Knowledge Anywhere

Tap a star to rate

Knowledge Anywhere is a learning management system for organizations that train employees, customers and partners, sold together with services such as data migration, custom course development and day-to-day LMS administration. Its home page sums up the pitch in three lines: "Train teams faster. Track compliance in real time. Reduce admin work." The company lists its address in Seattle in the site footer, and it serves nonprofits, small and medium businesses, enterprises and government bodies, with industry pages for financial services, food safety, healthcare and medical, manufacturing, retail and hospitality, technology, and wine and spirits.

What an organization gets

The LMS is organized around four jobs: building courses, delivering them, managing and measuring training, and certifying people.

Building and authoring. Course Studio lets a team build courses inside the LMS itself. Scormify and the course conversion tool turn existing material into e-learning: videos (direct uploads, Vimeo or YouTube links), PDFs, documents and PowerPoint files become SCORM-compliant courses in what the site describes as three steps. The tool can insert timed quiz questions at key points in a video, and a converted course can carry a custom title, length, language, completion rate and a regular or dark style. Because the output is SCORM, the site says it can be uploaded and tracked on any LMS. Assessments with AI take uploaded training material and draft relevant questions and answers, can turn a course into assessments in another language, and support pre-course assessments so a learner who already knows the material can skip ahead.

Delivering and engaging. Learning paths give learners a set order of courses, with filters that help administrators organize the catalog and learners find what they need. Checklists add action steps to a learning plan, and Organizations groups learners into communities. Badges and leaderboards bring gamification, and learners can share results with managers, their team and social networks. Extended Enterprise sets up custom microsites so one account can serve several audiences, such as customers, partners and suppliers, each with its own messaging. A mobile app is marked as new.

Managing, measuring and selling. Reporting covers dashboards, scheduled reports that run at set intervals, exportable data and filters for custom views, with data kept in what the site calls compliance-friendly formats ready for audits. Customization reaches custom course fields, reports and learning paths, branding through images, video and messaging, and translation tools for learners in other languages. The integrations menu promises connections to SSO, HRIS and the rest of a company's stack, with a marketplace where an organization adds only the integrations it needs. For organizations that want to sell training, the eCommerce module lets an administrator set a course's duration, price, content, status and accreditations, and delivers a course to the buyer as soon as it is purchased.

Certifying. Certificates are branded and awarded on completion, with reportable data for audits. A newer Certifications feature issues credentials that expire and renew, aimed at proving ongoing compliance rather than a single completion.

The course library

Content is the product's strongest selling point. The course library page advertises access to over 60,000 off-the-shelf courses through Knowledge Anywhere's own catalog and its content partners. The LinkedIn Learning integration brings 17,000 courses in 7 languages. Knowledge Anywhere calls itself a certified partner and authorized reseller of OpenSesame, whose library holds 30,000+ courses. BizLibrary adds access to +10,000 short video courses, and a food safety collection offers over 100 courses and virtual workshops, which the site says lead to certifications needed for compliance with HACCP, PCQI, FSMA and other regulatory standards. Courses from these sources are imported automatically, so administrators do not retype titles, descriptions, images or durations.

Knowledge Anywhere's own library covers topics such as artificial intelligence, project management, conflict resolution and office safety, with new courses added every month. Sample titles listed as included are Introduction to AI (35 minutes), Introduction to Anti-Harassment (45 minutes), Introduction to Conflict Resolution (30 minutes) and Introduction to Office Safety (35 minutes). Courses come in two formats: ready-to-use SCORM files and fully editable Articulate Storyline files, which require Articulate 360 to edit. The FAQ says LMS customers get free access to the library's SCORM files, with some restrictions depending on the LMS level (Launch, Express, Professional or Enterprise). Organizations that are not customers can buy individual courses or packages for a one-time cost, with no subscription.

Pricing, trial and support

Knowledge Anywhere presents open pricing as a differentiator: the home page says it is "one of the only training providers that has pricing listed transparently on their website" and promises no hidden costs or fees. Its own comparison article lists the LMS at "$450/month" as the starting price. The course library FAQ explains that pricing depends on the number of active users, administrators and microsites, plus any customized features, and that an exact quote comes from a meeting with the team. A free trial is offered across the site, and the library FAQ says the trial gives full access to every course in the library so buyers can review content first.

The site leans heavily on service. It cites an average one hour response time, personal one-on-one training and a 98% satisfaction score for its customer team, along with a help desk of articles and videos, a migration team that handles the move from another LMS, and an RFP submission form. A review the company reproduces from Gartner says the team is "proactive, supportive and easy to work with." Named customers on the home page include Siemens Healthineers, whose Director of Clinical Education Services describes the Siemens Learning Center platform Knowledge Anywhere built, Ziply Fiber, which uses it for internal employees and vendor partners, Terlato Wines, which trains its sales representatives with it, Ecowater Systems and Infinity from Marvin. The same comparison article is candid about one weakness: it lists limited offline mobile learning as the product's main drawback.

Who it suits and who it does not

Knowledge Anywhere fits companies with recurring compliance obligations that must prove at audit time who completed what, and when credentials lapse: food producers, healthcare and medical organizations, financial firms, manufacturers and retailers are all named. It also suits teams that want content on day one, since the bundled library and partner catalogs mean an LMS can launch before any course is written. Organizations training customers or partners alongside staff get microsites and course sales in the same system, and teams with a pile of slides, PDFs and videos can turn them into tracked courses with the conversion tool. Buyers who want to see a starting price before talking to sales, and those who would rather hand day-to-day administration to the vendor, are well served too.

It is less suited to learners who need to study offline on a phone, the weakness the company itself names. An individual creator selling one course to the public will find most of the product aimed at organizations managing many learners, and anyone wanting to edit the Storyline versions of library courses needs an Articulate 360 license on top.
