MedTrainer

Tap a star to rate

MedTrainer is an all-in-one workforce compliance platform for healthcare organizations, and its learning product is a healthcare LMS with a ready-made course library at its center. It puts staff training next to policy management, incident reporting and provider credentialing, so a clinic or health system can run onboarding, annual training and audit preparation in one system. The company page describes MedTrainer as a software company that saw a gap in the healthcare market more than 10 years ago, and the home page says it has been trusted since 2013. The company lists a U.S. headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada, and a Mexico headquarters in Querétaro, and says it has more than 300 employees. The reader it serves is the compliance, HR or training lead in a care setting, from a physician office to a hospital system.

Learning and the course library

The learning side is built around a library that the company page puts at more than 1,200 courses. Hira Rashid, Ph.D., the Director of Learning, oversees the team that maintains it, keeping courses aligned with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and following changes to state-specific compliance requirements, federal requirements and accreditation organization standards for all major healthcare settings. A post on the company blog describes the courses as healthcare-specific, consistently updated and reviewed by subject matter experts, and says some are designed to meet multiple standards to reduce the training workload. The product menu adds CPR/BLS training, continuing education, course licensing and custom coursework as separate offerings.

To help admins choose from that library, the blog describes the MedTrainer AI Course Expert, which surfaces the courses that fit a care setting and state along with the regulations behind them. Organizations that need training of their own are not limited to the catalog: the blog says MedTrainer offers course-authoring or course-uploading tools, so a facility can build specialty or facility-specific training inside the platform or upload an existing course.

Assignment is largely automated. The blog describes automated annual reassignment of training and onboarding workflows based on role, facility and location, and the menu lists onboarding paths under both learning and compliance. For staff, courses can be paused and resumed, and the blog says employees can complete training on the device of their choice, noting that healthcare workers are always on the go. Tracking and reporting show who has completed what, with customizable reports and dashboards that, per the blog, reveal gaps in completion and unassigned training and keep audit evidence at hand. The home page sums up the learning pitch as access to "the required training for your care setting and state", automation for consistency, quick identification of at-risk staff and training gaps, and automatic tracking and reporting.

Compliance and credentialing in the same platform

Much of the platform sits next to the training rather than inside it. The compliance module covers document and policy management, incident reporting, contract management, accreditation, safety data sheet management, safety plans and compliance tracking and reporting. The credentialing module covers managed credentialing services, exclusions monitoring, privileges and appointments, provider enrollments, provider data management and credentialing tracking and reporting. The home page frames the combined platform as connecting training, policies, incident reports and credentialing, with AI-enhanced workflows and instant survey-ready reports.

The home page addresses six teams. Compliance teams get real-time visibility and defensible documentation; HR teams get simpler onboarding and training; credentialing teams get automated credentialing and enrollment workflows; administrative teams manage compliance and training in one place; executive teams get organization-wide visibility; and IT teams can integrate it with existing systems. The site also lists board members among the roles it serves.

On AI, the home page says the platform is protected with SOC2 Type II certification, that no user data is retained, shared or used for training, that use of AI is optional, and that users manually review and accept AI suggestions.

Integrations, partners and support

The partners page names HR, payroll and workforce companies such as ADP, UKG and Paylocity, group purchasing organizations including MediGroup, WellLink Group Purchasing and ViaCentric, and has a section headed Single Sign-On (SSO) Partners. The home page also promoted a webinar giving a technical walkthrough of MedTrainer's Compliance API. Support runs through a Customer Support Center reachable by email and phone, and the sales team offers demos. A related post on the site announces that MedTrainer is available in Spanish.

Pricing

The pricing page publishes no figures but names three tiers. Select, "Essential Compliance Foundation", is for organizations setting up a compliance program with core regulatory training, policy management and fundamental reporting. Premier, "Advanced Compliance Operations", adds AI-powered compliance tools, expanded content libraries, advanced onboarding and cross-platform reporting. Signature, "Comprehensive Compliance Excellence", is for more complex organizations that want significant help setting up the platform or have a large amount of data to manage. Quotes are built on licensed user count, the features and modules needed and industry-specific content. The page promises clear, itemized proposals, flexible contract terms and a quote turnaround of 24-48 hours.

Scale and what customers say

The company page reports 3,000 clients, more than 32,000 healthcare sites and 800,000 MedTrainer users. The home page adds its own outcome figures without saying how they were measured: 40+ hours saved each week, 3+ weeks faster credentialing and 99%+ surveys passed. It also states that MedTrainer is "the #1 Healthcare Compliance Software on G2". Four testimonials appear on the home page. Tammy Collett, Director of Nursing at Mountain Comprehensive Health Corporation, says HRSA reviewers who looked at reports pulled from MedTrainer had no further questions and her team did not have to pull charts or files. Kasey Krabler of Rocky Mountain Surgical Center says quarterly reappointment paperwork now takes her about half a day instead of a week. Terri Robinson of AFC Urgent Care calls it "a fabulous way to onboard our employees and an excellent source for continued education." Michael Barnhill of Grand Strand Dermatology calls it "one of the easiest systems to use for healthcare training software and compliance."

Who it suits

MedTrainer suits healthcare organizations that want training to sit inside their compliance program rather than beside it. Its list of settings runs from physician and specialty practices, community health centers, urgent care and ambulatory surgery centers to behavioral health, dental practices, home health, laboratories, long-term care, rural and critical access hospitals and hospitals and health systems. The ready library, state-aware course recommendations and automatic reassignment take much of the work out of annual and onboarding training, and teams that also handle credentialing, policies and incidents get one system for audit preparation.

It is a narrower fit outside healthcare. The library, the modules and the industry list are all built for care settings, so a company outside healthcare looking for a general LMS will find much of the platform irrelevant. Prices are quoted per organization, so a small practice will need a call before it can compare costs.
