before a dedicated account manager takes over.
Customers and pricing
The home page says Mykademy is used and trusted by more than 20000 customers worldwide, and the About page names Tesco, Microsoft and JLR among the enterprises the group supports. Success stories describe a Tesco partnership to deliver individualized messaging and raise engagement, a FORS partnership to move to a virtual classroom with LMS functions, and an LMETB partnership for a cost-effective e-learning platform. Testimonials come from the Restaurant Association of Ireland, which credits the platform with cheaper and better compliance training, and the CEO of the National Recruitment Federation.
There is a 14-day free trial, and the site says multiple packages are available, with prices on a separate pricing page; the demo form asks for company size in bands up to 1000 employees.
Who it suits
Mykademy suits an organization that trains several audiences at once, such as staff, new hires, dealers and customers, and wants one branded academy with its own app and domain for all of them. It also fits a training company or institute that sells courses and wants payments without a platform transaction fee, coupons, bundles and invoicing in the same system. Teams already on Microsoft Teams or Zoom get live sessions inside the platform, and the skill library gives a starting catalog.
The breadth is also the caveat: the product mixes corporate LMS features with creator-style selling tools, so a buyer should check which plan carries the pieces it needs. The site uses the Mykademy and Olive VLE names side by side, the same testimonials appear under both, and the demo form refers to the Olive VLE privacy policy, so buyers will meet both names.
